032 2 and 7 are numbers of fate, destiny, achievement and wealth for the founders of The 2nd Skin Co. Their 27th collection is a tribute to the good chance, to a new beginning. It´s an elegant and sophisticated proporal for the winter season, a reality of cocktail dresses that stand out in a foggy city street worn by a group of women who, during a wintery early evening, walk towards their destiny in black and lilac coats, dresses and jumpsuits with volumes created by feathers and XXL ruffles. The brand's collections are characterized by a combination of tradition and sophistication, which makes for an elegant style full of contrasts and superb attention to detail. The volumes that were introduced in the last collection evolve in “Lucky 27” creating a dramatic game of contrasts. The mini and midi dresses with straight and tight cut, have large bows and ruffles on the back. Straight skirts in paillettes wool tweed have lateral openings and feather details to adorn. Long dresses with tight bodies contrasted by wide corolla skirts. The latter’s volume is maximised by long belts that drop on the side, large bows and feather embroidery. Trousers are long or cigarettes, with high or low waists. The 2nd Skin co use a great variety of fabrics, most of them characteristic of the brand namely natural silk print gazars, taffetas, crepes and wool crepes, wool tweeds embroidered with micropaillettes, plumettis and tulles. Please introduce yourself: Hi, my name is Sophie. I'm a fitness enthusiast and personal trainer from the UK, currently living in Dubai.
Tell us about your education. Continuing from high school, I went to college and did a Diploma in Sports Development, Fitness and Coaching in which I also obtained various coaching qualifications over two years. Never was I sold on attending university however I did exceptionally well at college, finishing my Diploma earlier than most and my lecturers believed it would be a shame for me not to develop my knowledge further and therefore persuaded me to attend. I went onto study Coaching and Sports Science. The shift from a diploma was a slight shock, but I grafted my way through three years and gratefully achieved my Honors degree. From here, I decided it was time to take my level 3 personal training qualification.
How long have you been into fitness and training? I've been active since a little girl. I started horse riding and dancing at the age of six; fitness has always been a passion of mine. With regards to personal training, I have been working in the industry for around six years, and 11 years including sports fitness-specific studies.
If you had to define all that you do in a title, what would you say? I strive to assist individuals both physically and mentally to unlock the happiest, healthiest and most confident version of themselves.
What is the difference between working with a personal trainer than exercising alone?
How would you describe your philosophy about being fit and healthy? You have to integrate fitness into your lifestyle, do not think of it as 'extra hours' – once you envision this, leading a healthy life becomes much more realistic and sustainable. I believe I've very much adapted a life coach role during my years of personal training as people can speak to me in confidence about problems they may be having in their lives and we discuss ways on how to move in a more positive direction. It's so important that people are mentally healthy as this causes barriers within your physical health such as hormonal imbalances, which in turn affect your metabolism, general health, and slows down your fitness journey if your coach/PT can educate you in all aspects then, bonus points all around.
What are some tips you have for people looking to get into shape?: Increase water intake: Staying hydrated helps the body flush out toxins and achieves homeostasis Eat whole foods: You will consume a vast array of nutrients in whole foods over processed produce. They decrease the risk of health-related diseases like diabetes and heart conditions Eat regularly: Consuming the right foods every 3-4 hours fuels metabolism optimization, helps reduce fat and maintain lean muscle. This helps keep your energy levels up throughout the day Ensure you are sleeping well: 6-8 hours is recommended and keep stress levels to a minimum. I can't express how much these two tips are overlooked. The inability to achieve these barricades your progress massively Schedule in time to train: Even if you only get 20 minutes, this is enough time to carry out an effective HIIT workout that for sure will burn away those calories. Dependent on available time, aim to train 3-6 days a week. If you are trying to lose weight/burn fat, you need to be in a calorie deficit. In correspondence, if you are trying to gain weight and achieve more lean muscle you need to be in a calorie surplus Seek advice: If you are unsure of what it is, you need to do to make your body goals then ask a professional. This is what we are here for, so don't feel afraid to receive some guidance, whether it is exercise, diet or both.
What mistakes do people make when working out? Lack of consistency, so many people, start and give up too early because they go all out. Take it slow and gradually change different areas of your life to integrate healthier lifestyle choices. For example, don't go for a run 6/7 days for an hour in a week and kill yourself. Start with three days 20/30 mins and slowly build up to an hour. Also, people believe that because you have exercised means you can eat anything and everything, NO, it's all about balance. However, this doesn't mean you have to cut out all your 'treats' limit and replace for healthier options, again do this gradually. The best way to make sure you're consuming the right amount of food is to work out the correct macronutrient breakdown. This can quickly be done online or through an exercise professional. This way, you will know what would work best for you.

There are so many benefits working with a PT. First off, all you need to do is turn up to training and get your session done; there's no thought process behind it. Even I have days where I have no motivation to get to the gym, so we all need that encouragement from time to time. Many fitness professionals have worked with other PTs or coaches before for precisely the same reason; we don't have to worry about our programme structure as that's in their hands for the time being. You will also gain greater knowledge about what exercises and foods work best for you. It's easy to get lost in the vast amount of information that's out there not knowing what will give you the most beneficial results.

What's your favorite quote or mantra you can't live without? If I'm perfectly honest, I'm not a quote kinda' girl. However, someone once told me that everything will always work out in the end and this, I believe. As long as you keep pushing and moving forward, adjusting and adapting to obstacles that may get in the way, even though it may not be easy, it will always work out in the end, and you will essentially evolve along the way.
What are some of your other hobbies? If I'm not working, I'm researching new things; I currently have a few projects that I'm running. Having said this, as mentioned previously, I love horseriding; this is my haven. If I could own my horses at some point, that would be the dream.
Who or what gives you the most inspiration?

My father has been a massive inspiration for me; he struggled academically but worked from the ground up to be a successful and intelligent man. He's the one who taught me the definition of hard work. Every time I would ask him the meaning of a particular word, he would pass me a dictionary and then discuss it with me after I had tried to understand it myself first. There are many other examples like this; he drilled into me that what you truly want in life doesn't come easy, and I am so grateful for his guidance.
Who are your fitness idols? In terms of body shape, I'd say Rachel Dillon and Qimmah Russo.
What's your typical meal for… This will be a healthy option if I'm cooking myself or if I'm on meal prep. I'm also a Nandos queen, so if I have cooked Nandos it is usually first on my list, and I will treat myself to chips if I want them as I'm on a weight gain journey so more calories the better. • First thing upon waking: 500ml water • Morning: Oats with two scoops of peanut butter • Lunch: Chicken, sweet potato and vegetables (seasoned how I wish) • Supper: White fish, brown rice with vegetables (seasoned how I wish) • Snacks or sweets: Nuts, Rice cakes with peanut butter, fruit, protein pancakes – yes I do eat 'bad foods', but I'm just smart with it. Favorite beverage: To be honest I only really drink water (lots of it), but hot beverage would be a caramel soya latte and an occasional Capri-sun, these are so good but FULL of sugar. A good option for a fruity drink would be the 'VITAMIN WELL'. These taste great and include lots of vitamins and minerals.
Tell us about some of your achievements you are proud of? In 2017 I decided to compete in 'bikini fitness 'for the first time, I trained intensely for nine months. I won my first two shows, and then came 2nd in the British finals, which for a first-time competitor is very good, so this was a great achievement for me as I'd worked extremely hard.
How, when, and why did you move to Dubai? After my competitions, I felt pretty lost, something that happens to many people within the bodybuilding industry as the preparation for shows are insanely intense. There isn't much opportunity or room for growth in my hometown, and I believe that challenging yourself in any aspect of your life is the best for selfdevelopment. An opportunity arose in Dubai, and I pretty much packed my bags and haven't looked back since. Plus, I've always been a sun worshipper, so moving to a hot country didn't seem like a bad idea.
How is the fitness scene different in Dubai compared to the UK? What I like about Dubai is that fitness can easily be taken outdoors with some great facilities with breathtaking sceneries, which makes you appreciate life. In terms of it being different, fitness is fitness, and it doesn't matter where you are in the world, many of us want to be healthy and remain in good shape.

Who is Nadia? I am half Qatari, half British, born and raised in Bahrain, continued my studies in Australia and now reside in Qatar
Tell us about your education. I studied International Relations and Criminology at the University of Queensland
How did you come to embrace the idea of mindfulness in the first place? I was diagnosed a few years ago with a few chronic illnesses and was told there was no cure. Determined to get better after becoming mostly bedridden, I decided to go to one of the best medical facilities in the world that had a specialized department. Unlike the traditional “western medicine� approach, they focused on meditation and mindfulness. I began to see improvements in my health and decided to become certified in this to help other sufferers
What can mindfulness coaching cure? Can it cure chronic conditions? A cure would suggest that after doing it for a while, the chronic condition would go and they would no longer need to practice mindfulness. Many chronic illnesses have no cure even with medication. Mindfulness can help manage a variety of chronic illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, depression, psoriasis and the list goes on.
What benefits can meditation have on the brain and wellbeing? There has been a lot of recent credible research that shows how practising meditation regularly can reduce mind wandering and quiet down the mind. This, in turn, can help tremendously with regulating emotions by changing our perceptions and feelings, which helps reduce stress. There is a link between body and mind, and so if that can be worked on, then the symptoms of chronic illnesses should reduce
How did you become a certified mindfulness master practitioner? I had to put in a lot of hours studying the required material and training through a school that specializes in mindfulness
What does the process involve? Can you walk us through a typical session? Each session is tailored individually towards the client since every person’s case is unique. The first session, however, always involves the client talking to me about what they are going through in detail. After the first session, I start to tailor the following sessions based on what I have grasped. I may give the client a few activities to do at home and follow up in the next session to see the progress and modify it if needed and also do activities with the client during the session so that they can carry on doing it at home. Mindful meditation is one aspect, but mindfulness is a lifestyle that can involve eating, speaking, cleaning and listening mindfully too.

Can you please describe your daily routine for us? My morning starts with me lighting incense and listening to “OM” chants while I clean. I then continue to meditate and choose the form of meditation based on what I would like to achieve that day. I then proceed to write three things I am grateful for mindfully. I continue to work with clients and on other projects right after getting a workout in. In the evening, I will either practice yoga and/ or meditate again

Can you introduce yourself?
Hi, I'm Amelia, a yoga teacher and I spend most of my time in Bahrain and Oman. I'm originally from the U.K., but my mother is Dutch, and my father is half Welsh and half Jamaican. I have lived in England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, Ecuador, South Korea, Bahrain and Oman. I love travelling, learning, teaching, exploring, nature, outdoors and adventure.
Tell us about your Education
I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Bangor University in Wales, and a Master's degree in Ecology and Environmental Sustainability from Aberdeen University in Scotland. I wanted to study these subjects because I was always fascinated by life, nature, and the environment, and also wanted to do something to help conserve the environment. I worked as a Biologist and Ecologist, mostly doing research outside in nature about wildlife, then I moved towards Education after getting a job as a wildlife tour guide. I studied for a Postgraduate Teaching Degree in Secondary School Biology and Chemistry, and at the same time, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training. Now I teach Yoga as well as Biology and Chemistry.
When and how did you first get interested in Yoga?
When I was 21 at University, my friend asked me if I wanted to join her on a 6-week beginner's Yoga course. I agreed, and I still remember the first class and the feeling of peace and relaxation that came with doing a few simple yoga poses while focusing on the breath. I was quite stressed at University as many students are, and Yoga helped me to feel more relaxed and able to control my stress, even after a few classes.
What do you love most about practising Yoga and Yoga itself?
The feeling of calm and contentment during and after the class that cannot be gained from any other sport or activity! When I used to attend classes twice a week regularly, I remember feeling very disappointed when I used to miss the class, because I would miss this feeling! When you start to practice Yoga daily, this feeling stays with you all the time. So you always have complete control over yourself, even in the most challenging situations. Having this feeling of peace and self-control in your daily life is something that makes your life much easier and more enjoyable!
How and when did you move to the Middle East?
I moved to Bahrain in August 2016. I was a teacher of Biology and Chemistry, and that's how I first came here. I stayed for two years in Bahrain, and in the past year, I have been exploring Oman.
How did you get into teaching yoga? How many years have you been teaching?
I wanted to be a teacher for a long time before I took the teaching qualification! I followed a few teachers and saw that Yoga isn't just an exercise or sport, it's a whole lifestyle, and I wanted it too! I took my Yoga Teacher Training course in Spain in July 2016 with Gerry Rixen, a German yoga teacher who specializes in Yoga and October, 2019
the Japanese therapy Shitsu. At the time of doing the course, I couldn't imagine teaching a class myself - I felt very nervous about making mistakes and forgetting things. My first students were school children when I was a teacher at the school - I used to run an after-school club twice a week and had some dedicated kids coming to every session. They were great fun to teach. After this, I had some classes in different yoga studios in Bahrain, at the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) for the employees as part of their wellness program, and some private classes for groups of friends and family. I also made lots of special events - like Full Moon Yoga, Hot Yoga in the Desert, and Beach Yoga.
What do you love most about teaching yoga?
I love to share my knowledge of Yoga with people and see them transform after only a few classes. Their posture, their energy and even their face become different. I try to make it very simple for beginners, and always add something a little challenging so they will keep moving forward with their practice.
What makes your classes different?
99% of my classes are outside! Even in the Middle East in the summer, it's important to get out, away from the A.C., get into nature, have some Vitamin D from the sunshine, breathe fresh air, and feel the breeze on your face! I believe it's good for the body to have some challenges with different temperatures, hot and cold, it makes our bodies stronger than always being in the carefully controlled indoor environment. I find different beautiful places to do Yoga - in Bahrain I've taught classes at the Tree of Life in the desert (which has a powerful energy and is beautiful at sunset and in the full moon) by the sea on Nurana Island and Amwaj, even ON the sea on Stand Up Paddleboards (SUP yoga). I also love combining Yoga with other activities - I worked with a few horseriding stables to do a Yoga and Horseriding day - this is especially good for people who are nervous of horses to help them relax before riding the horses - and I'm currently working with Kashta Tours to do a Cycling and Yoga tour of the North coast of Bahrain through forests and gardens in an area that most people in Bahrain don't get to see!
Do you conduct private classes, or do you have a center?
Because I love to teach Yoga in natural environments and combine it with different activities, I haven't needed a centre until now! My studio is nature - beaches, desert, mountains, gardens. However, it's my dream to open a centre where people can come to learn about Yoga, health, nature and the environment and see how it's all connected!
What is the greatest challenge you have overcome because of Yoga?
I remember the first time that I felt how powerful the selfcontrol that Yoga can give: when I left University, I went to spend six months living in the rainforest in Ecuador, South America. There was one rope ladder leading to the top of a tree 30 metres high. Previously I would not have even entertained the idea of climbing it; I would have waited at the bottom for everyone else to finish.

However, because of learning to control the breath and the mind from my Yoga classes, I was able to reach the top of the ladder (of course, we had a harness and safety devices). I remember being fully conscious of my breathing and just controlling my breath, and then getting to the top was easy!
What in your opinion, are the greatest health benefits of doing Yoga?
The improvement of posture (how you hold your body) and the improvement of breathing, and how these impact your mental and physical wellbeing.
What advice do you have for people who have never tried Yoga?
Most people who would love to try Yoga but didn't yet, feel embarrassed because they imagine that everyone else in the class will be "better" than them at Yoga. However, in the yoga class, you will find that most people are focusing on themselves and not thinking about other people! I also really believe that getting yourself out of your "comfort" zone makes you a stronger and more resilient person. So even if you do feel uncomfortable, know that it's ok to feel this way, and imagine yourself in 3 months or six months or one year, when you have been practising Yoga every week, and you are getting good at it!
Can you discuss the proudest moments in your career or your biggest achievements?

One of my biggest achievements happened recently. I was invited to Jordan to work as a Consultant for the Adventure and Challenge Forest Camp in Jerash. I will be working there for a month to recommend to the company how to integrate Yoga in their activities, and training the Adventure Activity Trainers in some basic yoga so they can include it with their other activities such as hiking, climbing and team-building. I was thrilled to have been invited by the owner, Thair, who had been watching my Instagram posts and saw that I was combining my yoga teaching with appreciation and awareness of the environment. I'm also excited to be travelling to Jordan for the first time, and I'm sure I will learn a lot in my three weeks there!
Can you walk us through a typical class or session?
First imagine the scene - surrounded by beautiful nature, the wind on your face, the rising or setting sun in the background. I always say a few words to settle everyone in and make them feel comfortable, and then we get into a comfortable seated position, the most important thing here being a good posture with a straight back. We then take a few moments with closed eyes to feel our surroundings, and imagine ourselves as part of our surroundings and not separate from them. We then start with some very simple breathing exercises, to energize the body, and then we will do some postures for around 40 minutes. How challenging or relaxing postures depend on the energy level of the group. Usually, I include Surya Namaskar, which is a simple sequence that stretches and opens up all parts of the body. I always emphasize back, and shoulder stretches too because most people spend a lot of their time in an unhealthy posture with shoulders hunched forward and back rounded. At the end of the class will do some passive stretches like a lying side-twist, and then finally relaxation meditation for the last ten or so minutes.
What does a typical day in your life look like?
There isn't a typical day! My work is very varied, and I organize different events, travel a lot, and teach in different places. I always spend as much time as I can outside, whatever the weather, and of course yoga is a part of my day. Sometimes I have students for English, Maths and Science, depending on their exams, I am also currently learning dance, so I spend an hour or more every day rehearsing for a dance performance with my two amazing teachers Andrhaya and Gazelle.

Please introduce yourself to our readers I am the founder and editor of DisiCouture.com, a professional blog specializing in fashion, travel and lifestyle, boasting a loyal global audience. Born and raised in Kosovo, in South-East Europe, I moved to Vienna in March 2003 to study after graduating from high school Tell us about your education. I studied German Language and Literature as well as Communication Science at the University of Vienna. In 2009, I graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Linguistics, with a major in Language Science and minor in Communication How did you get interested in fashion? My interest in fashion began at an early age when I spent hours looking and reading my mother’s fashion magazines in the early 1990s. What are some of your childhood memories? I have a lot of beautiful childhood memories, such as playing outside, being around family and friends. I was always creative and loved to draw and paint. My mother encouraged me to use my imagination and helped me to sharpen my creative talent even more by giving me tips about painting and different techniques. At the age of 12, I went to a tailor's workshop and asked them if I could do a workshop during the summer break. They told me that it’s a workshop for adults, so I was allowed to go and watch. It was such a great pleasure to see everyone working and learning to make clothes. As I wasn’t allowed to participate, I tried to make dresses for my dolls at home and use the techniques I saw at the workshop Tell us about your work experience. After I graduated from my Master studies, I worked for the world's largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization, first as an intern and then hired for an exciting project, where I learned a lot. However, after a year I knew that working for an NGO wasn’t my interest. I wanted to work in a PR agency or as an editor for a fashion magazine. I did both and created my blog. That was the moment when I knew what gave me joy and could see myself having a career in this field Can you tell us about your blog, and what inspired you to start it? In September 2010, I decided to start my blog about topics I was passionate about such as fashion, beauty and interior. In the beginning, I didn’t want to post pictures and thought I would keep it as an online magazine. But my readers asked me to show more personal posts, and after a year, I decided to post individual street style articles. This was a breakthrough as I started to realize how blogging worked and how important it is to share personal content. How do you decide which brands to partner with? I receive collaboration requests every day. The first thing I do is to check their website, get informed about the brands' history/philosophy, research, read reviews (if it’s about a product) etc. So it all depends on the brand, if it’s appropriate for me, whether the brand fits my style and if the products are something I would buy How has fashion PR changed in recent years? I think it has changed a lot in that fashion PR is investing more in online media than print. Shown in Supernova Red – a paint colour exclusively reserved for the DBS GT Zagato ‘Centenary Specification’ – with contrasting exposed carbon fibre accents and Satin Black and Gold 3D machined wheels, demonstrates the meticulous attention to detail that marks out every Aston Martin and showcases the key features of this pack. With this car, we set ourselves the challenge of creating the best hybrid solution for a Lamborghini super sports car to provide us with the first step on our electrification strategy,” says Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer. “Lamborghini is inherently a rule breaker, a challenger, always pushing what is possible to find a better solution. With the Sián we are defining our route to innovation and we are setting new rules in new technologies, instead of just following existing solutions. The result is the Lamborghini Sián, which includes the world-first application of a supercapacitor for hybridization and new materials technology.” The Sián adopts the V12 as the pinnacle of today’s Lamborghini engines and develops a new super sports car powertrain: a unique new hybrid system focuses on providing the highest power possible via the lightest solution. A 48 volt e-motor, delivering 34 hp, has been incorporated into the gearbox to provide immediate response and improved performance: the first time in any low-voltage hybrid that a direct connection has been made between electric motor and wheels. The e-motor also supports low-speed maneuvers such as reversing and parking with electric power. The energy accumulation technology is a world first. Rather than a lithium-ion battery the Sián innovates supercapacitor application: a technology pioneered originally in the Lamborghini Aventador but dramatically developed to store ten times the
power. It is three times more powerful than a battery of the same weight and three times lighter than a battery producing the same power. Located in the bulkhead between cockpit and engine it ensures perfect weight distribution. The electric system with the supercapacitor and e-motor weighs only 34 kg, thus it delivers a remarkable weight-to-power ratio of 1.0 kg/hp. Symmetric power flow ensures the same efficiency in both charging and discharging cycles: the most lightweight and efficienthybrid solution. This advanced technology combines with the V12 engine, which incorporates titanium intake valves and is uprated to 785 hp (577 kW) at 8,500 rpm: the highest output ever from a Lamborghini power plant. Combined with the additional 34 hp from the hybrid system, the Sián delivers a total of 819 hp (602 kW), and still produces the distinctly emotive resonance demanded from a Lamborghini engine. The Sián’s weight-to-power ratio is better than that of the Aventador SVJ, achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials. The Sián reaches a top speed of over 350 km/h. The Lamborghini Sián incorporates a highly advanced regenerative braking system, especially developed by Lamborghini. Thanks to the symmetric behavior of the supercapacitor, which contrary to normal Li-Ion batteries can be charged and discharged with the same power, the Sián’s energy storage system is fully charged every time the vehicle brakes. The energy stored is an instantlyavailable power boost, allowing the driver to draw immediately on increased torque when accelerating away, up to 130 km/h when the e-motor automatically disconnects, improving the elasticity maneuvers and making it more than 10% faster than a car without this system. The improvement in elasticity maneuvers is even more evident. Traction force is improved by up to 10% in third gear and the 30 to 60 km/h acceleration time is improved by 0.2 seconds compared to the Aventador SVJ. In higher gears and lower speeds the electric motor increases traction force by up to 20%, reducing the 70 to 120 km/h acceleration by 1.2 seconds compared to the Aventador SVJ. This new level of Lamborghini performance and driving emotion is accompanied by a heightened level of driving comfort facilitated by the hybrid system. The moment when deceleration and missing torque is felt during gear changes powered by a traditional combustion engine, is eliminated by the torque upshift fill provided by the hybrid’s e-motor: the pilot will feel only the pull backward of acceleration, eliminating any possible uncomfortable jerking movements. FIRST MID-ENGINE CORVETTE EVER The 2020 Corvette Stingray is the sum of everything that came before it, re-imagined to bring customers new levels of performance, technology, craftsmanship and luxury. Thanks to the new mid-engine configuration, it features better weight distribution, with the rear weight bias enhancing performance in a straight line and on the track. As a result of the mid-ship layout, the 2020 Stingray is more responsive and affords a greater sense of control due to driver positioning closer to the front axle. Expectedly, it is also the fastest accelerating Stingray as well with a 0-100 Km/h of under three seconds when equipped with Z51 Performance Package.
