The Cambridge Union
The Cambridge Union is the oldest debating society in the world and the largest student society in Cambridge. Run and led by students, it hosts speaker events and debates for its membership, comprised of students at the University of Cambridge, ARU and other connected institutions within Cambridge. Founded in 1815 as a Union between three debating societies, the Union has grown from a debating society into an incorporated charity that has hosted some of the greatest minds and celebrities in the world, from Winston Churchill to Robert Downey Jr. Boasting a 19th century building in the heart of Cambridge, complete with a Parliamentary debating Chamber, events spaces and Bar - the Union is at the centre of the Cambridge social scene.
