PAULE KA Fall-Winter 2020

Mini-skirts and frock coats, tweed and Prince of Wales, checks and punk spirit compose all the mischief of a reinvented Swinging London for PAULE KA fall-winter 2020 collection. First stop at Savile Row: this season, masculine meets even more feminine. Narrow stripes, Prince of Wales and soft flannel are colored with pale pink or graystone, in the cozy armchairs of a gentlemen's club. Jackets with bright linings are embroidered with patches. Meanwhile, contrasted floral prints on light dresses tend to make the look more feminine and soften the structure, just like a blouse with a lavaliere tie or a crown. On sweaters and twin sets, here comes a reinterpretation of an argyle check, with its mischievous hearts and contrasting colors. There is a mood here, between Punk and College Girl: long blazers combine with sassy mini skirts, there is a jumpsuit with brown leather details or a pea coat in lurex tweed, Sweaters and sock-knit dresses have deep V-neck. This London walk continues in Carnaby Street and Soho. Amethyst, carnelian, ocher… The colors brighten up the day and the prints collide. The Scottish pattern appears on blouses and easy-to-wear shirt dresses, while check wools vibrate on a pantsuit. Fabrics mix together: houndstooth gets some colors and is mixed with tweed on Trapeze or belted dresses. Panther print becomes a purple jacquard on a baby doll dress. Pants are wide, while the legs happily swing to Berwick Street. Huge scarves wrap themselves around the neck, while plaid checks appear on a woolen miniskirt. For the evening, an emerald knotted pencil dress awakens the beginning of the night, while another velvet dress, almost monastic at first, reveals a back neckline skillfully developed by the House workshops, rue Saint Honoré. Here comes the sunset. In Piccadilly, electric lights give all its energy to the city. The Scottish check turns into lurex tweed or sparkles with embroidered sequins. Metallic details appear here and there, on the clothes or the accessories, on long riding boots, pump shoes or small clutches -there are zips, chains, martingales, closures inspired by the world of horse riding. On a large wrapped jacket or on wide pants, black and white tweed feels like a mesh. In the middle of the night, a rocking spark enlivens the collection, whether on a frock coat structured with chains, on a crepe jacket with a satin collar or on a double collar tuxedo. The night is young.
