El barrio de Santa María Magdalena está dividido por dos ejes característicos:

Las vías férreas cortan un eje horizontal a lo largo de la colonia mientras que las localidades rural-urbanas marcan una eje vertical. Mesa de Agua se desplanta estratégicamente dentro de estas divisiones para suturar el barrio y generar un espacio de integración social seguro y justo.

En estas divisiones Norte-Sur, Oeste-Este se encuentran diversas condicionantes:

_Ramifcación del Río Querétaro donde se fusiona el agua contaminada y el agua tratada

_Tejido urbano en constante crecimiento.

_Una granja de vacas lecheras y gallinas ponedoras que se está viendo presionada a desaparecer por su cercanía con la urbe de la ciudad de Querétaro.

El sitio a intervenir es clave para establecer un cambio en las prácticas agrícolas, una transformación en la alimentación de los habitantes y un alto en seco al crecimiento urbano. Es un sitio en dónde las problemáticas se convierten en oportunidades.

Santa Maria Magdalena has two crucial and unique axes. The first axis is horizontal, composed of the railroad trails that divide the neighborhood into the North and the South part. This axis is considered a vulnerable area since it encourages pedestrian and road insecurity.

The vertical axis separates the city from the agricultural fields. This axis will disappear if the city continues to expand due to pressure on land use by the government and urban developers.

The site Mesa de Agua is planning to intervene in functions fundamentally to conserve the agricultural practices and redeem the poor use of water. The site’s opportunities lay in implementing better farming practices and a place that can work as the barrier to stop the city’s growth while guiding citizens to coexist with the environment without harming it.
