We are delighted to announce that Cantor Mary Rebecca Thomas, formerly of Temple Beth El, will lead our Kabbalat Shabbat services on Feb. 2 and March 1 at 7 p.m. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The February 2 service, marking our celebration of Shabbat Shira, the
Sabbath of Song, promises to be a highlight as we anticipate the joy of Cantor Thomas’s beautiful voice in prayer. On Feb. 16 Havurat Tikvah will hold Zoom Kabbalat Shabbat services beginning at 6:30 p.m. Afterward, participants will join together for kiddush at their respective locations. For those who wish to participate in the service, email info@havurattikvah.org by Feb. 15 at noon to RSVP and receive the link. Havurat Tikvah is a warm, supportive, and nurturing Jewish Reconstructionist congregation with Shabbat services and a full spectrum of holiday observances, as well as religious educational options for both families and single adults. We are a diverse group of families, singles, and Jewish and interfaith couples who participate in projects that promote social justice.
