Rounders Further enhancing skills with a wider focus on competitive matches, tactics & decision making.

African Dance Students develop their choreography and teamwork skills to produce a group performance while learning about a different culture. Street Basketball Students continue to refine the core skills of the game and apply defensive and offensive tactics to improve their understanding of the game.

Cricket From competitive cricket representing the school or playing recreational pairs or kwik cricket, students continue to develop the key skills in batting, bowling & fielding.

Tennis Building on skills learnt in Year 7 & 8 with a wider focus on competitive matches, tactics and decision making. Singles and doubles play.

Summer Term Football Football is the primary focus of games afternoons and competitive fixtures in the spring term. Development of individual and team skills/plays.

Rugby Rugby remains the main focus for boys during the autumn term. Offering comprehensive & opportunities for all students to challenge their skills & understanding.

Spring Term

Volleyball Students are challenged to learn a completely new sport and skills to gain an understanding of volleyball.

Movement Prep / Warm Ups Recap on movement prep and opportunity for students to remind themselves of expectations for warm ups for every PE & Games lesson.

Autumn Term

Curriculum Focus Positive Choices Responsibility

Crypt Sport Leaders Students develop their leadership skills to lead part of a whole lesson focusing on skills and conditioned games.

Athletics Students take their practical performance into more competitions. Using iPads to help coach and ensure correct technique is used when throwing or jumping. Soft Ball In games afternoons students will take part in soft ball, understanding the rules and developing the key skills for batting, bowling & fielding. Netball Netball remains the main focus for the autumn term for girls. Offering competitive fixtures and wider opportunities for students to refine their skills. Movement Pathway Students continue to develop their knowledge & performance within the movement pathway. With a wider focus on developing their own training programmes and taking responsibility for living a healthy lifestyle.
