teeped in history, The Great Barn was once the corn barn for the neighbouring Manor House, with The Little Barn being the old cart shed. Thought to date back to 1650, this Grade II Listed barn is a traditional elm barn
that once supplied Wallingford Castle and Oxford Colleges. This charming barn conversion with an enormous amount of character is the perfect family home. paintings

chancel
dating
from

Furthermore Chalgrove is the site of a small Civil War battle in 1643, the Battle of Chalgrove Field. The Parliamentarian John Hampden was wounded in the battle, and died of his wounds six days later. A very rare silver Roman coin ( circa 271) was found at Chalgrove: a base silver Roman coin called a radiate of Emperor Domitian II.
