RONALD REAGAN

Growth is the great separator between those who succeed and those who do not. When I see a person beginning to separate themselves from the pack, it’s almost always due to personal growth.

WE CREATED THIS PLATFORM FOR YOU: OUR MEMBERS & OUR PARTNERS. IT’S INVALUABLE FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO POSITION THEMSELVES AS A MARKET LEADER IN COACHING... From the start we wanted the ICG to provide a platfrom to support and develop it’s members, their business’ and the clients they work with. The Directory is one of the most exciting pieces in that puzzle.

JOHN C. MAXWELL

Congratulations for everyone who is already online and those that are working on their profiles right now. page 6

BRAND Your Style to Stand Out from the Crowd

TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD, YOU REALLY NEED TO FIND YOUR OWN UNIQUE STYLE THAT CONNECTS WITH YOUR TARGET MARKET AND DRIVES THEM TO TAKE ACTION BY BUYING OR AT LEAST ENQUIRING. YOU NEED TO FIND A STYLE THAT SUITS YOU, YOUR PERSONALITY, YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS AND CLIENTS.

This will become your Branding. The whole concept of branding can seem a little boring and a chore. Some people are tempted to skip it all together. Yet it is one of the most important things that will draw your ideal clients/customers and it must be a reflection of you and what you stand for. Never settle for any branding that is not the complete summary of you, and how you serve. Branding is far more than your logo and colours. It’s your style. Your logo and colours must reflect your personal style.

page 8

WHY BRAND? Your brand is how you want to be known in the market. Your brand will help you clearly and consistently communicate who you are and who you serve. It should also express your big vision; your purpose. Your ‘why’ you have chosen to dedicate your work, and possibly a good portion of your life, to serving your target market.

If your business is not a brand, it is a commodity

Your branding is your opportunity to distinguish yourself from the many others in your field and show what is unique about

DONALD TRUMP

you that will set you apart from the others.

Your brand name is only as good as your reputation

This is how you will attract your ideal clients, and if that’s good news, the even better news is that it will also keep away those clients that are less than ideal for you! That’s because they will not connect with your branding; your style. Your ideal clients will.

RICHARD BRANSON

Different styles are attractive and preferable to different types of people. You only have to look at actors. They all do the same thing – they act and play parts to tell a story to us. Yet there are some actors we adore and some we don’t.

Your brand is what other people say about you when you’re not in the room.

You and your service will be exactly the same. Some people will love you, some people won’t. The power is in detaching from those that don’t, and looking after those that do. The more concise, authentic and bold your personal branding, the more easily you’ll attract those who will crawl over hot coals to work with only you!

JEFF BEZOS

page 9

TO DEVELOP YOUR PERSONAL BRANDING SO THAT IT IS TOTALLY ALIGNED AND INSTANTLY RECOGNIZABLE AS YOUR ESSENCE, IT SHOULD BE:

Conflicting emotions that stop you from being fully self-expressed will undermine your success and you probably won’t even be aware of it. You’ll often feel like it’s just not happening for you. Or the economy is bad. Or there are too many competitors. Conflicting emotions will stop you from being able to completely Step Into the Spotlight, and from the perspective of personal branding, will lead to a bland message and less success.

• Clear • Consistent • Authentic • Memorable

In order to create clear intentions for moving confidently and gracefully towards your goals, you must be very precise about what you want, and you must remove the conflicting emotions you currently have.

• Unique

TO TRULY BE LUMINOUS

These may not be openly obvious and you may have to dig deep into your subconscious.

YOU MUST BE FULLY SELFEXPRESSED. Your business is not ‘your business’, a separate entity. The core of your business is YOU. And a magnetic personal brand is one that is courageous, dynamic, vibrant, passionate, gutsy, and even a little provocative. Most aren’t. When you fully express all your most entertaining, endearing, enthralling and engaging qualities, you become captivating to those who are attracted to those qualities. And that means more clients and more sales with less effort and expense in advertising for you.

Here are some of the common conflicts that I’ve identified, both from my own experience and from coaching and mentoring others, that are conflictive with the desire to build their brand to be seen and heard:

The way you brand yourself should be a reflection of how you want to be known, and also how you see yourself as authentically, uniquely you. This enables potential clients to see if you can help them, and secondly if they will ‘gel’ with you.

• If I get too popular and in demand then I won’t have time for myself.

• I’m shy so I’m not comfortable standing out and having attention on me. • If I stand out from the crowd and I’m not good enough or ‘expert’ enough, someone will call me out as a fraud.

• Only the egotistical people promote themselves and it’s purely to get attention. Attention seeking is bad.

page 10

AWARENESS IS POWER.

*TIP* It’s not unusual for us not to be aware of our own magnificence.

If you have pinpointed any conflicts between your desire and your conflicting emotions, your next step is to take action on releasing them. If you find that you are struggling with this, then look at getting additional coaching that is purely focused on changing your limiting beliefs and fears, in order to empower you to truly shine.

EXTRAORDINARY YOU Now that you’ve got rid of all that ‘old stuff’ let’s look at how you’re going to develop your brand and shine! Your style should come naturally to you. Your personal branding which is the essence of your personal style must be uniquely you. It must reflect what is extraordinary, possibly even quirky, about you that others will notice and respond to. To discover what is natural, different and extraordinary about you that you can use to bring you clients, sales, wealth and exuberant happiness, I’m about to ask you one very simple question that will change your life: How are you unique? And here’s another: What are three things that make you memorable?

We see it every day and may have become blasé to it. If this is the case for you, then ask friends, family, clients, colleagues the top five things they like best about you. It’s a big step to decide to stand out and I can understand any hesitation you may have. Yet remember, your work is doomed and your life to one of mediocrity if you aren’t fully and passionately sharing it with the world. And here’s something really big that I personally discovered along the way: When the conflicting emotions are gone and you are fully expressed with who you are and how you serve others, promotion becomes a lot of fun!

BY PURELY BEING YOURSELF IN YOUR UNIQUE WAYS, YOU WILL ATTRACT THOSE WHO YOU CAN TRULY SERVE. You will no longer care about getting a rejection. A rejection only means that you and that person are not a good match to work together. Quickly move on and attract the next opportunity. Consider what is extraordinary and memorable about you. What is Unique and Extraordinary about you is your ready -made branding.

MY JOURNEY BEGINS IN SEPTEMBER 2013 WITH A PHONE CALL‌ I WENT ONTO COMPLETE MY FIRST TRAINING IN SYDNEY AND I DISTINCTLY REMEMBER THE END OF THE FIRST DAY, I LEFT THINKING THESE PEOPLE GET ME, THEY UNDERSTAND MY LANGUAGE, I AM NOT ALONE.

Prior to commencing my coaching journey I was employed in the retail banking sector in a senior management role where I was leading a team of 25 people. In this role I was responsible for building a strong focussed team and I was the voice of the team in Executive Management meetings. On many occasions this saw me torn between what the organisation wanted and what my team was able to provide... I wanted more for my team, so I went in search of different ways that I could become a better leader and a greater voice.

THIS LED ME TO COACHING... page 14

Once I had committed to my studies I advised my employer and provided them with a summary of the studies I was undertaking. They were shocked initially and wanted to fund the studies, this is where I truly stood firm and expressed that this is my journey and I had it all organised.

I truly stepped out into the coaching world on Tuesday 29th April 2014 launching my business with a 2 hour workshop presenting the 10 Success Principles. I listened to this CD collection constantly for 2 weeks prior to the event, at the gym, in the car and I was reading the book at the same time. I transcribed every CD and I live with these principles everyday.

Thursday 14 November 2013, 2 weeks after my Foundations coaching weekend I was given the opportunity to take up coaching full time. I took the opportunity with both hands and have been moving forward ever since‌ I registered my business - Stairway 2 Dreams on the 21 November 2013. I was immersed in webinars, triads and listening to CD’s. I started taking steps to change then person I was, I wanted more for my family, to be a better role model for my sons and a better partner to my husband. To develop my coaching skills and give me the opportunity to practise what I was learning I took part in a coaching program for high school students. This enabled me to coach 2 students for an hour each week for 22 weeks through their mid year exams and through a community service project.

I signed my first business client in May 2014 on a 6 month retainer and have been coaching the business owners and their managers. This client has seen me grow as a coach, after completing EDisc, Advanced Skills, Meta I & Meta II and How to Run a Workshop. I have been grateful for the opportunity to bring all of these skills to my coaching. Building rapport and maintaining it, everything is bread, listening for what is not being said, validating your client and getting out of my own road is only just a few that I

THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST REWARDING EXPERIENCES I HAVE HAD. TO SEE THESE TWO YOUNG PEOPLE GROW THE WAY THEY DID WAS AMAZING.

one word sums it all up ... WOW

jem

switajewski ICG Associate Member Int. Cred. Master Coach Student

I FIRST STARTED WITH COACHING AT THE END OF FEBRUARY IN 2013. MY FIRST TRAINING WEEKEND WAS AWESOME, VALIDATING, INSPIRING, JAM PACKED WITH ‘COOL SHIT’ AND JUST WHAT I NEEDED AT THAT TIME IN MY LIFE IN TERMS OF DETAILING WHAT WAS POSSIBLE AND HOW I COULD ADD VALUE AND MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE IN OTHER PEOPLE’S LIVES.

I had previously been working as a senior leader with a multi-national travel retailer. I loved the industry and certain aspects of the role, such as 1-on-1 coaching and the 1-to-many training/facilitation. However, the constant push to grow profits as the primary focus just wasn’t for me. I had already left this role before starting coaching and had subsequently created a situation for myself where I had to get a successful coaching business happening quick smart, as my wife and I had just started building our house at the time and our 2 boys were always going to need food on the table!!

page 16

With a strong appetite for the classroom component of the course, I booked in and completed all of training days as quickly as possible. And with a real need to earn money, I got out there, joined business networking groups and started coaching as soon as I could. I needed to earn 100k in my first financial year, just to keep the wolves at bay, so I set the goal, focused on where I could add value and make a difference, and I achieved my goal.

I regularly pinch myself and drop into Gratitude for being in the creation of living the dream. I am in my purpose (to help raise the level of human consciousness), and I have more time than ever to be with my family, surf, camp and love life.

ONE WORD SUMS IT ALL UP…. WOW. I MOSTLY HAVE TO ATTRIBUTE THIS

Halfway through that first year I had a light bulb moment while crewing up the back of the room for Meta Dynamics. The dream I had 16 years ago while living in a village in the Himalaya of India of taking clients there one da, became a crystal clear Leadership Development Program.

SUCCESS TO TRUSTING THE ADVICE OF THOSE WHO KNOW. STAND ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS. SAY YES THEN FIGURE OUT HOW. ACTION IS THE ANTIDOTE TO OVERWHELM. AND DEFINITELY FIND A PLACE WHERE

By this stage in my coaching journey, I had become addicted to taking action, and so I formed the company in February this year, Leaders In Life Pty Ltd, and in October 2014, I took my first group of clients on a 12 day High Level Leadership Program in the remote Himalayan mountains around the very same village I had the vision in all those years before.

YOU CAN GIVE AND ADD REAL VALUE TO THE SITUATION. IT AIN’T EASY, AND BLESSINGS FOR THAT!!!

We already have the minimum numbers required for our next trip in May 2015! All of my services are now branded under Leaders In Life, and the snowball is definitely gaining momentum. Leadership has presented itself as a niche and my clients now include one of the top four banks, large private schools, a private hospital, small to medium size businesses, BNI, younger coaching students and the 1:1 life coaching clients. page 17

E.S.I.P. YOUR

Decision Making “IT IS IN YOUR MOMENTS OF DECISION THAT YOUR DESTINY IS SHAPED.” TONY ROBBINS THINK ABOUT THE POWER OF THIS SIMPLE STATEMENT. OUR DECISIONS NOT ONLY CHART A COURSE FOR THE FUTURE DIRECTION OF OUR LIFE, THEY ALSO DETERMINE WHAT WE EXPERIENCE AND HOW WE FEEL AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT.

page 20

Knowing we have the power to shape our future destiny by the decisions we choose to make puts us in the driver’s seat of our own life. Knowing that we are 100 per cent responsible for our decisions empowers us to create more certainty in our lives and take the necessary steps towards our desired outcome. But it takes more than knowing we can make decisions to carve a future; deciding is a verb which presupposes action. And while a non-decision is, in itself, a decision, it is the act of actually making a decision to cause ourselves to think, feel or behave in a particular way, that will ultimately take us in the direction of our desired future.

AS TONY ROBBINS SAYS “YOU KNOW YOU’VE TRULY MADE A DECISION WHEN ACTION FLOWS FROM IT.” So why is it that people can feel there are areas of their life where they feel stuck because they are not making a decision? It is often the feelings of fear that come before a decision that stop people from making a decision. The three universal fears - the fear of not being enough, the fear of not belonging and the fear of not being loved - are ego-based fears designed to keep you in your comfort zone and not make decisions that can move you forward. Although ego is doing its job by protecting you from new things that are outside of your comfort zone, this is exactly the thing preventing you from making decisions so that you can continue to grow and realise the full potential within you.

It’s a curious thing that the more you expand your comfort zone and embrace uncertainty, the more certainty you will gain. So, how do you expand your comfort zone? By making decisions of course, and lots of them! The cliche “repetition is the mother of skill” is just as true for building your decisionmaking muscle. Getting really good at something requires practise and the only way to improve your decision-making prowess is to simply make more decisions, and learn from each and every one of them. Learning from our decisions provides valuable distinctions that serve to help us to make better evaluations about future options and, therefore, better decisions. In his book Awaken the Giant Within, Tony Robbins discusses the three key decisions that you need to control in order to shape your ultimate destiny.

THE THREE DECISIONS THAT CONTROL YOUR DESTINY ARE:

• Your decisions about what to focus on. • Your decisions about what things mean to you. • Your decisions about what to do to create the results you desire.

page 21

The Meta Dynamics advanced thinking model - ESIP - happens to provide the perfect vehicle for ensuring you decide to focus on the right things, give something a meaning that serves you and take the actions needed to shape your ideal future.

ENVIRONMENT Studies reveal that the most successful people make decisions quickly because they are clear on their values and know what goals they want to achieve in life. The same studies indicate that these people are slow to change their decisions. Conversely, people who do not readily experience success typically make decisions slowly and change their minds rapidly. From an environment perspective, decisions that will lead to the greatest transformation in shaping your desired destiny are those which: • Are in line with your purpose

STRUCTURE In his book, Focal Point, Brian Tracey offers a seven-step system of personal strategic planning to enable you to decide where to put the “X” in each part of your life to achieve your desired outcomes. The seven-step system is as follows:

1. Values Decide on the values most important to you in each area of your life.

2. Vision Decide what your life would look like five years from today.

3. Goals Decide was specific goals you need to achieve to realise your future vision.

4. Knowledge & Skills Decide what areas you need to excel in to achieve your goals and vision.

5. Habits Decide what specific habits and rituals you need to develop to become the person you need to be to achieve your goals and vision.

• Will take you closer to your vision

• Are focussed on the outcome you want

• Are aligned with your values and beliefs

6. Daily Activities Decide what specific activities you need to do every day to move you closer to your goals and vision.

7. Actions Decide what specific action you can take straight away to start you on your journey towards your goals and vision.

• Will maintain or improve your personal and professional standards.

page 22

IMPLEMENTATION

“Never leave the scene of a decision without first taking a specific action towards its realisation.” Tony Robbins A easy way to start practising making lots of decisions and reaping their benefits is to use the wheel of life model. Representing the main areas of life as spokes within a circle, the wheel of life is a valuable tool because it gives a visual representation of the level of success you believe you are currently experiencing in each area of life compared with the way you’d ideally like it to be. Simply choose one area of the wheel of life family, career, adventure, health and fitness, friendship, intimate partner, finance or hobbies and interests - where you would like to make some changes or achieve a certain outcome. Once you have determined the way your life is currently in that area, make a decision about how you would like it to be, then write down three things you can do to move forward on that decision. Before moving on to the next spoke in the wheel of life, take a specific action towards the realisation of your decision.

PEOPLE The act of making quality decisions in your life is supported when you have quality people around you. Make a decision about who you need to hang out with (people you consider make great decisions, consistently) and who needs to be on your team (for example, a coach or mentor).

Read books on leadership to gain insight into how great leaders make great decisions and surround yourself with inspirational quotes on decision-making.

HERE’S A FEW TO GET YOU STARTED:

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Theodore Roosevelt

“Inability to make decisions is one of the principal reasons executives fail. Deficiency in decision-making ranks much higher than lack of specific knowledge or technical know-how as an indicator of leadership failure.” John C. Maxwell

“Life is by choice and not by chance”. Sharon Pearson

HAPPY DECISION-MAKING!
