Rode To Nowhere

Mark A. Carlyle, “Stretch” passed away on April 6, 2021. He resided in Statesville, NC with his wife, Alice. Mark’s gathering for family and friends was on Monday, April 12th at the American Legion Hall at 5661 Hovis Road in Charlotte, NC. For those who would join in on Mark’s last ride here on earth, he was escorted to the Good Samaritan Funeral Home in Denver, NC. Motorcycles led and cars followed.

Mark is survived by his wife, Alice, son Chase (Jessica), mother, Glenda, brother, Tom (Julie), sister, Lisa, step children, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and two great grandchildren, Jimmy, Sissy and all of our Westside family.

Mark was an ad sales rep and reporter for Carolinas’ Full Throttle Magazine for several years, beginning back in 2013. He was an asset for the magazine until he and Alice went on the road as truck drivers full time and had to discontinue his sales efforts in 2019. Mark was always a pleasure to be around; he had a funny sense of humor and a personality that endeared him to everyone he came in contact with. We always had a good time together at the Full Throttle Fear Of February Party, Tank Town Tavern Spring Bashes and anywhere else we were able to hang out. We were shocked and saddened at the news of his passing.
