John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres immortalize their South Bronx studio’s neighbors through their art. Sometimes working collaboratively, sometimes alone, the artists create three-dimensional plaster casts of the torsos of the people around their Bronx studio. Their work is a measure of their interest in strengthening the community in which they work. Includes essays by Richard Goldstein, Michael Ventura and Marilyn A. Zeitlin; and documentation on the artists’ careers.
