A house curated with a vibrant selection of contemporary art worthy of a museum and set upon one of the world’s most magical beaches, the hotel is the former residence of Pablo Escobar, the notorious Colombian drug kingpin.

Casa Malca opened in 2014 with only eight rooms located in the main house after being purchased by Lio Malca, New York based art dealer, who passionately restored into a tropical haven for art lovers. The boutique property features phenomenal works of contemporary piece from his personal collection consisting of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marco Brambilla, George Condo, Keith Haring, and much more. Currently with 72 rooms, Casa Malca is a luxury retreat where guests can enjoy the attentive and dedicated service, maximum privacy and enter the alternative reality that the art, design and decoration can create. With part of his personal collection of contemporary art distributed throughout the various spaces, Lio Malca was able to build a new and unique concept in Tulum, where guests can coexist with works of art worthy of a museum. The art pieces will be on the walls of the rooms, in the corridors and common areas.

The rooms are very spacious, from 60 to 100 square meters. Each room is beautifully decorated with unique furniture and works of art personally chosen by Lio Malca. The feeling of Nature is around the ocean view rooms as well as the garden view rooms.

From its name to every detail, the concept of Casa Malca is designed to welcome guests like at home. Discovered after being empty for more than a decade it has been renovated and enlarged in a conscious and respectful way with the existing architecture and its natural environment. A magical place that provides each guest with experiencial and unforgettable memories.

Casa Malca has 180 meters of beach extension bathed by the Caribbean Sea. Outdoor and indoor pool, two bars, three restaurants and a rooftop with a 360º view where guests can watch the most beautiful sunset over the jungle.
