ABOUT THIS HOUSE
L
ocated down a long gravel drive, overlooking an orchard, Gilbournes Farm is in a magical world of its own, secluded and nestled within 8.6 acres of gardens and grounds, yet conveniently located.
Gilbournes Farm is a charming Grade II Listed period farm house, believed to date back to about 1540, with later additions made in the 1680’s and 1760’s. Until the 1960’s the property was a fully working farm. As would be expected of a property of this age, it is awash with stunning period features and it is clear the house has evolved over the centuries. The current owners have conducted a significant amount of work over the last 17 years and the end result is a wonderful period house that is in fabulous condition.

The gardens are beautiful and the view from the kitchen over the brook and towards the copse beyond is magnificent. The lake is a glorious and tranquil mecca for wildlife and is overlooked by the summer house complete with plumbing, heating and a wood burner, with bifold doors that lead to the wooden decked terrace, complete with a brick built pizza oven. This really is a spot to while away the hours on a summer evening. In total there are 8.6 acres, including the formal gardens and paddock.
