Saluting their sacrifice

Support local veterans and a brand-new MG HS Essence could be yours.

GOLD COASTERS are being encouraged to dig deep to help returning soldiers with the transition back into civilian life.

Veteran support charity Wandering Warriors has teamed up with Pickering Automotive Group to raffle off a brand-new MG HS Essence car in a bid to raise much needed funds, with 100 per cent of all proceeds going towards the charity’s support services.

“Education is one of our primary focus areas, but we also provide respite, mentoring and welfare services,” says Wandering Warriors CEO Quentin Masson DSM.

“The money raised will go primarily to the provision of education courses to veterans to help them navigate the transition from military service to civilian life or business.

“While military service provides each individual with some really unique skills that are valuable to the business community, sometimes veterans need a little bit of additional education to help translate that experience into a civilian or business context.

“There is a huge veteran community on the Gold Coast, in around Southport, as well as Brisbane and Queensland more broadly, and the services that this money will go towards, and the education, really changes lives and changes the direction of families and where they’ll go as they come out of the service.”

Wandering Warriors are extremely grateful for the support and generous donation from the team at Pickering Automotive Group.

“This car is an extremely generous gift and it means that any funds that are raised will go directly to our veterans.”

“We’ve got 22,000 tickets in total, and they start at $10 for a ticket so that’s pretty good odds for winning a brand-new car.”

All proceeds from the raffle will go towards helping Wandering Warriors to support returning veterans and their families through Education, Employment, Respite and Mentoring programs.

First prize in the raffle is a 2021 MG HS Essence valued at $40,190.
