ABOUT THE TITLE I orginally posted this portfolio on Behance as a place holder. The front cover stated “Portfolio under construction :/ much like a YouTube video that is unavailable in your country. Something about that phrase, though, really stuck with me. Was it the simplicity? The relation of construction to architecture? Perhaps. But the root of it is that my portfolio will always be under construction. I will always be creating new things, becoming inspired, travelling, meeting people. My portfolio will never stop being under construction, nor will my life. The pages that unfold before you will not only show my work, but also my experiences, my perspectives, and small glimpses into the whimsical world around me.

In 2016 I travelled to Trondheim Norway for a week long international peace camp. The photo captured all the participants of the camp during a planning activity. The task was to design an imaginary city that can accomodate refugees. My peers and I naturally assumed our positions at the table and I took the head. There were no defined roles during the activity, however people looked towards me as a leader. In everyday life, peers continue to look to me as a leader, someone they can rely on, get advice from, and someone who can inspire them to do their best.

BEFORE POST-PROCESSING
For the 3rd annual Jefferson University C_ABE Cabin Competition, I chose to model the Seveth Room tree cabin by Snøhetta. For this project I wanted to teach myself VRay, so I seeked help from a 5th year student. This project made me realize my love for rendeing. I am now proficcient in the software, especially with lighting. I placed top 5 among 50 students.

Both renderings illustrate a row home in a desert environment for Design 3. The project goal was to create a row home only using one 12 x 16 sheet of cardboard. No adhesives may be used. wood dowels were later added for detail. Both renderings only use an image of a physical model and Adobe Photoshop.

The entirety of Design 5 was centered around developing program as a studio and applying the limitations of real life design. The primary focus of the course was to learn about IBC, environmental factors, social-political factors, and site-specific human behavior. I specifically studied pedestrian traffic, air quality, and New Media Art.

Each rendering used a Rhino model with VRay materials and lighting. Each image was then post processed with Adobe Photoshop and Procreate for IPad.

For Design 4 we were tasked with creating an environmental center for Blue Bell Park, Pennsylvania. I found my concept when my mom brought home packaged pineaplle. It was a literal pineapple, skinned, and repackaged in plastic. I was appalled. Fruits come with natural skin! Why do we need extra trash? From there I wanted to create an artistic piece that exemplifies human waste. The shape of the building symbolizes a tree stump. I removed the natural “skin of the tree and replaced it with glass.

For Design 4 I was tasked with creating a group site map for Blue Bell Park. The class chose the trail design, and each classmate sent me their roof plans for the inividual playscape. This project taught me to communicate with peers and helped me learn how to articulate my specific needs from each member.

OBSCURED USING NODES TAKEN FROM THE EAST FALLS BRIDGE, EXTRACTING THEIR FORM, AND LAYERING IN SEQUENCE, OBSCURED CREATES A NEW FEATURE IN THE EAST FALLS AREA. THE PROPERTY ON 4300 KELLY DRIVE NEEDED A SOLUTION TO HIDE CARS ON NEW DEVELOPED PROPERTY. OBSCURED USES LAYERS OF FROSTED GLASS TO PREVENT SUN AND HEADLIGHT GLARE AND SHEILD CARS FROM POTENTIAL CRIMINALS. THE USE OF GLASS ALLOWS FOR AN AIRINESS QUALITY AND AT NIGHT CAN BE LIT UP TO FURTHER EMPHASIZE THE LAYERS. EVERY PIECE OF GLASS IS RECTAGULAR TO MAKE CERTAIN OF EASY FABRICATION.
