He joined Statoil in 1980 after 15 years in journalism.During his time at Statoil Willy Olsen held a number of senior positions, including Managing Director of Statoil UK and head of Statoil's activities in the former Soviet Union. Willy Olsen has an in-depth knowledge of the role of national oil companies. He has been a member of various advisory boards on Caspian and Russia, and has been a Governor in the Board of Oxford Energy Institute. Mr Olsen is now the Senior Advisor to INTSOK a foundation owned by the Norwegian government and Norwegian oil industry. INTSOK is coordinating the efforts of expanding the internationalisation of the Norwegian petroleum cluster. He is an Associate Fellow of Chatham House in London and member of the Governing Board of Revenue Watch Institute in New York and has in recent years worked with Governments and national oil companies in several oil producing countries.

Frank Patterson, Vice President International Exploration, Anadarko Mr Patterson began his career in the oil and gas industry as a development geologist in 1982 with Sun Oil Company. During his career, he has been responsible for numerous deepwater Gulf of Mexico exploration programs. Patterson currently oversees Anadarkoâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s international exploration activities and has managed the Jubilee and Tweneboa discoveries in Ghana, as well as the Wahoo and Itaipu pre-salt discoveries in Brazil. Jon Goodale, Director of Exploration & Development, Transocean Solutions Jon Goodale is responsible for prospect screening and facilitating project funding. Jim Tait joined the oil industry in 1980 from nuclear power and has spent the longest portion of his oil industry career engineering all aspects of Subsea Production System equipment coupled with field development optimisation. As FMC Technologies Subsea Engineering Manager in 1997, he transferred into sales and marketing after presenting at the first Offshore West Africa Conference in Gabon in November 1996 after discovering the enormous potential of the continent. He has spearheaded FMC Technologies entry into the Subsea Production system market in Africa, establishing legal entities and operations in many Countries along the way. He has worked for FMC for a period of 20 years.

Dr Toni Aubynn, Corporate Affairs Director, Gold Fields, Ghana Dr Toni Aubynn is a leading community relations and social development practitioner and has over 12 years experience in Ghana’s Mining industry. He is currently the Head of Corporate Affairs and Social Development at Gold Fields Ghana. Dr Aubynn plays a leading role in the design and implementation of Gold Fields Ghana’s flagship CSR programme popularly known as SEED. Gennady Toropov, Head of New Ventures, LUKOIL Overseas Gennady Toropov graduated from Moscow State University in 1978 with an MSc in marine geomorphology. From 1982 to 1986 he was a postgraduate researcher at the Institute of Oceanology of the Soviet Academy of Sciences (Moscow), where he specialised in shelf litho dynamics and continental margin geologic development. In 1986 he received a PhD in marine geology. For the last 30 years he has been actively involved in exploration projects carried out by Russian and major international oil companies. Andrew Jupiter, President, The National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NEC) Andrew N Jupiter holds the position of Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister. David Cowan, Economist, Africa, Citigroup David Cowan is currently a Director at Citi and the economist responsible for the banks economic research on Africa (excluding South Africa). Prior to joining Citi in July 2007, he had been Senior Economist at the Economist Intelligence Unit in London for eight years. He has a wide ranging knowledge of financial and foreign exchange markets in Africa, global oil markets and the problems of maximizing the benefits of natural resources in African countries. He obtained a first degree in economics from the University of Bath and a PhD from the University of London.

George Aboagye, CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Since 1984, George Aboagye has been involved in Trade and Investment Promotion Programmes in Africa and Asia as an Advisor/Consultant for multi–lateral and bi–lateral agencies. He served as the World Bank Implementation Consultant and USAID/Trade and Investment Programme (TIP) Special Adviser respectively, for the Development of the Ghana Free Zones Programme from 1994 to 2001 and simultaneously as the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB) from 1996 to 2001. Sandeep Kohli, Sector Lead, Sub-Saharan Africa, IFC Sandeep Kohli, CFA is IFC’s Sector Lead in Sub-Saharan Africa for Oil, Gas and Chemical sectors. He has some 18 years of international experience in the energy sector, ranging from business development, power and LNG project development, commercial operations, and asset management. He has a Bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and has MS degrees from Cornell University, New York, the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and the Institut Francais du Petrole (ENSPM), in Paris. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst since 2006.

Justina Akyeampong, Chief Legal Officer, GNPC Justina is a Petroleum Lawyer, and is the Chief Legal Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. She has more than twenty years experience working as in-house counsel for the national petroleum corporation. Justina is a pioneer in the petroleum sector in Ghana and participated in the 1980s, in the preparation of the laws governing petroleum exploration and production and the first Model Petroleum Agreement to be used in petroleum negotiations. She was part of the Negotiations Committee that negotiated Ghana’s earlier Petroleum Agreements in the 1980s such as the Diamond Shamrock Agreement, the Amoco Agreement and the Shell/Unocal Agreement. Darcy White, Director Tax, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ghana Darcy is a Chartered Accountant of Canada with over 22 years experience in taxation across Canada, Western Europe and in Ghana. He spearheaded the presentation of a paper to the revenue authorities on proposed amendments to the Internal Revenue Act, 2000 (Act 592) as amended to incorporate the Petroleum Income Tax Law. Darcy is the tax partner on the majority of operators and contractors as well as for a large portion of the subcontractors operating in Ghana. He and his team have also provided tax advice to petroleum operators in Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Roberto M Sieber, Chief Economist, Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited Roberto joined Shell in 1981, initially holding various positions in one of Shell’s German refineries. He then moved to Central Offices in The Hague where he assisted Shell’s global refinery network with advice on refinery economics, planning and scheduling, holding assignments in the Far East, Europe and Canada. Thereupon followed two external assignments: In 1993 at Concawe in Brussels, advising on strategic industry planning and in 1995 at the OECD in Paris, as expert on refining issues and oil market analysis.
