Mitchell Summer Activities

This camp is a hands-on, project-based camp exploring different STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) topics. Students will be exploring topics from the following eight clusters: circuitry, computer graphics, digital communications, mechanics and structures, robotics and control technology, scientific data and analysis, software engineering and sustainability. After we have explored each topic, students will have the opportunity to create their own project in a cluster of their choice. It’s like recess for your brain!

MITCHELL’S URBAN FORESTRY SYSTEM

Re-Tree Mitchell The Parks & Recreation Department offers a 75% reimbursement (up to $100 for the purchase of trees that are planted in or near the boulevard. Limit of 2 trees per year. Call the Parks & Recreation office for more details.

How do I get my tree checked over? The Division does “tree checks” each Friday - any citizen who has a concern about a tree on a boulevard should call 995-8450 and ask for Angel.

FREE SUMMER CONCERTS

Every WEDNESDAY in June and July 7:30 pm in Hitchcock Park

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy as Joe Pekas and the Municipal Band bring smiles to your face and keep everyone tapping their toes with great music!! (In case of rain, Wednesday concerts will be held at the Firesteel Health Care Center–everyone welcome)
