YOUTH TENNIS LESSONS

Discover tennis as a sport you can play with just one person, or with many! Lessons have been restructured to include competitive play for age appropriate groups. All equipment is provided if necessary.

Junior Tennis Day League

Boys & girls grades 3-6. Park & Rec instructors will coach the juniors together, then split into teams. This is a league to actually play the game—some prior tennis lessons are required.

Boys Advanced

Session 1 participants should register at age appropriate level. Park & Rec staff reserves the right to adjust groups based on ability and parents’ approval.

Track Meet: Thursday, June 29 Location: DWU Fieldhouse

DWU Track & Field Coach Matt Rosado, along with staff and athletes will provide instruction. Program will conclude with a track meet at DWU Fieldhouse.

Activity #1108.101.23 — Beginners: 8:30-9:30am Tuesdays & Thursdays. Completed grades 2nd-5th students will be introduced to all aspects of track including sprints, distance, relay and field events.

Activity #1108.102.23 — Advanced: 9:30-10:30am Tuesdays & Thursdays. Completed grades 6th-11th students will be introduced to more technical details of track events. Great for Middle & High School athletes.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!! Spend the afternoons playing outdoor games such as Bean Bags, Ladder Golf, Croquet, Bocce Ball & Disc Golf. Games will be active for both mind & body while enjoying time outdoors having fun. From setup to tear-down, some will enjoy games they love, while others may experience something new & exciting. Games will take place at Munroe Park.

BIKES & PARKS BEGINNERS

Join Joan Lubben and others from Palace City Pedalers as they incorporate two things kids love, bikes & Parks. Participants will receive isntruction on biking safety on city streets as well as an introduction to various city parks in Mitchell. The program will run on Monday afternoons in June. Particpants will need to be able to ride a bike and provide their own bike and helmet.

Program also includes a bike tuneup at Ron’s Bicycle Shop. Minor repairs and inspection will be funded by Palace City Pedalers. Please make arrangements prior to June 5.

Under the guidance of Joan Lubben from Palace City Pedalers, riders will be introduced to the fun of biking single track trails. This program will reinforce biking safety & proper riding technique while exploring the numerous trails around Lake Mitchell. The program will run on Monday afternoons in July. Participants will at and return to different trail heads at various locations on the lake.
