FOREO LAUNCHES LUNA 3 TO REFRESH, HYDRATE AND TONE UP YOUR SKIN
BLAKE دار كلوي تقدم باليك
Swedish beauty and wellbeing brand FOREO has announced a landmark addition to its LUNA family of cleansing devices - the highly anticipated LUNA 3.
8
The new LUNA 3 is the first ever skincare device on the market that combines an ultra-soft, hygienic cleanse with a variety of targeted firming massage routines all controlled via the FOREO app. Demand for this latest beauty upgrade is high with more than 20 million customers globally currently using a FOREO LUNA as the foundation to their cleansing routine. The Swedish brand has come a long way since its Founder Filip Sedic had his original idea just over six years ago.
Sporty and functional, yet feminine with distinctive detailing, the Blake Sneakers speak to the active, confident side of today’s Chloé girl. At once rugged and playful, Blake furthers the sporty elements that have become familiar in the Sonnie sneakers. Proposed as in low-top version, Blake is framed with curvy lines and a layered rubber sole in contrasting tones—with the jagged effect once again inspired by hiking crampons. The sneakers boast a mix of resistant materials including suede calfskin, and can be adjusted for comfort via thick laces integrated with utilitarian straps.Highlighted with a spectrum of bright colour accents, the sneaker makes a bold impression yet can be worn effortlessly as part of a versatile Chloé wardrobe.

“My wife Ivana has always been passionate about skincare. In 2012, she started using a well-known brand of facial brushes, but found the so-called ‘best’ product around actually made her skin worse. When looking closer, I couldn’t see how it could be better than just washing with hands – its nylon brush head would harbor bacteria, and it was clearly too abrasive. To our surprise, a gentler more hygienic alternative didn’t exist, so we decided to create one ourselves,” explains Sedic. The LUNA 3 keeps is the latest of the LUNA innovation and with its ultra-hygienic silicone body, it delivers enhanced T-sonic pulsations and USB charging for up to 650 uses at a time. Additionally, FOREO’s new flagship LUNA boasts: ●30% longer touchpoints; for those harder to reach places and for an even deeper cleansing of the pores. ●30% bigger brush head; larger cleansing surface offers a more effective cleanse ●25% softer touchpoints; glides effortlessly across the skin, with no pulling or stretching to preserve the skin’s natural elasticity ●16 pulsation intensities; choose what suits you best with up to 8000 pulsations per minute ●APP connected; offers personalized settings and variety of firming massage routines ●Improved charging power; up to 650 uses per charge with a 100% waterproof closure ●Universal power button; conveniently located on the back of the device for easy use.
A CHARMING COLLECTION FROM MKS JEWELLERY
The nostalgic jewelry trend you loved as a child is back with a more refined and luxurious feel. Coming in an array of styles and stones ranging from delicate diamonds and yellow sapphires to vibrant coral, this trend is one you can make your own with the endless options of charms. Clipping on charms are a great way to not only personalize your jewellery, but also to tell your own story and express sentimental messages. MKS Jewellery has created seven special charms that celebrate the beauty of dreaming, making it easy to mark the special moments in your life. The 18 carat white gold Cloud charm is a symbol of good faith and hope. Clip it onto your Dream Catcher Necklace or Bracelet as a reminder to keep your faith. The natural Italian Coral bead charm, set in an 18 carat yellow gold clasp, symbolizes birth, prosperity and abundance. Wear this charm to discreetly celebrate a unique and special moment. In dreams, honey means wealth and as the saying goes, you get what you wish for. So, invite prosperity into your life with the yellow sapphire Honey charm. A ladder in dreams symbolizes a focus on achievements, prosperity, aspiration and growth to higher places, goals or even awareness. Aim high with the symbolic and dainty 18 carat yellow gold Ladder charm – a great add-on to the Dream Catcher Charm bracelet or a thoughtful gift in itself. Seeing a perfume bottle in your dreams symbolizes trust. A virtuous gift to exchange a highly valued trait. The 18 carat white gold Perfume charm’s design also borrows from the cubist design of the much loved MKS perfume bottle. The pomegranate with red seeds in dreams symbolizes wealth equivalent to thousands of gold coins. A beautiful piece with meaning, the ruby encrusted open Pomegranate charm is a perfect gift. Shoes symbolize romance and commitment, so celebrate a special moment with a special and simple 18 carat yellow gold Stiletto charm that has a sentimental meaning. Make your dreams come true with the MKS Jewellery Charm collection! A natural storyteller, H.H. Sheikha Mariam connects with women from all walks of life to share her passions, thoughts, memories and experiences. Every detail incorporates a humanistic artisanal approach, be it through craftsmanship, personal story telling and taste making or the connection with the community, Sheikha Mariam’s inspirations derive from a juxtaposition of her deeply entrenched heritage and a creative future.

The fifth week of the “Silver Spitfire - The Longest Flight” expedition saw pilots Steve Boultbee Brooks and Matt Jones make a return to Canada, before they travelled rapidly on to Alaska. Tissot Carson Automatic Urban vitality Juggling work and friends. A sense of both duty and freedom. A career on the rise yet a limited budget. With the Carson collection, Tissot reconciles the inherent contradictions of urban life. Designed to be the very first automatic watch that one buys, the Tissot Carson Lady and the Tissot Carson Gent represent an important step in the life of every young professional — a purchase that is significant, long lasting, and representative of its holder and their status. With its sleek design, self-assured taste and flattering finishings, the Carson collection is perfect for every occasion. Innovators by tradition, Tissot also brings the reputation of its name and the worldwide recognition of the quality of its Swiss Made products. The Tissot Carson Gent is presented in a rose gold PVD-coated steel case, offering all the advantages of gold — its durability, warmth and precious shine — without impacting the price. This timepiece, with a well-balanced 40-mm diameter, is equipped with a mechanical self-winding movement. The Powermatic 80 is a crown jewel of Tissot's calibres. Noble and reliable, it is a reflection of Carson itself. It boasts finishings of superior quality, including an engraved oscillating weight, visible through a transparent sapphire crystal case back. It offers 80 hours of running time, meaning the watch can, if necessary, be laid down during the weekend and picked back up in perfect working order on Monday morning. The Tissot Carson Lady is bound to seduce with its soft, classic curves, which make it an essential accessory. It fits perfectly with all styles, occasions and stages of life. Its 30-mm case is polished and mounted on a five-link steel strap that is as bright as it is comfortable. Its dial is composed of a satin-finished outer ring and a central medallion, whose pattern of fine circular lines is guaranteed to catch the light. The dial shines with the eight diamond hour markers, all of Top Wesselton-quality, the highest used in the watchmaking industry. Its self-winding movement was selected for its reliability and its high quality, and can be forgotten as easily as it can be viewed through the transparent sapphire crystal case back. All of the models in the Carson collection are imbued with the energy of the city. They are presented in the same variety and diversity of choice as that which makes city life so thrilling. Carson Gent’s and Carson Lady’s many finishing options include a dial in silver or black, a strap in leather or five-chain steel, and yellow gold PVD steel versions. Because one's first watch can never be ordinary, Tissot has invested the best of its long-established expertise into the Carson collection. www.theciin.com

015
Gemfields is pleased to announce its partnership with The Alkemistry, with a range of timeless jewellery featuring Zambian emeralds and Mozambican rubies. The Gemfields x The Alkemistry collection will be available at accessible price points on Farfetch.com and will include seven earring designs, including drops and a piercing collection, alongside a Gemfields x Zoë Chicco collection, with Zoë Chicco’s five best sellers redesigned to feature Gemfields’ Zambian emeralds. The Gemfields x Zoë Chicco pieces include the elegant circle ring framing a Zambian emerald, a 14kt yellow gold off-set emerald and diamond necklace and a slim-band emerald ring, perfect for stacking. Fresh and effortless 18kt yellow gold Gemfields x The Alkemistry earrings feature a stud diamond with a postback closure, a drop 0.06ct Mozambican ruby and a 0.1ct drop diamond. Striking 18kt yellow gold earrings from Gemfields x The Alkemistry feature 0.06ct emerald embellishment and hanging chains, providing an easily wearable pop of colour courtesy of responsibly sourced Zambian emeralds. Coloured gems have increasingly appeared on the red carpet in recent years, and their growing popularity attracted the attention of Knight Frank’s Investment Index this June. This increased appeal is said to stem from the consistent supply of high-quality gemstones from Gemfields’ industry-leading auction process, as well as the newly discovered deposit of Mozambican rubies in Montepuez, which gives consumers access to responsibly sourced rubies for the very first time.

Lebanese-born Daniella has been posing for the camera since the age of ten and has now turned it into a budding modelling career. "I felt how strong I was, passing from a teen mindset to a girl boss building her empire," she reflected on her favorite photoshoot to date Who is Daniella?
with bad vibes.
I am 18-years-old girl enjoying life
Favorite brands?
Tell us about your education. Where I go, everyone thinks I'm a university student, but truthfully I'm still in school. And guess what? It's my senior year! Firstly, I wasn't able to manage my time between my studies and my social life, and yes, I failed my grade 10 because of this
How and when did you get interested in
020 modelling? What was your first project?
When I was 10, they chose me to represent a photoshoot for a kid's store. I guess from this day, my obsession for posing began
What was your most memorable shoot experience, and why? A photoshoot for an online store because when I was shooting it, I felt how strong I was, passing from a teen mindset to a girl boss building her empire
What do you enjoy most about modeling? Everything, especially when it comes to something that represents my character. I love being in front of the camera!
What is a must for you to bring to a shoot?
I don't have a specific brand, it's all about the good vision for styling items together.
Favorite snack? Organic nuts
Favorite song? Je t'aime - Lara Fabian
Do you have a beauty and exercise regime? Here's a secret about me: I don't skip a night without doing abs exercise, even when I'm dead. I'm a lazy person talking about skincare beauty; I only clean my face before going to sleep!
What are your favourite beauty products/ always carried in your purse? It's been a year since collaborating with "focallure beauty", I'm in love with their products. Always in my bag: Lipstick, beauty sponge and power bank
What is your go-to everyday outfit? Sports and casual wear
Can't go without my coffee.
What's your favourite activity or hobby when you are not modelling? I never went without learning something new in dance. Beside my gymnastics classes, recently I'm practising aerials.
Do you have any tricks or routines to stay happy and healthy? I surround myself with positive people who support and encourage me in everything I do and ignore those
Best advice ever given? Not advice, but a quote I read and engraved in my mind: "If you don't fight for what you want, don't cry for what you lost."
How do you relax? Sitting alone with myself

Other styles include the Ehssel bum bag, Exo crossbody, Eyot small attaché crossbody and the Ewer tote which also has a pouch that can be carried separately. The bags are finished with red rubber Bally logo patches, seasonal Mountain Peak motif stitching and the Bally Stripe strap adding an iconic accent. BIBI VAN DER VELDEN MEMENTO MORI RING - FIRST EVER CONTEMPORARY JEWELLERY PIECE EXHIBITED AT HERMITAGE AMSTERDAM
Inspired by the rich history of the Russian jewellery and artefacts that will be under the spotlight in the upcoming Hermitage Amsterdam exhibition “Jewels! The Glitter of the Russian Court,” Bibi van der Velden unveils a beautiful, one-off piece. The Memento Mori ring is symbolic of the perpetual cycle of life and death, with Bibi infusing this piece with the regal flamboyance that characterised the Russian court and its jewels. The ring is designed as a parrot tulip in 18k yellow gold and sterling silver, whose petals glisten with Gemfields’ responsibly sourced Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds, alongside pavé tsavorites, dark pink sapphires, and white diamonds. The ring is fashioned with oxidised sterling silver leaves that bloom across the hand, accented with 18k yellow gold, while its shank is crafted as a tulip stem in 18k yellow gold, which winds around two fingers. At the “cut” end of the stem is a moonstone, to resemble a dew drop. The leaves are set with all manner of insects - a rock crystal maggot, a gold spider, gold ants, seed pearl eggs, and a gold slug and caterpillar, the latter both embellished with gemstones. And also alluding to the cycle of life is an 18k gold human figure that emerges from an embellished mammoth tusk egg at the centre of the flower. This 60,000-year-old mammoth tusk is found under Russia’s Siberian permafrost, another connection to the country.

Berluti Fall 2019: Panjab University
With its big luminous windows and concrete anatomy, the Student Centre is the heart of the Panjab University Campus. Designed by Le Corbusier in the late 1960’s as part of the Chandigarh city project, it is a symbol of relentless modernity and a reflection of Berluti’s Fall 2019 most cutting-edge pieces. For this new season, Kris Van Assche created a line of ready-to-wear and accessories with a futuristic spirit. Shades of cosmic blue and midnight black take over outerwear including a double breasted, water-repellent woolen pea coat and a timeless double face cashmere coat, while the Andy Patina shirt pays homage to Berluti’s trademark knowhow through a dripping effect print, evocative of the craftsmen’s dusters used to apply the patina on shoes. In a constant search for new patinas, Kris Van Assche has developed the new “Blue Metal”, a visionary patina mixing blue shades with silver tones for a metal finish with a deep, bright colour. The patina is then applied to the season’s key accessories, including belts, bags and the newest A “ ndy Creeper”, a variation of Berluti’s most emblematic loafer. Its perfect counterpart is the “Shadow”, an ultra-lightweight sneaker mixing nylon knit, Venezia leather details and a resistant rubber outsole. Patinated bags include the “Cube” Weekender bag, combining nylon and Vitello Metal leather for lightness and a striking visual effect. The medium-sized “Volume” backpack mixes a subdued nylon jacquard Scritto pattern with technical fabric and a large calf leather panel at the bottom. The “Complice” cross-body bag, also in nylon and calf leather with a water-repellent finish, emerges as a new must, both undeniably trendy and enduring.

This AW19, Aspinal of London takes inspiration from all things quintessentially British - from the equestrian culture of the countryside to the majestic uniforms of the Queen’s Guard. This is the first season with celebrated Couture Designer Giles Deacon at the helm of Aspinal of London’s design direction alongside the brand’s Creative Director, Mariya Dykalo, bringing his illustrative skills to bear across a playful collection of small leather pieces and scarves. The Queen’s Guard is given a glamorous reinvention, while a Pekingese playfully holds his own Aspinal of London handbag. Hero pieces within the AW19 collection have been influenced by the rich embroidery details and unsurpassed craftsmanship found within the Wallace Collection. The Wallace Collection is a treasure trove of inspiring pieces from paintings to sculptures and furniture to porcelain, collected by the Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace in the 18th and 19th Centuries, and bequeathed to the nation in 1897. In designing key pieces from the collection, Aspinal of London took a revived focus on texture and animation, drawing further inspiration for their classically autumnal palette of Evergreen, Bordeaux, Orange, Blue, Ivory, Mustard, Soft Taupe, Navy, and Tan. The Trunk Clutch features hand-embroidered silk thread on velvet, complemented by a handmade brass bamboo effect handle. Reinterpreting Aspinal of London’s signature Transparent Trunk design, embroidered flowers handcrafted in the UK from organza and silk thread are suspended between transparent panes - a striking piece guaranteed to delight. Rich velvets and textural combinations refresh the classic Aspinal of London styles including the Lottie and Mayfair. Highlights include the Lottie Bag in Aspinal of London’s signature quilt, inspired by details found on a saddle and visualised in a decadent velvet colour palette. www.theciin.com

Deftly combining tennis codes with the current dictates of streetwear fashion, this new unisex sneaker catches the eye with its retro look and chunky sole. Inspired by the Tennis 91, one of the iconic models plucked from the brand’s archives, the Court Slam asserts a unique personality. Born on tennis courts in the 1990s, it is being revived today as a lifestyle sneaker with a daring and contemporary aesthetic design. Available in a one-colour version – black, white or navy – or in white highlighted with coloured details - blue, green or red – on the sole, heel and reinforced lace holes, the Court Slam has a leather upper with suede insets. Inspired by the grip of a tennis racket, its perforated upper gives it a casual, sporty look while retaining its original technology for optimum stability and comfort. Striking a perfect balance between heritage and modernity, LACOSTE embraces the nineties revival to align the Court Slam with the spirit of the time, a time when performance and elegance go hand in hand.

Yoga Instructor and Entrepreneur 065
"Yoga taught me to be myself. It is not just a practice on the mat; it is a lifestyle and a neverending journey." Alla plunged into yoga after a stressful sales career having moved to the UAE from her native Ukraine. Firstly, it was to help her gain innerstrength and guidance, and then the former European Champion kick-boxer took the biggest risk of her life to pursue her hobby as a business. While helping others on their yogic journey, it has also opened new doors for her: she is working with Dubai Tourism as a fitness influencer to promote Dubai Fitness Challenge 30X30 by His Highness, the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan.
September, 2019
Who is Alla? I am originally Ukrainian with mixed roots. I am a certified International Holistic Yoga Instructor, Taoist Master, Women's Health Coach, Wellness Influencer and a founder of "Allasana Yoga". There is a story behind the name itself. "Allasana_yoga" is a combination of a concept incorporating "all asanas" (postures) in yoga into daily practice by a steady progression and development because yoga has no limits. The name coincides with my name. I find it unique to have my name and a concept together in the company brand name.
When and how did you first get interested in yoga?
066
My first yoga experience began in 2008. I was a curious student who wanted to try new things. Though I didn't practice a lot, it felt right being on the mat. Back in those days, yoga wasn't as popular as it is now. We had a few studios around the country and were quite expensive. So, being a student, I couldn't afford to pay for classes, but I knew yoga was my calling. I moved to the UAE in 2010, a country which I now call home. Starting my career in sales where I was focused solely on my work and almost had no life. I spent my days working late, staring at the computer, driving endlessly around the city trying to rush from one meeting to another. I was slowly losing my health, friendships and work-life balance. My health deteriorated to the extent that I started suffering multiple ailments such as scoliosis, chronic stress, insomnia, headaches, panic attacks (that was bad) and regular back pains. That is when yoga came into my life. My journey back to the mat started purely as physical activity. However, it gradually evolved into a daily passion.
How and when did you land in Dubai? My story with the UAE started 11 years back. It was a one week vacation with my family here. Everything about Dubai seemed magical. Back then, Burj Khalifa wasn't finished yet. However, the fountains were there, and when I saw the show, I fell in love with this country, even more, promising myself to come back. I had a desire to move here, which I couldn't explain at that time. Two years later, I got my first job with Emirates Airlines as a Senior Sales Agent. My dream came true! I have been here nine years now, and it has been a roller-coaster ride between changing careers and following my true passion: Yoga and Women's Practices.
How did you get into teaching yoga? How many years have you been teaching, and where can people find your classes? I started practising yoga regularly six years ago to destress myself and relax my mind. I never had any intention of becoming a Yoga Instructor. It was merely my hobby. I started from group classes 2 to 3 times a week, and one day I realized I was practising every day, sometimes even twice a day. It felt like an obsession. My phone didn't have "normal" pictures anymore. It was all about yoga and being upside down. My colleagues started calling me a "Yoga Queen" because I spoke about yoga, literally, everywhere. Moreover, I pushed people to start practising yoga. My yoga teacher told me I have to get certified and start teaching on my own. However, I didn't take it seriously. I was working in a big well-known company and didn't plan to leave until I got laid off. Another year of restructuring, cutting costs and headcounts. The moment I left corporate life, I felt relief. I was upset and happy at the same time. I guess the universe was showing me a new direction. I was scared and excited. I could have spent time looking for another job with my eight years of experience in Sales or start everything from
scratch. I chose to follow my passion and my dream. Firstly, I booked a trip to Bali to get certified. Until now, I never regret my decision to become an International Holistic Yoga Instructor, Women's Health Coach, Taoist Master and Practitioner and Wellness Influencer. Did I ever think I would become all of that? Not at all. Sometimes you have to make that first step. I've been teaching for two years since 2017, developing my personalized style and program. At the moment I am focused on private mentoring and teaching, workshops for women, local and international yoga retreats, wellness influencing as a blogger and public speaking. I do give group classes from time to time. All the information is available and updated on my website www.allasanayoga. com
What do you love most about teaching yoga? Yoga allows me to connect to other people and help them to become a better version of themselves. Whether it is a mental or physical health shift, those who practice yoga will never remain the same. I love to see the results of my students, getting "thank you" messages and emails on how their life has changed with yoga. I feel emotional I could touch their souls and was part of the change. Also, I like to see my students' happy and relaxed after practice. This is a blessing!
What do you love most about practising yoga and yoga itself? Yoga taught me to be myself. It is not just a practice on the mat; it is a lifestyle. Yoga is a journey, a neverending journey. Practising yoga is a sort of Meditation for me. When I am on the mat, I feel free, aligned, happy, connected, grounded, solid and flawless. Yoga can never be boring.
What is the greatest challenge you have overcome because of yoga? The greatest challenge I've overcome with yoga was scoliosis and depression. There were times I couldn't sleep at night, having severe back pain and headaches. This was frustrating. Depression is another thing. Mental health is one of the biggest problems of the 21st century. I got into that trap as well. However, I refused to take medications. I knew there must be a Holistic Approach to fix myself. Our body is a miracle, and if we could get into depression, we can get out of it. Yoga helped me to become stronger. It impacted my mental health more immensely than any therapist or medication has.
What are the greatest health benefits of doing yoga? I would instead tell you what benefits I am personally getting. First of all, it makes me calm and relaxed; it helps me to sleep like a baby, lifts my energy level, boosts my immune system, helps me to maintain a healthy spine. I do look younger than my age. This year I am 32, and people never guess it. When I am without makeup, I look even younger. Yoga helps to rejuvenate our cells. It helps to maintain a lean body. Home practice with your bodyweight can be super challenging; all of your muscles are working. Yoga brings me joy.
What advice do you have for people who have never tried yoga? I would say "Give it a try!". Some of the most common things I hear about yoga are: "I need to prepare myself first, train a little and then come to a yoga class; I am not flexible. Or yoga is just for women; I can't just sit and

meditate. I need to move; I need a physical practice; I am afraid to look awkward. Yoga is for everyone. You shouldn't be flexible or "ready" to start practising. Just come! It might be confusing to choose a yoga style when you are a beginner. I recommend starting from traditional Hatha yoga. When your practice gets better, you can try different other styles from Ashtanga, Vinyasa to a funky Swing Yoga. You will find yours.
What tips can you offer for avoiding injuries in yoga and getting the most health benefits out of it? Yoga indeed can be quite traumatic if you are pushing your limits without listening to your body. The first advice is to listen to your body. As simple as that. We are all different and have different abilities. You shouldn't be intimidated by your neighbor's practice because none of the journeys is alike. Stay true to yourself. Keep at your own pace but be consistent. Another advice is to challenge yourself. Sometimes we might not see progress if we keep doing the same thing which we are already good at. Change your practice from time to time. If you are strong but not flexible, get into a yoga class where they focus on stretching and flexibility. On the other hand, if you are flexible but have a weak core, get into a power yoga class where they focus on core strength. You might even want to try different teachers to see who's style and way of teaching suits you best. Keep exploring!
What book lies on your night table? A book I am reading now is not about yoga at all. It is called "Memoirs of A Geisha". Apart from yoga, I am a Certified Taoist Practitioner. But this is another story.
How do we best develop a steady meditation practice? The keyword here is consistency. Meditation is a self-discovery. However, I would recommend to attend a couple of group classes and get some general tips from yoga teachers. Meditation is one of the key elements in yoga. It requires time, patience and desire to explore. So what do we explore? We explore ourselves. In the beginning, it might be challenging to sit, focus and empty your head from thoughts, but with the time you will discover a whole new world. Meditation wasn't easy for me. I didn't understand it at all. People are gathering together to sit in silence. What? That's how bizarre it seemed to me when I started yoga. A lot of people spoke about the benefits of Meditation, but I couldn't get it at all. It took me four years of selfstudy, different courses and dedication to realize what is Meditation for me. I am still on the path of exploring. Remember, everything takes time.
What do you like most about your role as a yoga instructor? I can make my own choices. I can decide whether I want to be involved in a particular project or not. I can create my workshops incorporating my knowledge not being dependent on someone else. I like to be both an entrepreneur and a yoga instructor at the same time changing these roles during the day. I am not always in yoga pants. Importantly, yoga allowed me to be my own boss
September, 2019
Can you discuss the proudest moments in your career or some of your biggest achievements? The proudest moment in my career was not giving up and following my passion. In addition to that I've been featured on the cover of the Women's Health Magazine, performed a couple of Big Yoga Events in the UAE, gave interviews on radio, opened one of the biggest Yoga Studios in China, created my own Yoga Practice for Women and at the moment I am working with Dubai Tourism as a fitness influencer to promote Dubai Fitness Challenge 30X30 by His Highness, the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan.
Can you walk us through a typical class or session? Every yoga session is different. The style that I teach is a Vinyasa Flow. Vinyasa can never be the same. A typical class involves Breathing (Pranayama), Asana Practice and a little bit of Meditation. I would say, a combination of everything.
What was one of the scariest or toughest moments of your career, and how did you get through it? The scariest moment was when I changed my eight years of International Experience in Sales into Wellness. It was like a leap of faith. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't have a clear plan. A new world was unfolding in front of me. I was afraid to fail. However, our strength is determined not by the things we choose to carry, but by the things we choose to set free. So I did. I set my old beliefs and my old life free. One thing that I was sure about was sharing my knowledge and changing lives for better. Another thing which helped me was being an athlete before. I was 3 x times kick-boxing European Champion by WAKO Federation (World Association of Kick-Boxing Organizations) and 4 x times Absolute Champion of Ukraine. I always knew, if you train hard, you will get where you want to be. I was a champion before I was sure I would get there again.
What's a typical day in your life look like? I try to wake up early to have some time for myself. Before yoga, I used to sleep late and wake up late as well. Now my alarm starts ringing at 5.30am. I consider mornings to be the best time of the day. I do pray, meditate, practice on the mat, have my breakfast with a cup of coffee, listen to several podcasts, check my emails and see if there are no changes in the schedule, set up goals for my team and either head to practice with my clients or spend time planning new workshops and retreats. In the evening I like to have a walk when the weather is beautiful, meet friends, go to the cinema or dinner and relax. I get to bed around 10.30–11pm. My day is done
Your message for CiiN. Dear CiiN readers, whether you decide to try yoga or not, I want you to take care of your health. Whatever your passion is, be consistent and never give up. Small obstacles will make you stronger; significant obstacles will help you grow. Don't stop challenging yourself. Real growth doesn't happen without effort. Smile every day. This will help you keep going through the day! And if you need any advice about yoga, feel free to reach out to me. Stay blessed!

One of the Best Offices in the World Amsterdam, Netherlands
The new Amsterdam office of Dutch investment manager/ developer Amvest.
106
www.theciin.com
Investment manager/developer Amvest had a new goal with its new office, to become a best practice of its own development qualities. Showcasing the epitome of how a good office, embedded in a good environment, has to relate to its users. To reinforce that image, Amvest started pioneering in its own backyard, a former industrial zone turned into a residential area.
107
September, September, 2019 2019
In this time where work and private life are increasingly intertwined, an office is more than a place of desks and chairs. More than ever, the influence of the working environment begins to emerge. We are aware that a well-designed environment leads to higher productivity, lower absenteeism and, more importantly, a higher degree of connection with the identity of a company. These insights stood at the basis of the interior design; an environment that exudes both the identity of Amvest and at the same time embodies the best possible working environment. This project is anything but standard; everything is specifically designed and tailor-made. This applies both to the beautifully designed exterior by Rietveld Architects as to the well-crafted interior by Firm architects. It starts when entering the building, stepping into a 20m2 elevator, doubling as a meeting room complete with furniture, plants and art. It travels slowly between levels, affording visitors capturing views. An important effect of this choice is it encourages the use of the central staircase for the employees.
108
What’s unique about it Keywords for the design are sustainability, flexibility and innovation. These form the basis for everything from floor to ceiling. For example, the sustainably produced carpet looks like a fabric version of a concrete floor, referring to the old concrete factory that stood on site. The informal areas have recycled oak herringbone flooring uniquely developed for Amvest. It has a magnetic layer, ruling out the glue and therefore enabling reuse in the future. The specially developed ceiling panels serve as cooling and heating and provide acoustic enhancement. A healthy environment is also stimulated through the use of many plants, and a roof garden with WiFi access and different areas to boost working outdoors.

111 The plan is open, light and encourages interaction. The custommade workplaces are height adjustable and all situated on the same floor to stimulate interaction. Set up along the double-height windows to allow an optimum of natural daylight, ensuring a minimum of additional lighting needed. In the less lit and therefore more intimate middle areas, there are different uses to accommodate the various activities of work. On the top floor, special benches and tables are integrated into the ceiling and offer instant seating capacity on the push of a button. This flexibility is also found in the upholstered mobile wardrobes, serving as acoustic screens. This high level of customisation is leading in the design and is used as a decisive, stimulating and moving part of the interior.

THE LAMBORGHINI SIĂ N Limited edition hybrid super sports car previews the future
112
www.theciin.com
113
At the Frankfurt Motor Show Automobili Lamborghini unveils the Lamborghini Sián: a hybrid super sports car delivering new technologies and unsurpassed performance in the hybrid sphere. The fastest Lamborghini of all time is realized in a new futuristic design; drawing on the brand’s style DNA, but clearly a design for a new era. Taking the most iconic V12 Lamborghini power plant of today, the Sián is engineered around unique hybrid technologies, delivering the extraordinary emotion and exceptional dynamic performance of a naturally aspirated Lamborghini super sports car, while meeting a future demanding electrification. “The Sián is a masterpiece in possibilities,” says Stefano Domenicali, Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Not only does the Sián deliver a formidable hyper-car design and engineering tour de force today, it augments the potential for Lamborghini as a super sports car brand for tomorrow and for decades to come, even as hybridization becomes more desirable and inevitably essential. The Lamborghini Sián represents the first step in Lamborghini’s route to electrification, and expedites our nextgeneration V12 engine. Its Sián moniker, meaning ‘flash or lightning’ in Bolognese dialect, denotes the first electrification of a Lamborghini production car and confirms our strong connection to the territory in which we operate. With the Sián, Automobili Lamborghini demonstrates its dynastic strength as a legendary super sports car brand for the future.” September, 2019
114 The Sián technology: hybrid power delivering the best performance “Lamborghini’s strategic heritage in one-off and very limited series cars is not only a commitment to exclusivity but a presentation of future designs and technologies. With this car, we set ourselves the challenge of creating the best hybrid solution for a Lamborghini super sports car to provide us with the first step on our electrification strategy,” says Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer. “Lamborghini is inherently a rule breaker, a challenger, always pushing what is possible to find a better solution. With the Sián we are defining our route to innovation and we are setting new rules in new technologies, instead of just following existing solutions. The result is the Lamborghini Sián, which includes the world-first application of a supercapacitor for hybridization and new materials technology.” The Sián adopts the V12 as the pinnacle of today’s Lamborghini engines and develops a new super sports car powertrain: a unique new hybrid system focuses on providing the highest power possible via the lightest solution. A 48 volt e-motor, delivering 34 hp, has been incorporated into the gearbox to provide immediate response and improved performance: the first time in any low-voltage hybrid that a direct connection has been made between electric motor and wheels. The e-motor also supports low-speed maneuvers such as reversing and parking with electric power. The energy accumulation technology is a world first. Rather than a lithium-ion battery the Sián innovates supercapacitor application: a technology pioneered originally in the Lamborghini Aventador but dramatically developed to store ten times the
power. It is three times more powerful than a battery of the same weight and three times lighter than a battery producing the same power. Located in the bulkhead between cockpit and engine it ensures perfect weight distribution. The electric system with the supercapacitor and e-motor weighs only 34 kg, thus it delivers a remarkable weight-to-power ratio of 1.0 kg/hp. Symmetric power flow ensures the same efficiency in both charging and discharging cycles: the most lightweight and efficienthybrid solution. This advanced technology combines with the V12 engine, which incorporates titanium intake valves and is uprated to 785 hp (577 kW) at 8,500 rpm: the highest output ever from a Lamborghini power plant. Combined with the additional 34 hp from the hybrid system, the Sián delivers a total of 819 hp (602 kW), and still produces the distinctly emotive resonance demanded from a Lamborghini engine. The Sián’s weight-to-power ratio is better than that of the Aventador SVJ, achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials. The Sián reaches a top speed of over 350 km/h. The Lamborghini Sián incorporates a highly advanced regenerative braking system, especially developed by Lamborghini. Thanks to the symmetric behavior of the supercapacitor, which contrary to normal Li-Ion batteries can be charged and discharged with the same power, the Sián’s energy storage system is fully charged every time the vehicle brakes. The energy stored is an instantlyavailable power boost, allowing the driver to draw immediately on increased torque when accelerating away, up to 130 km/h when the e-motor automatically disconnects, improving the elasticity maneuvers and making it more than 10% faster than a car without this system. The innovative system also delivers instant acceleration in low gears, with improved traction force provided by the combination www.theciin.com
115
of V12 engine and hybrid system. This makes the Siån the fastest accelerating Lamborghini ever, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.8 seconds. The improvement in elasticity maneuvers is even more evident. Traction force is improved by up to 10% in third gear and the 30 to 60 km/h acceleration time is improved by 0.2 seconds compared to the Aventador SVJ. In higher gears and lower speeds the electric motor increases traction force by up to 20%, reducing the 70 to 120 km/h acceleration by 1.2 seconds compared to the Aventador SVJ. This new level of Lamborghini performance and driving emotion is accompanied by a heightened level of driving comfort facilitated by the hybrid system. The moment when deceleration and missing torque is felt during gear changes powered by a traditional combustion engine, is eliminated by the torque upshift fill provided by the hybrid’s e-motor: the pilot will feel only the pull backward of acceleration, eliminating any possible uncomfortable jerking movements. The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC models More agile and more distinctive: chocks away for the dynamic duo Mercedes-AMG is introducing a comprehensive range of measures in a fundamental update of its successful GLC 43 4MATIC SUV and Coupé models (combined fuel consumption: 10.6-10.21 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 242-232 g/km) . The AMG-specific radiator grille, the newdesign lights, the expressive front apron and the broad emphasis of the rear end with its round twin tailpipe finishers add up to make these entry-level models into the world of Mercedes-AMG SUVs visibly more appealing. The 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine now develops 287 kW (390 hp), in other words 17 kW (23 hp) more than before. In conjunction with the responsive AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission, the rear-biased AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and the AMG DYNAMICS agility control system, it has thus been possible to enhance the driving experience, as well as the car's agility, still further. The latest version of the MBUX infotainment system, with AMG-specific functions and displays, introduces an innovative control concept that adds to the vehicle's feasibility for everyday use. This is further enhanced by the exceptional amount of space provided for passengers and luggage, as well as by a comprehensive range of safety features. "The new GLC 43 4MATIC SUV and Coupé in their latest guises also feature the AMG-specific radiator grille, identifying them straight away as fully-fledged members
of our diverse and highly successful SUV family. This midsize performance SUV combines new, expressive design features with enhanced performance, the innovative MBUX infotainment system and absolute viability in everyday use. And, of course, its exceptional agility and sporty driving dynamics mean that we are able to meet our brand promise of "Driving Performance" in this segment, too", says Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. Enhanced performance meets efficiency: the AMG 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine Both the SUV and the Coupé benefit from an increase in the output of the 3.0-litre V6 engine of 17 kW (23 hp), taking it to 287 kW (390 hp). The peak torque of 520 Nm is available from 2500 to 4500 rpm. The higher output can also be attributed to applicative adjustments made to the software. The larger, stand-alone turbocharger units are mounted close to the engine and respond particularly swiftly, thereby guaranteeing exceptional performance: it takes a mere 4.9 seconds for the SUV and Coupé to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The powerful AMG engine is visually identifiable by its engine cover with red aluminium insert and AMG lettering. www.theciin.com
117
The exterior: AMG-specific radiator grille and more distinctive headlamps Thanks to the AMG-specific radiator grille with its vertical chrome-plated fins, it is very quickly clear: these GLCs come from Affalterbach. The restyled, flatter LED High Performance headlamps with flare effect for the daytime running lamps serve to emphasise the expressive character of the front section. The matt black fins over the air intakes feature trim elements in Silver Shadow, enhancing the car's visual presence yet further. Seen from the side, the accentuated side sill panels are a particularly striking feature of both the SUV and the CoupĂŠ, in the way they give an optical illusion of lowering and elongating the whole vehicle. A similarly eye-catching feature are the aerodynamically optimised AMG light-alloy wheels, with the 19-inch variant with AMG lettering fitted as standard. A selection of five further rim variants, ranging from 19 to 21 inches in size, are available as options. The distinctive rear end, too, with its broad apron, diffuser and two round twin tailpipes, adds to the sporty look. As with the front view, the redesigned LED tail lights provide for an unmistakable light signature. September, 2019

The Gorafe desert in Granada, Spain, is considered to be one of the harshest places in Europe with extreme heat in the summer and temperatures below zero in the winter. What better place to challenge the elements?

120 A desert. A house. A range of special glass types and a team of skilled professionals. This is “La Casa del Desierto (the desert house). One of Guardian Glass's most exclusive, demanding, risky, creative and efficient projects, was recently completed in Spain with a clear objective: to demonstrate first hand and in situ across the four seasons of the year, the importance of glass in our daily life, and in one of the toughest environments you could ever imagine! Located in the northern part of the region of Guadix, in the province of Granada, Andalusia, the desert of Coloraos de Gorafe owes its name to the shades of its red sandstone and to the diversity of rock formations in the area shaped by the peculiarities of the erosion system and the lack of vegetation. Thousands of years of erosion have created the "Badlands", so called because of their extreme aridity and ravine-like appearance. Canyons, gullies, ravines, canals and other similar geological formations compose the general landscape of this desert, which is considered one of Europe's most adverse environments. Challenging nature and designed to withstand the Gorafe Desert, in Granada, Spain, which is considered one of the most adverse and extreme environments in Europe, La Casa del Desierto stands on a wooden structure and is fully glazed with high performance, energy-efficient Guardian Glass. Covering only 20m2, the layout consists of three areas: bedroom, bathroom and living room. A large space directly overlooking the landscape, La Casa also has a water filtration system, an energy generation system and a set of photovoltaic panels. The design is the result of the combined efforts of a large and experienced team of architects led by Spela Videcnik of OFIS Architects – together with Guardian Glass specialists and engineers and energy consultants from AKT II and Transsolar. The vision is to meet current and future challenges of architecture and construction, promoting environmentally friendly and energy efficient structures. A project where the glass type used to

121 enclose each space has a direct impact, demonstrating that it is possible to transform the interior environment of a home by selecting the most appropriate glass for each situation. The window glazing in a home helps save energy, improves the thermal and acoustic insulation of the inner spaces and can even increase the level of security against impact or attempted burglary. Ultimately, when selected according to the specific needs of each case, glazing ensures that a building is a practical and comfortable home regardless of where it is located. What's more, Guardian Glass, in addition to having the right product portfolios, has the tools to easily specify products, while providing advice and guidance along the way. With the help of high performance Guardian Glass glazing, architects and interior designers from around the world can design and enhance the great indoors. large automated panel of frameless glass in the bathroom, which drops away creating an indoor to outdoor shower experience with unsurpassed views. An expansive rim-flow pool on the main deck flows out onto the edge of the villa’s cliffside setting – drawing out far reaching views and connecting with the Malilangwe Dam below. This tranquil home was designed to provide families or small groups the relaxed freedom to create bespoke safari itineraries with a dedicated chef, butler, private game vehicle with experienced Field Guide catering to their every need. All elements of the property have been curated by leading South African design team Cécile & Boyd in collaboration with GAPP Architects. The style emulates the essence of the original villa, which drew inspiration from the rich tribal heritage of Ancient Zimbabwe. An emphasis was placed on creating fluid transitions between in and outdoor areas enhancing the entire guest experience. The décor reflects the location with rich textures, geometric patterns, tile inlays, hammered brass and woven leather in tones of deep olive, tan, black and white creating a striking backdrop for contemporary African artefacts, in keeping with the nearby Singita Pamushana Lodge.
