Greening the School Eco Art Updates The Eco Art team have been working hard this half term, to advance our commitment to sustainability. Beyond their consistent push for widening student awareness about the bene ts and process around taking care of our environment, they have launched multiple opportunities for student contributions.

Fully Paid Clothing

Eco Art is an additional studies option that was open to multiple years. Throughout the year, they have made and sold Christmas decorations for a reforestation charity and planted bulbs.

Prince’s Trust Updates Year 11 students recently paid a visit to a fashion brand, Fully Paid Clothing, to nd out about the world of retail business. Mr Baffour of Fully Paid Clothing was an inspirational and generous host, explaining what entails production, storage and distribution in retail, leaving students with new knowledge, ideas and goodie bags.

This term they made bird feeders, placed a compost bin for our community, and are set to receive a donation of over 150 trees! external speakers as a key aspect of the curriculum across all Key stages, importance is given to keeping our students engaged in school.

Our focus on Oracy This term, we have focused our teaching on encouraging our students to communicate effectively.

Students present at Jack Petchey Workshop The Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge this week is a key example of the multitude of activities available for our students, which focus on the development of their oracy. Our Year 10’s took to the stage to speak out on an issue for which they have prepared a speech that same day from scratch! One by one, our students presented in front of an audience of 60, focusing on the positive impact.

The examples above re ect the efforts of our staff, who are keenly committed to the progress of our students Oracy.
