on ourRADAR MUSÉE ATELIER AUDEMARS PIGUET OPENS END OF JUNE The Audemars Piguet brand is a byword for excellence in watchmaking. Now, the company is opening an entirely new pavilion that presents its expertise to the public.

Givenchy Launches La Collection Particulière

8

CREATING IDENTITIES SINCE 1952 For Hubert de Givenchy, Couture was synonymous with avant- garde lines, distinctive fabrics and a perfect fit. But more than anything, it had to have a touch of soul. A strength of character that heightens the allure. More than just clothing, the House’s founder always created new identities through Couture. Strong-willed personalities. Exciting and inspiring styles, which have been given a new olfactory interpretation in La Collection Particulière. This daring range features eight gender neutral fragrances, each built around an unusual pairing of ingredients, which interact and contrast with each other in a totally unexpected way to create unique olfactory identities.

COUTURE SIGNATURE From 26 June onwards, Audemars Piguet will invite the public to gain first-hand insights into its expertise. Located in Le Brassus, home of Audemars Piguet, this museum presents two centuries of watchmaking history in a space combining contemporary architecture and pioneering scenography. Looking at the past, present and future, it embodies the Manufacture’s free spirit and devotion to the perpetuation of Haute Horlogerie in the Vallée de Joux and beyond. Small groups can visit the Workshop Museum, Mondays to Fridays, exclusively by reservation. Only 2 tours will be arranged each day; each tour lasts 120 minutes. These are exceptional opportunities for visitors to gain in-depth knowledge of the luxury brand that was launched in 1875 at Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux. Since then, this leading highend watchmaker has taken the craftsmanship of timekeeping to new heights of excellence. The company earned special renown from its signature "Royal Oak" model with an octagonal bezel. The enterprise still upholds the values of its founders, Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet. These pioneers of the Manufacture's early days pushed technology and theory to new limits in their quest to design increasingly sophisticated mechanisms. A four-star hotel – the region's first in this category – will also open next to the Workshop Museum in 2021.

Each original composition leaves a distinctive trail with a Couture spirit, which is glorified by a ninth fragrance: Accord Particulier de Givenchy, a signature scent designed to intensify the personalities of the other fragrances. It leaves a lasting impression and plays with layers to showcase different textures – a nod to Hubert de Givenchy's first collection, “Les Séparables”, created in 1952, which featured pieces that could be worn in any combination. “You have style and personality; accentuate them. And, if you live with a fragrance, keep it, because it’s a part of you,” the couturier said. This is the motto behind the new fragrance collection, which showcases every personality.

A RADICAL DESIGN FOR DARING FRAGRANCES The La Collection Particulière bottles are deceptively understated. The sleek lines are punctuated by the intense black of the architectural cap and a graphic strip inspired by Couture labels with the name of each fragrance. Their “gender fluid” design is deliberately minimalist to highlight the richness of the perfume inside. With the requisite Couture spirit, these sculptural bottles lend themselves to customisation. Thanks to a unique personalisation service, the chrome-plated cap stamped with the 4Gs can be replaced by an animal motif or a marbled effect which form part of the brand’s DNA. It also leaves space to have personal initials engraved on a gold or silver plaque on request. These details make all the difference, and, like a carefully chosen accessory, complete the look.

CLIENT HANDOVER CEREMONIES RESUME AT REOPENED HOME OF ROLLS-ROYCE

The Home of Rolls-Royce is once again welcoming clients to collect their new motor car in person, following the reopening of the Goodwood-based Global Centre of Luxury Manufacturing Excellence. The resumption of customer handovers restores a much-needed element of normality for the marque, which is currently operating a single manufacturing shift under rigorous health and hygiene regimes. Measures have been put in place across the Goodwood site, including additional security and handwashing facilities, one-way systems for foot traffic and modified seating arrangements in cafés and other public areas. All staff are issued with facemasks, which must be worn at all times in production areas. In tandem with building ‘the best car in the world’, Rolls-Royce is also pleased to continue producing face visor and protective gown kits for frontline healthcare workers, as it has done since the earliest

days of the pandemic response. Having shut down operations voluntarily on 23 March 2020 to protect the workforce, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars became the first UK automotive manufacturer to restart production when it reopened on 4 May 2020. Client collections have resumed as lockdown restrictions are eased in the UK and elsewhere, and the number of patrons choosing to receive the keys to their new motor car in person at Goodwood is steadily returning. Earlier this week a client took delivery of a magnificent new Rolls-Royce Wraith, finished in Red Velvet Sparkle with a Saddlery Tan and contrasting Anthracite interior – the first time this combination has been commissioned in a Wraith – together with matching steering-wheel and door umbrellas. The car also boasts carefully curated Bespoke Black Badge elements including 21” Carbon Alloy Composite Wheels, Black Badge Treadplates and Dark Chrome Spirit of Ecstasy and Grille.

theAGENDA AMOUAGE PRESENTS INTERLUDE BLACK IRIS MAN: TRANQUILITY BORN IN A MOMENT OF CHAOS

12

Amouage has unveiled its latest creative introspective for men, Interlude Black Iris. Inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s famous painting of the eponymous name, Black Iris is a smooth new take on its popular 2012 predecessor, Interlude. The spicy, woody Eau de Parfum evokes an air of disorder while maintaining a sense of balance and tranquility through the inventive use of Orris, Frankincense and Myrrh. A truly orchestrated blend of technical skill and creative integrity brought to life by master perfumer Pierre Negrin, Interlude Black Iris represents a moment of internal harmony and self-reflection in a world of external chaos. A “ mouage is currently in what we like to call a 'creative interlude’ which makes Interlude Black Iris an appropriate first creation under the new stewardship of the brand. It takes time to understand the rich archives of a venerable house like Amouage and to be able to define a new direction that brings something new and interesting, while still staying true to the soul of the brand. That’s why Interlude Black Iris is not a totally new narrative but rather an homage to the past with the promise of new beginnings,” expressed Renaud Salmon, Chief Experience Officer at Amouage. “With Interlude Black Iris, I wanted to express the original inspiration of the tension between harmony and disorder through a more balanced and considered approach. The original Interlude presents some strong colour blocks in its composition and I wanted to reveal less obvious facets of the composition to make the nuances and beautifully textured patina smoother.” Negrin explained, “Interlude Black Iris presents an odour profile that is less aromatic than the original Interlude. I reduced the rosemary note

and removed the oregano note. In the original Interlude there is a sweet citrus tone that I have rebalanced so as to not take away from the opulence of the iris. This makes Interlude Black Iris feel both richer and creamier, and in turn its evolution becomes fuller and more profound over time. The buttery creaminess of the iris note lasts throughout the evolution of the fragrance.” He added, “Orris absolute is one of the most expensive and exclusive raw materials a perfumer can use. Olfactively, iris brings refinement, power and richness. There is a particular kind of smoothness to the iris note that does not compromise the fragrance’s masculine feel. When used in combination with other notes, I find that there is an interesting licorice effect that is unique and brings with it an attractive texture and a novel olfactive perspective.” Pierre Negrin is no stranger to Amouage having crafted no less than 13 of its fragrances over the years. His repertoire includes Interlude Man, Journey Woman and Man, Sunshine Man, Imitation Woman, Portrayal Woman and Man as well as Opus VI, VII, VIII, IX and XI. Interlude Black Iris is a manifestation of Amouage’s creative transformation. The new fragrance echoes its very own soundtrack, created by Belgian music producer Copal, while its captivating imagery was captured and romanticized through the lens of Russian visual artist Daniil Lavrovski. Interlude Black Iris Man is available in 100ml Eau de Parfum and can be ordered online at www.amouage.com or from Amouage shops around the world. www.theciin.com

Tell us about your education.

I have studied till 10th and I have changed at least 9 schools in my life. the rest of the main education happened with life.

What are your favourite childhood memories?

I don't remember much of my childhood but i do remember these flashes of memories with my grandparents, like I used to lay down on my grandmothers(mom side) stomach, every night in the open ground we have this small bed laid out side we could see all the stars and the moon and we slept in nature and I still remember how quickly I used to fall asleep on her stomach, as I loved sleeping on the stomach like a small monkey child and I also remember my grandfather(mom side) how he used to drop me to school because to drop me to school he had to obviously give me a lot of things and convince me to go to school because I was really pampered by these them.

Who inspired you to take up acting as a career?

16

My dad actually wanted me to be an actress in the beginning and of course I used to watch a lot of films so I think a lot of actresses... watching Sri Devi growing up, watching Mumtaz growing up, these were 2 of my favorite legendary actresses. I guess somewhere deeply I was subconsciously inspired but I was not aware of it till my dad told me we were shifting to Mumbai and then I joined acting school and I was very young and I had no idea what I wanted to become so when I started my career also I was 13 years old and I don't think at that time our mind was fully built to decide what I wanted to be, so he took this decision that I was good at acting and I was, also in dancing and all these things, I was very fond of art... anything related to art, films or dancing, so when he saw all of that he thought that I could be an actress hence he put me to acting school and gave me this big dream that I can become an actress.

When and how did you get into acting?

When I was 13 I started. I took my first year acting course from an acting school and before that I took a short acting course from Baby Naz. She was a phenomenal child actress of her time and she had done a lot of films, very famous and god bless her soul. she taught me not only acting but to even speak in English

Please briefly describe your journey so far?

My journey has been very interesting with lots of ups and downs, I've seen so much in life since I started it at a very young age. I got to see the reality of life at an early stage of my life. I think I have had a little too much to know at that young age when I could hardly process anything and that somehow was a little overwhelming to me as I grew up. when you see so much of reality which most of the times is very different from the fairy tales we read and our family teaches us and we grow up to and it can be damaging and it was damaging for me, I really feel that the children should be taught about the reality of the world from the beginning

What projects are you now working on?

Well, i was supposed to start shooting for 3 projects before the pandemic hit unfortunately now no idea when everything is going to get normal and when our film shoots are going to start slowly. I think as things get better I’ll have a better idea of what I’m going to start shooting first and it’s kind of dangerous quiet scary to be honest I have been contemplating a lot to sort of where and how we’re going to do it so yeah it’s kind of dicey.

If not an actor, what will you be?

So many things I mean a couple of years ago perhaps I wouldn’t be able to say this cause I wasn’t aware of a lot of my qualities nor of my talents I thought I was just good as an actor I may be what do you say devaluated myself quite a lot but I recently learned that I’m extremely good as an interior designer I’m extremely good as a business woman as an entrepreneur, I do have a very business-oriented mind, i am extremely good as a producer of movies and I am extremely talented as in a lot of post-production work that is required to make a movie. I would say making a movie I would rather be making movies or simultaneously working in as an interior designer and maybe having some different kinds of businesses which I am now already into.

Best thing about being an actress?

Best thing, to be able to connect with so many people, actually the best thing is to be able to live so many life’s as one person I mean just by being an actor I’m able to live so many different characters I’m able to feel so much more than under a normal that a known actor would ever be able to feel and also live their life’s entirely in a way wherever that person goes we get to go wherever that person lives we get to live however many people exist in that person we get to interact with all those people even if those people are artists they are also living others life’s so I think we get to live so many life’s as one person and just by the shear idea of so many dimensions as one character is just outstanding

..And the hardest?

The hardest is also the same thing actually it’s ironical that you know the same, we are just part of the same coin. The same thing can also be very traumatic and it can and also kind of, if you’re not aware enough that you are living other characters and you are not those characters, if you don’t get lost in those characters it can destroy your this birth that you are living because it can create a complete confusion, a complete chaos in the mind if you just are kind of loose control over yourself and you get confused in all those characters that you have played it can be extremely damaging to you as this person that you are, and that I think is the hardest.

What do you like to do away from acting?

I like to do interior designing a lot as I said I’m an artist I like to create things, I like to make places beautiful, homes beautiful, spaces beautiful, or make them better if I can in any way and also the awareness of letting go when I can’t otherwise I’ll reach a state of OCD which is not good at all, which is also bad for mental health. So yeah, my meditations help me a lot to keep the balance, so hence I like to do interior designing I like to watch movies I like to travel a lot

How was your experience working with Amir Khan during 'Mann'?

It was an amazing experience, Amir is a very thorough artist, he is one of my most favorite actors so I was in awe of him when I was working, but he made sure that I look at him as a human being and not as a superstar, he would play games with me and he would play silly you know kids games with me or joke with me or make me feel comfortable with the whole unit so whatever small time that I spent with him I was, I thoroughly enjoyed, , I always will look up to him even as a human being because he’s so easy going and he doesn’t have this starry attitude he’s a very easy person and I think I also would like to give some credit to his family for that because his family is also very simple people they made some of the biggest films in our industry but they are extremely simple at heart.

Which Bollywood actor are you keen to work with and why?

So, I’m keen to work with a lot of Bollywood actors currently Ayushman Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, for the fact that these guys are brilliant actors Shahrukh Khan they’re brilliant actors they are good people I mean they seem like they’re fun to work with and professional and I’m excited to learn something from them

The hardest scene you've ever filmed?

I’ve always got very hard hitting roles, like every role that I did they were difficult to do they were hardest of, I mean if you see, but what was the hardest, I think the hardest scenes that I ever shot were from my latest film which is not released yet and I can’t take the name of that film till it goes for a release but they were a lot of scenes from that film they we’re really hard they were mentally very hard on me in fact after shooting that film I went into quite deep depression for a month

Name your dream role you'd like to do one day?

So many roles, I want to create dream roles I always feel like something that Sridevi did in Miss India was a dream role for me it was fantastic or something that Mumtaz Ji did in Khilona was a dream role there was something like Meena Kumari doing Sahib Bibi and Ghulam it was a dream role or something like what Rani Mukherji did in Black dream role I mean these women they created dream roles so I definitely don’t want to do the same things because they are legendary in what they did and I don’t want to touch anything that’s legendary it will be stupid of me but I would like to create my roles which becomes dream roles for

other people hence I would like to definitely do some roles which are very powerful and that has been my main

Three things that make you happy? Love, Kindness, and Honesty.

Do you have any tricks or routines to stay healthy and beautiful?

Yes, I meditate a lot so if you want to glow from within you got to become aware of yourself you got to become aware of your worth you got to become aware of who you really are and accept it whole heartedly and then the glow will forever remain hence that will keep you beautiful my normal routine to keep my outer beauty is just very simple I like to keep my skin healthy and clean by drinking a lot of water keeping myself hydrated and eating the right kind of food

You also started a private fashion label named 'Saisha', why 'Saisha' and who would you say is the right audience for your brand?

20

Well I did start a private fashion named Saisha, why Saisha I just like this name Saisha because it was just so beautiful it means goddess of life I think and I felt like since I am doing my brand is for women and I feel like every women is a goddess of life and hence I kept this name. The right audience for my brand is every woman, every woman has the right to look pretty to look gorgeous to look exclusive hence I started that brand you would find only one piece each with exclusive so I feel every person is unique and exclusive and hence they deserve to wear dresses that are exclusive and that you will not see anywhere else so yeah that was the brand but I ran it for 3 years but then I shut it cause I couldn’t handle there was too much going on in my life and now I just make clothes for myself & for my friends

We also learnt that you own a production house. How did you make this decision? Was it a good decision?

Yes I do, my Production House is called Shama Sikandar Films Private Limited, I always wanted to have a production house since I entered this line because a lot of people used to misbehave if we went for work if you're a new comer if you don’t have enough value in their eyes they would really ill treat you and I felt like one day when I’ll become capable of opening a Production House I will open a Production House and I will have all nice people appointed in my Production House and nobody should be at least degraded or disrespected in that Production House whether we can give them a work or no that’s a separate thing but they should be respected first as human beings.

What do you want to achieve next?

What I want to achieve next is the well-deserving stardom that I deserve and thankfully I am aware of it now and I am giving all my energy towards that also to be able to achieve that special place in people’s heart where I am not only respected as an artist but as a human being and as a person who did something for the society I want to be able to reach my highest potential and to reach and to be able to fulfill the goal of the universe through me whatever I am here for I would like to fulfill that purpose of the universe on a larger scale so that’s what I want to achieve now. FOR FALL 2020, GIVENCHY UNVEILS THE ESSENTIAL ‘ANTIGONA SOFT’ HANDBAG

22

For Fall 2020, the House of Givenchy presents a more supple variation on a House icon, the bestselling Antigona handbag. The latest addition to a family of accessories named for the heroine of Greek mythology, the Antigona Soft is designed to accentuate the mood of relaxed elegance that permeates the Fall 2020 ready-to-wear collections by Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller. This supple iteration in smooth calfskin retains the signature geometry and distinctive triangle patch of its elder sibling while offering a serene, nonchalant counterpoint to the sleek, architectural construction of the original Antigona. www.theciin.com

23

Echoing the second-skin sensuality and versatility of a favorite leather coat, the Antigona Soft is at once feminine and masculine, with a cocoon-like body that nods to Givenchy’s couture heritage of elegant lines and generous volumes. With a slouchy, flowing shape and enveloping straps as inviting as an embrace, it conveys strength and confidence while moving seamlessly from day bag to weekender. Relaxed though it may appear, the Antigona Soft is as practical as it is stylish: medium and large styles feature an ample central compartment with dual zip closures, an inner pocket for keeping important cards to hand, side straps with turn-lock fastenings, two top handles and a removeable shoulder strap for versatility of wear (hand-held, over-the-shoulder, or cross-body). A scaled-down version likewise accommodates all the essentials, with a zipped compartment, a card pocket and an adjustable, removable strap to adapt to three styles of wear. The Antigona Soft comes in timeless black, white, pearl gray, aubergine and midnight blue as well as a seasonal palette of candy pink, dune, military green and ice blue. Directional variations include styles in dip-dyed leather, vintage leather with hand-placed studs; embroidered, printed stripes; a lustrous gradient gold metallic finish on black leather, and a bag in woven cord and leather.

32

New York, on April 20th & 21st, Fashinnovation hosted their first virtual Worldwide Talks 2020 Event, which focused on the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the fashion industry as it relates to us as citizens of the world. The Event also brought together international business leaders, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and fashion designers, to inspire and ignite conversations that lead to revolutionary change within the industry. As 106,000 viewers from around the globe watched simultaneously, Jordana Guimarães as a Co-Founder of Fashinnovation was on hand to graciously open The Global Fashion Summit 2020. The global virtual summit was generously open to the public, and approximately 35,000+ people registered to attend. During the conference with more than 90 panelists and speakers, the guests shared opinions, thoughts and suggestions to address sustainability, ethics and leadership from the top-down to consider how the current crisis is affecting each sector of the fashion industry supply chain, and ways of adaptation to thrive during these times. The part of The Middle East representative was taken by Saudi Designer and Ambassador of Arab Fashion Council, Arwa Alammari, in consideration of Fashion as Inclusivity and Womens’ Empowerment in challenging climates. The legendary fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg in conversation with Imran Amed founder and Editor in Chief of The Business of Fashion, closed out the online conference with words of wisdom for legacy, business and empowerment. www.theciin.com

The keynote speakers and panelists included: Giulio Bonazzi: Chairman & CEO, Aquafil/ Econyl, Mara Hoffman, Sara Kent: Senior Correspondent, The Business of Fashion (BoF), Nikki and Brie Bella: Founder, Birdiebee, The Bella Twins, Tracey Greenstein: Senior Business Reporter, Sustainability Solutions, WWD; Susan Rockefeller, Michael P. Londrigan, and fashion icon Diane Von Furstenberg who spoke about a variety of issues impacting the world of fashion and technology today. The global fashion industry leaders discussed topics such as: Industry Change, Inclusivity, Social Impact, Reinventing Relationships, Sustainability, and Transparency.

33 Today Jordana Guimaraes gave an interview for our Middle Eastern readers:

Jordana when was the idea born for the Worldwide Online Fashion Summit?

persons, did you meet them all in your real life?

The idea was born 4 weeks ago and started being put into action a bit over 3 weeks ago. We really wanted to make sure it was done quickly so that it would ensure the messaging of hope & sustainability could be spread out to millions and create great impact.

A few of them yes but lots of them “no”. We only connected with some during Covid19. Goes to show you the power of everyone being in lockdown and becoming more receptive to meet one another with transparency. (Virtually)

As we know your husband Marcelo Guimaraes is also your working partner, what’s his role in Fashinnovation project?

Sustainable fashion is it the new mission of the fashion industry?

My role has always been the relationship building, assisting and maintaining as well as community building and Marcelo’s role is more in the business operations/entrepreneurial activities (this is what makes the perfect marriage between us - both as husband/wife and partners).

An impressive number of speakers during the Online Summit of over 90 June, 2020

We believe it’s the new mission of the world. None of us have ever experienced something of this sort before and all of us I believe are realizing how important it is to take good care of ourselves and the planet

Shall we expect one more following Summit in 2020? Yes - stay tuned as news will come soon!!

Both strong and feminine, these women are not afraid to make their voices heard. With intense black, this stone is a symbol of strength. The stone reflects the strong character of those adopting this mantra. This bold move of Lucky Move Colours was a creative challenge for Valérie Messika, the daughter of a diamond dealer, who has always stayed true to her gem of choice. ‘I have replaced the gold with an ornamental stone, but it is not faceted like a diamond. It’s a first, but for this decidedly playful collection designed to bring good luck, adding color seemed like an obvious choice,’ she says, ‘each shade is based on my favourite colors and the energy they give off.’ The Lucky Move Colours collection comes in 9 colors with 9 supporting mantras to embrace a different facets of the Messika woman’s personality.

#BOUCHERONTAKECARE Maison Boucheron offers a little tenderness with its peony flower, symbol of re-found freedom In these unsettling times, Maison Boucheron would like to sow some seeds of tenderness. A simple gesture; the offer of a peony flower, symbol of beauty, femininity and protection across the world. The Maison would like everyone to have the opportunity to print an original sketch by Claire Choisne, as well as the chance to print it in 3D form. The flower may be worn as a brooch, in the material and colour of your choice. With this simple gesture, Boucheron once again displays its deep attachment to nature and her benefits. Please introduce yourself to our readers. Hi, I am The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Supporter for the Creative Economy. I am an award winning business woman with several leadership awards such as ‘20 under 40 Influential Business Leaders in Ghana’, ‘Feminine Ghana Achievement Award’, ‘Woman 2.1 Summit Award’; 40 under 40 influential business leader in consulting; 100 Young Influential Africans; I was the youngest African to be inducted into the African Leadership Hall of Fame and am part of the Young Leaders Circle for Milken Institute and has been a member of Young Presidents Organization(YPO). I am the co-founder and Managing Partner of Impact Fund for African Creatives (IFFAC) – a 100 million Euro fund that will invest in creative businesses across Africa, with an Accelerator in partnership with UN- ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative. All of this involvement with creative industries and investing in fashion and design businesses through AFF and Frallain has equipped me with extensive experience in understanding what is needed in the industry and collaborating with key players to equip the new generation with the opportunities, insights and skills to thrive.

As a founder of African Fashion Foundation do you feel that African designers are ready for the upcoming economic changes in the Fashion industry?

54

Often the key to unlocking new opportunities and promoting growth is to review and revisit old concepts and ideas and see where innovation and new elements of creativity can be added. The affects and aftermath of this pandemic I think definitely encourages sustainability efforts in the industry as well as the advancement of collaboration and digitization. People are looking at themselves and the world through different lenses and I doubt after such a pandemic, people can just go back to business as usual. The world has already seen an improvement from the enforced rest - less emissions and clearer seas; and the fashion industry will have to pay attention to these responses – this is the change people have been wanting to see. In the fashion industry I think production and materials will continue to undergo a series of evolutions with the development of ethical and sustainable fabrics that use wastage in clever ways or use vegan based materials like bamboo or even pineapple leaves. The retail and presentation aspect of fashion will also face a lot scrutiny. Maybe the many seasons and fashion shows will come to an end with more focus on buying less but better with

By @yassa_ksa

improved accessibility and therefore encouraging brands to be creative, sustainable and digitally focused about the way they sell and present their products.

As you know The Middle East also has a lot of African designers, did you work with any of them? Not yet, but I am looking forward to working with some great talents from the Middle East in the near future as I have some interesting projects and collaborations lined up there.

Kayayei Fashion Training Programme- can you tell us more about the project? AFF have collaborated with The Lotte Accra to create a project that aims to empower, equip and encourage young street children and females by pairing them up with some great talent in the fashion accessory and garment industry in West Africa for a skills exchange programme. With the support of the Adonai Children’s Development Foundation (ACDF) the aim is to present a collaborative new collection. The young street women (Kayayei) will be working in the designer’s studio and be trained in key sewing and production skills all whilst contributing to a collection that will be showcased internationally. This project is a social impact venture to empower the Kayayei woman and show a way that fashion can be used for good. This inaugural collection will kickstart an ongoing partnership with The Adonai Children Development Foundation and the Kayayei women to equip them with key skills and reintegrate them back into the community. In a recent report that included a focused group discussion with 36 Kayayei in Accra, participants stated they live wherever they can find somewhere to lay their heads and, in most cases, this is in open stations – making themselves susceptive to health and safety dangers. Giving them a skill and long-term job puts them in a better position to make consistent and reliable income as well as develop a skill that can eventually get them off the streets. ACDF will be supporting the young girls in this process and helping them find safe accommodation. The final collections will be showcased and made available for purchase in The Lotte retail space in Central Accra following the presentations in Lagos, Dubai and New York.

What is Your personal vision about the New Fashion Future? It has been exciting to see the growing influence and acknowledgement Africa has had in the fashion industry. This beautiful integration of arts and culture from the continent is important as fashion cannot truly be global if all the pieces of the puzzle are not there. This emergence of Africa becoming an equal and prominent player in the creative economy is my vision for the New Fashion Future.

OMEGA’S ANTIMAGNETIC TOURBILLON IS A WATCHMAKING BREAKTHROUGH Throughout OMEGA’s iconic history, the renowned Swiss watchmaker has earned a special reputation for its advancements in the art of Tourbillon craftsmanship. Today, the next chapter in the story is unveiled, through the release of the new De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition. The exceptional timepiece is OMEGA’s first ever Master Chronometer certified manual-winding central Tourbillon. Not only does this certification assure the Swiss industry’s highest standard of precision and performance, but it also serves as a testament to OMEGA’s expert watchmakers, who have crafted a tourbillon cage that is able to keep rotating even under a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss. The skilled watchmakers also set the Tourbillon’s speed to one revolution per minute allowing the display of seconds, which is essential for achieving certification. Two extraordinary feats in Tourbillon creation! Customers can view the impressive OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 2640 through the sapphire crystal caseback, and also note its 3-day power reserve indicator. To add luxurious beauty, the bridges and mainplate are made from 18K Sedna™ gold, and have been hand-bevelled for a decorative finish.

www.theciin.com

Beyond the superb accuracy is the design, which incorporates the brand’s watchmaking expertise and advanced materials, including two precious alloys made famous by OMEGA. Presented on a black leather strap, the 43.00 mm central casebody, buckle logo and crown logo are made from 18K Canopus™ gold – an exclusive white gold alloy, distinctive for its high brilliance, whiteness and longevity. Meanwhile, the lugs, bezel and caseback of the watch are formed in 18K Sedna™ gold - OMEGA’s own fiery rose gold alloy. The sun-brushed dial is also in 18K Sedna™ gold, but has been given a captivating dark shade, thanks to its black PVD treatment. Also unmistakable at the centre of the dial is the tourbillon cage with hand polished bevels in black ceramised titanium. This ingenious device drives the movements of the unique and mysterious hands, which give the timepiece its incomparable OMEGA style. Each timepiece has been handcrafted by a select group of horologists at OMEGA’s Atelier Tourbillon, taking around an entire month of dedicated work to complete. This latest industry-changing wristwatch is the next major accomplishment in OMEGA’s Tourbillon history. Other historical highlights include the firstever wristwatch Tourbillon calibre, which was created by OMEGA in 1947 and entered into the precision competitions at three major European Observatories. These calibres obtained excellent results, even setting a record in Geneva in 1950. Almost 50 years later, in 1994, OMEGA introduced the first self-winding Central Tourbillon wristwatch, with the Tourbillon carriage positioned in the middle of the watch. A decade later,

63

in 2004, OMEGA would produce the first Tourbillon wristwatch to be Chronometer certified. The new De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition comes with OMEGA’s full 5-year warranty, and is delivered in a special box with a travel pouch and watch crown winder. There is also a certificate that mentions the specific number of each watch.

Formal elegance: The new Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum for watch aficionados and travelers Montblanc unveils the new Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum timepieces that interpret one of the most contemporary and useful complications – the world time complication – in a distinctive way. The Spirit of Formal Elegance At Montblanc, our classical watches are defined by “Elegance” and Montblanc’s historical pedigree. Our Spirit of Formal Elegance, which is embodied in the Star Legacy product line, is inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The current timepieces include round, polished pebble-shaped cases, like those found on antique pocket watches; onion-shaped crowns with the recognisable Montblanc emblem; refined dials with the iconic exploding star guilloché pattern; and Sfumato alligator leather straps coming from the Pelletteria, Florence (Italy). To complete the collection, and the newly launched Star Legacy Automatic Date and Chronograph Day & Date, that also come in 43mm, Montblanc is introducing two Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum models, reinterpreting the Orbis Terrarum timepiece originally launched in 2014, bringing, style and legibility. One version in stainless steel features a blue aesthetic, and the other one in 18 K rose gold limited to 500 pieces is in shades of dark brown and light brown. The watches feature a modern, in-house world time complication that is both practical and easy-to-use, and presents a classical and modern watchmaking style. Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum Orbis Terrarum comes from Latin, meaning “globe”, “earth”, and “world”, and provides the inspiration for the new Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum. The term refers to the first geographical texts and maps that humankind produced in the first millenary after JC. The Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum timepieces www.theciin.com

out above the seas and oceans providing 3-dimensional aesthetics to the timepieces. It is surrounded by a ring depicting the 24 cities. The day & night disc rotates below this sapphire disc. In the new models, on the steel version, it changes from light blue for the day to dark blue for the night and light brown to dark brown on the 18K gold version, indicating day & night in all 24 time zones of the world. Reminiscent of the sea, the center of the day & night disc is now decorated with waves using the flinqué-froissé guilloché technique. Additionally, a red-tipped triangle has been added at 12 o’clock and points towards the city of the owner’s local time zone. In line with the codes of the Star Legacy product line, the leaf-shaped hour and minute hands as well as the dots every five minutes on the flange minute track have been redesigned and enhanced with SuperLuminova®** coating providing visibility both during day and night. How does the world time complication work? The crown position 1 is for winding the watches and is achieved by rotating the crown clockwise; position 2 adjusts the hour hand that jumps in one-hour increments; and position 3 adjusts the minutes and hours at the same time.

81

come in a stainless steel case or in 18K rose gold and are powered by an automatic movement equipped with a Manufacture complication, developed in-house by Montblanc’s engineers. The idea was to create timepieces with a Manufacture world time function that would be simple to set and intuitive to read. Once set, they indicate all 24 time zones at a glance and shows whether the cities are in daytime or nighttime. While travelling, the watches are easy to set thanks to a single pusher. This is a playful complication that will make the experience of travel more enjoyable and inspire people to become global citizens. Furthermore, the dials feature clear and refined color contrast from dark blue to light blue for the steel version and from brown to light brown for the limited edition. These evolutions bring richness and technics to the new timepieces. How is the dial made? In terms of design and construction, Montblanc has reinterpreted its Orbis Terrarum complication, first launched in 2014, bringing legibility and style to the novelties. The dials have been completely redesigned allowing high visibility and aesthetics while keeping their face with the two overlapping rotating discs. The dials are constructed in two layers that rotate with the movement’s mechanism. The upper rotating disc is crafted out of sapphire crystal and is partially transparent. In these new versions, for better visibility and contrast, the sapphire disc bears a rhodium or rose gold metallic coating applied directly on it to make the Northern Hemisphere continents and meridians stand June, 2020

Three Stunning Pieces of Jewelry created by Anna Hu to be sold by Diamonds That Care to raise funds against Covid-19 Christie’s Online Auction to run from 3 to 13 July

88

An online auction of three stunning pieces of jewelry, created by Anna Hu, will take place from July 3 -13 with proceeds going to support healthcare workers fighting against the coronavirus. The pieces will be sold by Diamonds That Care, the newly launched social responsibility initiative of Alrosa, the world’s largest diamond mining company. The initiative’s main idea is that every diamond should help those in need. Ms. Hu created these unique pieces exclusively for this charity project using rich brown diamonds extracted by Alrosa in Yakutia, a region in the Siberian Far East. Proceeds from the sale will assist healthcare workers who continue to work at the center of efforts to combat the pandemic. The project is organized in cooperation with the non-profit charitable organization Diamonds Do Good.

“We are living in a different world, where old divides are no longer important because we all face the same threat. By working with Christie’s, which operates in all the regions affected by the coronavirus, and the brilliant Chinese jewelry artist Anna Hu, we are raising funds for a USbased charitable organization supporting activities in various countries. This project is a living example of how countries and stakeholders can unite in their efforts to help those in need," said Sergey Ivanov, CEO of Alrosa. www.theciin.com

“Many people are in distress, and no one can remain indifferent to this pandemic. The world needs positivity, empathy, a sense of support, care and love. I hope to express all these feelings in my three pieces of jewellery. I was inspired and grateful to have received the opportunity to work on something larger than simply beautiful jewelry, something meaningful and with heart,” Anna Hu commented.

Board President of Diamonds Do Good, Anna Martin says: “We are honored to be associated with this project which will spread positivity and hope and show that diamonds truly do good”.

A DREAM BEDROOM DESIGN BY DDR

114

When it comes to interior design the Sochi, Russia-based studio Design, Decor, Repair (DDR) offers stunning spaces executed with precision and care and a dose of some serious finesse. Many say the living room is the heart of a home, however, most will agree that their bedroom is a personal retreat that is just as essential. Perhaps when you think of a dream bedroom you imagine only a plush bed, but to create a true bedroom oasis color choice is also paramount. This bedroom design by DDR’s Valeria Mikheeva is a perfect example of a relaxing yet cheerful color scheme perfect for rest, but also far from a room full of boring neutral tones. The focal point of this dreamy bedroom is a fabulous accent wall featuring a beautiful soft pink and cool green and teal wallpaper with gold accents reminiscent of natural gemstone.

www.theciin.com

The rest of the room’s walls are painted a calming lavender with gold accents for added glamour. Continuing the calming vibes the bed is upholstered in a delicious mint green and the cream-colored curtains are finished with a wide whimsical feathered band.

Contrasting the rooms relaxing tones DDR added splashes of jewel tones, livening the space and furthering the space’s sense of glamour. A vibrant purple area rug, a golden oval bench and vanity with a stunning turquoise Chandra chair by KOKET complete the color scheme. Light is key to color, and DDR knows just how to add light to finish of the room. With a lighted mirror frame, uplighting from beneath the ceiling moldings, luxurious nightside pendants and a stunning chandelier the room comes to life. And through the use of glass closet doors showcasing lit shelving, DDR completes this enchanting bedroom oasis.

Glorietta Sydney, Australia Alexander & CO. Inspired by the client’s love of all things Italian, Glorietta is a bar and 220-seat restaurant designed to shape a corporate precinct into a Eurocentric agricultural memory. Glorietta involved the challenging transformation of a stark, voluminous, glass box within a new landmark tower; void of history and restricted by poor street visibility. As the podium tenant, Glorietta presented various key constraints. A cold and commercial character, including an open ceiling to allow for the base build utilities to remain effective and compliant. These obstacles made our teamwork to craft a sense of identity, intimacy, and warmth.

Brief, Design Solution and Challenges

118

The owner had ambitious plans for a new Italian inspired Sydney restaurant and bar: it must be a catalyst for change, inspiring hospitality offerings into a corporate area previously lacking any. Contemporary yet classic, it must be a ‘come for a drink, stay for a meal kinda place’ and create a warm agricultural ancestry and tone, all within the building's pre-established constraints. The client was keen to deconstruct the vast, open, and commercial space into separate, more intimate zones to encourage various functionalities and dining options. A key challenge presented itself in the form of the space being void of any existing character; to counterbalance this, zoning was achieved by applying a range of floor treatments to contain each space. From polished concrete around the bar and northern dining areas to timber boards in the central dining space and concrete slabs surrounding the kitchen, each variation in materials helped to distinguish the separate zones - as well as build personality and interest. The large scale, volume, view, and elevated floor area also became advantages to creating theatre and spatial uniqueness throughout the venue. In support of this, the clever use of five different seating options further established each zone. From the high timber tables and stools at the bar, long communal tables and the built-in olivegreen leather banquettes, rust-red-toned tables, and individual bentwood chairs. Varied seating options offer intimacy and choice depending on patrons dining and drinking needs. A visible, traditional pizza oven and open kitchen capture the energy of a classic Italian restaurant a nd the theatrics that accompany this. A dining counter and bar ribbon the entry - which not only frames the entry but adds to the atmosphere and v isual intrigue. A central bar was strategically p ositioned for maximum street visibility and t o contain the venue’s footprint, scale, a nd proportion. A n earthy, organic, and warm p alette was achieved via the careful selection of contemporary, yet durable, f urnishings and fittings. Tonally gentle d esign elements soften the space. R ecycled timber, olive and apricot l eathers and tiling, ru st-red tables, b rass, creams, and whea t-colored linen curtains encircle the venue, while a vaulted rattan ‘cloudscape’ obscures the impact of the silver ceiling panels and offers yet another layer of warmth and natural texture to the space. G lorietta’s narrative i s one of s oft agricultural nostalgia which seamlessly e nhances the otherwise hard-edged c ommercial volume. The innovative t ransformation of Glori etta from an a morphous commercial ve nue, into an intimate restaurant now appeals to the afternoon spritz seekers, late-night dinners, and the casual pizza crowd. G lorietta plays an impo rtant role in a cting as a cultural re ference point for the business precinct it resides in, e ncouraging other busin esses into t he area and further ac tivating the surrounding locale.

www.theciin.com

Innovation, Sustainability, and Beauty Due to Glorietta’s elevated position, civic scale, and commercial character, the buildings tenancy had no sympathetically inherent texture or softness, no history, and no context on which to draw the design concept from. Faced with a blank canvas and multiple challenges in building an inviting, friendly int imacy and warmth, the team set about crafting a design beneficial to patrons, floor staff, and the wider local community. Ele ments such as the bar, which ribbons either side of the entry, were purposefully positioned and hugely beneficial in attracting street traffic and space activation, building room density, and in containing both footprint and scale. While the inclusion of other key elements such as a traditional pizza oven, open kitchen and dining counter all gave the framework to build a lively environment and the ability to incorporate separate zones. In terms of beauty and aesthetics, Glorietta was softened with tonally gentle materials and color palettes. Timbers, olive-hued leathers and tiles, rattan ban quette with apricot tones, rusty red tables, brass, cream render and paint, and cream linens covering the windows are all evidence of a beautiful and considered space. Sus tainability played an important role too, materials were kept to a min imum, all-natural, designed for longevity, and sustainably harvested where possible. An ingenious, vaulted ‘cloud sky’ of woven rattan covers the majority of the ceiling, providing additional warmth and organic shape while enclosing the whole restaurant by lowering the room-scale and warming the lighting. Rattan is one of the fastest renewable tropical woods available and is manufactured in low-tech non-polluting facilities. Wit hin Glorietta, beauty and sustainability collide with the salvaging and application of materials. Reclaimed hardwoods feature as bar cladding, with old stone slabs salvaged by the builder used as kitchen surround flooring. In a final, decorative flourish, a round Art Deco-inspired family table with sentimental value was inserted as a corner feature. In an innovative sense, Glorietta’s story is a social one that highlights the effectiveness of combining clever interior design practices within a venue’s surrounding context. Glorietta is a lively and inviting hospitality space that will generate a ripple effect in driving other dining and drinking venues into the area to ensure ample social and commercial benefits for the local community. This outcome of connecting with the community and reinvigorating the Australian hospitality industry is particularly important during these uncertain times.

B

entley Motors has built the 20,000th Bentayga since the start of production and customers deliveries in 2016, with the Middle East establishing itself as one of the key markets for this exceptional SUV, with total sales of 2,315 units over this time. The Bentayga launched the luxury SUV benchmark, offering customers the ultimate Grand Touring experience, unrestricted by landscape or conditions. Firas Kandalaft, Head of Marketing and Communications at Bentley Middle East, Africa and India, commented: “Since its arrival in the Middle East in the second quarter of 2016, the multi-award-winning Bentayga has been a major hit with our customers and has established itself as Bentley’s best-selling model in the region. Furthermore, its regional importance has been emphasised by the creation of two exquisite limited editions: the Bentayga Falconry by Mulliner and Bentayga Mulliner Pearl of The Gulf.” Driving growth of the luxury SUV market sector Over the past four years, 20,000 Bentaygas have been handcrafted by the skilled workforce at the Bentley factory in Crewe. Each one has spent more than 100 hours on a dedicated production line, with a team of 230 craftspeople meticulously assembling every Bentayga by hand. The introduction of five derivatives and four different powertrains has provided greater opportunities for customers old and new to Bentley, to add to their portfolio. The Bentayga’s diverse abilities means that it has outsold all of its key competitors over the last four years and cemented the acclaim of the pinnacle luxury SUV. www.theciin.com

Bentayga – The ‘Game Changer’ Recognition came soon after its launch, with the Bentayga winning the ‘Game Changer’ award from a leading automotive publication for setting new standards and defying convention, due to its unique combination of luxury and go-anywhere ability. Acclaim followed in the Middle East, with the Bentayga being named Middle East Car of The Year (MECOTY) for 2017 in the best large premium SUV category, its third award win in the region that year alone. Never before had a vehicle so coherently combined genuine luxury with go-anywhere driving ability. The development programme for the Bentayga, ranged across five continents. From the dirt and gravel of South Africa to the muddy fields of Cheshire, and from -30°C in the frozen North Cape to searing 50°C desert heat, the Bentayga’s ability to perform on any surface and in the most extreme conditions was proven. Bentley’s luxury SUV was even tested among the sand dunes of the Middle East to ensure the car could perform at its best in the region. One of the key successes of the Bentayga was the introduction of Bentley Dynamic Ride – the world’s first electric active roll control technology that utilises an unrivalled 48V system. While conventional anti-roll bars present a compromise between body control and ride comfort, Bentley’s adaptive and reactive system allows the Bentayga to be both dynamically capable and comfortable for all occupants at all times. The Bentayga offers the widest range of on- and off-road drive settings of any vehicle via Bentley’s Drive Dynamics Mode and optional Responsive Off-Road Setting. Extraordinary adventures and pastimes The Bentayga’s ability allows customers to explore unimaginable places in exquisite luxury. Examples of

123 events that showcased its remarkable ability included Bentley’s ‘Extraordinary World’ week-long drive across Chile and Bolivia in September 2016, an off-road adventure in Iceland in a fleet of Bentayga V8s in 2018, and Guy Smith demonstrating the pace of the Bentayga V8 on Rømø Beach in Denmark whilst racing two Kitesurfing World Champions. Customers can personalise their vehicles in line with their pastimes, via Mulliner – Bentley’s bespoking and coachbuilding division. A number of limited editions have been commissioned, including several bespoke edititions for the Middle East. Introduced in 2019, with only five exquisite W12-powered models being handbuilt, the Bentayga Mulliner Pearl of The Gulf was inspired by the Arabian Gulf’s rich pearl diving heritage. Two years earlier, Bentley revealed the ultimate accessory for the Middle East falconry enthusiast, the Bentayga Falconry by Mulliner.

Power, records and agility At launch, an all-new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine combined efficiency and refinement to deliver effortless grand touring ability. With 608 PS (600 bhp / 447kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb. ft) it accelerated the SUV to a top speed of 187 mph (301 km/h). The innovative Bentley V8 engine was also calibrated to suit this exceptionally capable SUV. Powerful and efficient, with seamless power delivery, it provides an effortlessly engaging drive – both on and off the road. It delivers an impressive 542 bhp (550 PS) of power, and maximum torque of 770 Nm (568 lb ft), taking it to a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h). The Bentayga claimed the outright record for a production SUV at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in 2018 in Colorado, USA. Driven by two-time champion Rhys Millen, the Bentayga took nearly two minutes off the previous record. The Bentayga Speed is the most powerful and performanceoriented Bentayga to date, boosting maximum power from 608 PS in the existing 6.0-litre W12 twin-turbocharged model to 635 PS (626 bhp). With exceptional performance, comfort and handling, the maximum speed increased from 187 mph (301 km/h) to 190 mph (306 km/h).

What To Do... Burj Khalifa

Dubai Canal

Discover a truly unique view from the top. Standing 828 metres high, the Burj Khalifa is hard to miss. The world's tallest tower naturally dominates the Dubai skyline, but the true majesty of the building is best appreciated up close or, even better, from inside. On a clear day, the view from the observation deck on level 124 is absolutely stunning, topped only by the view from the luxurious At The Top Sky Lounge on the 148th floor.

Dubai Water Canal is a 3.2km long waterway extending from the Creek in Old Dubai through Business Bay before finding its way to the Arabian Gulf. Since opening in 2016, it's created 80,000sqm for public space and facilities, and a 12km cycling path. The Canal has become a popular visitor attraction with five pedestrian bridges that snake its way across the iconic waterway.

Dubai's desert

Dubai Parks and Resorts

Less than 20 minutes driving from the modernist streets of Downtown Dubai, you can experience the marvels of the Arabian desert, the original tourist attraction of Dubai. Take a desert safari Dubai-style with off-roading, quad biking and sandboarding followed by traditional barbecues, henna and camel rides. Or just drive out and experience the wonder of the desert on an adventure of your own. You can see Bedouin life first-hand at the Al Marmoom Bedouin Experience by Platinum Heritage.

Dubai has become a real entertainment paradise thanks to the opening of the Dubai Parks and Resorts. Children will not be able to contain their excitement in the labyrinth of enormous theme parks such as Motiongate, Bollywood Park, and Legoland theme and waterpark, while the adults can relax on Riverland Boulevard which is home to restaurants and exciting entertainment programmes.

MARC O’POLO celebrates its ORGANIC LAUNCH PARTY with PEGGY GOU in Stockholm MARC O’POLO celebrated a legendary ORGANIC LAUNCH PARTY in Stockholm with the help of top DJ Peggy Gou and some 300 international guests from the fashion scene. The event marked the beginning of the brand’s spring/summer 2020 campaign and the launch of its MODERN ORGANIC PRODUCTs. The journey to the unusual venue – which was kept secret until the last moment – formed an exciting prelude to the event. Shuttles took the guests to the VR-studio on a remote industrial estate. Between the towering industrial units, an old steel door opened to admit those on the exclusive guest list: international fashion icons like Caro Daur, Pernille Teisbaek, Sophia Roe, Jan Quammie, Carlijn Jacobs, Imruh Asha, Sasha Panika, Kosta Kara, Rabea Schif and many more rubbed shoulders with hipsters from Stockholm at the unpolished venue. Local DJs and, above all, international DJ Peggy Gou created a laid-back atmosphere with their sets. The party had been the talk of the town for weeks thanks in part to its secret location, exclusive guest list and headline DJ. Ahead of the main launch, the fashion crowd gathered at the new MARC O’POLO concept store in Stockholm – Humlegårdsgatan 19 – for a warm-up event. In addition to the new monothematic store concept with its minimalist design, the premium modern casual brand with Scandinavian roots is presenting its MODERN ORGANIC PRODUCTs. This collection is made entirely from organic cotton and is the focus of the latest campaign, which was directed by Mikael Jansson and features Anna Ewers, Fei Fei Sun, Parker van Noord and Keiron Caynes. The absolute highlight of the collection is an organic overshirt with artwork from the exclusive ORGANIC LAUNCH PARTY. Several pieces from the limited party edition were worn by guests dancing to Peggy Gou’s beat on yesterday’s dance floor.

The positive indications which were at work in May continue through June, especially where your love-life is concerned – you’ll feel well settled and in tune with your partner. The financial situation looks set fair, too – unless you allow a particularly generous impulse to get the better of you! If anything does start bugging you, give vent to your feelings rather than bottling them up, and direct your comments straight at the person with whom they’ll take most effect. Your words won’t fall on deaf ears, though maybe the ears will turn light red with irritation because their possessor will know that you’re in the right! You’ll make most effect if you speak out between the 12th and 15th.

An emphasis on money this month – and a positive one which suggests that an investment of some kind will pay off. This doesn’t necessarily mean the stock exchange: maybe a lucky bet, or just an unexpected windfall from a chance you took ages ago. But this same astrological indication could be interpreted to suggest that you’ll make a wonderfully advantageous and profitable purchase – and even if you spend more money than you want, or even than you have, you’ll find that whatever you bought will in the end be more than worthwhile. Sorry we can’t be more specific – but you’ll soon know which way Venus is going to reward you, this month – she’s shining specially brilliantly for you at the moment.

Bliss! – what a wonderfully warm, sentimental time you’ll have of it this month, when Moon and June will definitely rhyme! You’ll have no difficulty at all in expressing your feelings, whether on paper or more intimately, and your own special he or she will positively shiver with pleasure. If you’re thinking of making a declaration of love, then if you can bear to wait until the 6th you’ll find that Venus, beginning a journey through your Sun-sign, will warm things even more – and the day of the New Moon will give such a seductive turn to things that . . . no, no, this mustn’t become an astrology porn column. 101% positive.

Those emotions of yours could drop you right in it this month unless you make a real effort to keep them under control. It seems most likely that you’ll just lose your sense of perspective about something, and become far less logical than it’s in your power to be. Try not to jump to conclusions – no, correction, DON’T jump to conclusions; if you do, you’ll say more than you should, and more strongly than you should. This will be specially true if that cursed jealous streak of yours is involved. Be specially careful if that’s the case, because we’re here to tell you that it’s 100-1 that it’ll be completely unjustified. If we could give you a minus score on that count, we could; bet it’s say – oh, what about 5% positive?

The June 2020 Horoscope will bring a change both in your general outlook and in the pace of your life. You’ll begin to feel more settled and serious-minded (this could apply either to work or to your private life). Whatever you achieve this year will stand you in good stead in years to come. Your inherent restlessness, which can always take hold if things become a little slow-loving and stodgy, will be less evident, and you’ll feel that your general progress has become steady and positive. There is a definite accent on commitment and the achievement of ambitions – though this won’t occur overnight, and a little patience (dread word!) will be necessary.

If you have the slightest hint of a gambling streak, it’ll surface this month, whether in connection with sport of some kind or just with a tendency to take risks in one way or another. We guess that it’s most likely that sex will be involved – you’ll perhaps just set eyes on that delicious girl or that gorgeous hunk, and leap as soon as you’ve looked. Well, fine; but be prepared for a put-down if you’re tactless or over-forceful. However, the chances are that he or she will fancy you as strongly as you fancy them, and what could be more promising than that? So yes, take that gamble, and see how things turn out. The world’s smiling at you at the moment: smile right back. 95% positive.

Cancerians generally love entertaining, and this month you’ll definitely feel like giving your friends a good time, in one way or another. Don’t worry about all those things you should be doing; let them go hang for a while, or delegate them – none of them are likely to be life-threateningly important. One way and another there’ll be plenty of opportunities to enjoy life with whoever you want to be with – and everyone will appreciate the treats you arrange for them. Don’t forget to relax and enjoy things yourself, too – perhaps especially when they’re over and you can stop worrying about organising things! Enjoy – that’s the word for June’s Horoscope!

Life may feel just a tad uneasy this June – something to do with events beyond your control, which during the first fortnight of the month will add to your work-load and may contribute to some sort of breakdown in communication. If you double-check on all arrangements (especially if you’re planning to travel) you should be able to avoid disaster, or even any serious build-up of stress – but while these negative trends are around, they should be centred on your working life, and time at home with the family or with your lover should be well spent, enjoyable and restorative. The irritating indications will end on June 12st.

Though June is peppered with indications which suggest a lively social life, and the whole month is likely to be pretty frenetic in one way or another, you should cope as well as usual, while in the middle of the month your career should really take off – it looks as though you may develop a close and advantageous relationship with a colleague, perhaps a new one. Take the time to listen to other people rather than exercising your Leo determination to take your own line about things; and if you don’t agree with whatever they propose, tact will get you much further than stubbornness. A cunning plan will occur to you on the 21st – no doubt that’ll be the New Moon putting her oar in.

Life really should be extremely pleasant and enjoyable for you at the moment – it’s a good time of year for you in general, but this year will be specially so, provided you don’t rely too much on other people. There are also chances of an irritating delay of some kind – maybe connected with clothes. Alright, yes, that sounds strange and unlikely, but if you have ordered something, taken something to the cleaner’s – that sort of thing – be prepared for an unexpected delay which could in some way contribute to social difficulties (the laundry losing one half of that lingerie set, or mincing up your favourite pair of erotic briefs?) 50% positive.

You’re no stranger to nervous tension, and between the 4th and 13th you may be specially prone to it – so make careful plans for what you have to do at that time, and then revise them cutting out absolutely everything that you haven’t GOT to do. Otherwise you’ll find yourself trying to crowd far too much into the day, and feeling the worse for it – then your digestion will start to suffer. Fortunately, after the 13th you’ll be into a much more relaxed and calm phase, and the following weeks will be considerably more productive, rewarding and enjoyable. Venus indicates connections with people from overseas, and this month of June may bring them to your door. If you’re studying, beware of too many enticing distractions!

Things will be somewhat trying both at home and at work: at home there’ll be delays of one sort of another – tremendous progress will be made, but you’ll get involved in almost endless discussions (sounds to us as though you’re redecorating but having problems with colours or patterns). While at work, you’ll be very busy indeed, and not to able to solve problems nearly as quickly or easily as you’d hoped. Try not to get irritated or exhausted by these delays; save your energy for coping when the decisions have been made. A friend or acquaintance will be specially encouraging, kind and complimentary.
