Palace Transit Can Help! Buses are available for transportation to and from the Parks & Recreation prog rams. Price is $2.00 for a one-way Monday thru Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm and $3.00 one-way evenings and weekends. The Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Recreation Center Conference Room. For boys who have completed 5th & 6th grade. Registration deadline is April 27. Volunteer coaches meeting April 26 at 6:00 pm at the Rec Center. Volunteer dads will be needed to coach. Schedules will be emailed out on April 27.

Skills, drills, and scrimmages will make this 7 weeks a fun Intro to softball. The program is for girls who have completed Kindergarten through 1st grade. Each group will meet for approximately 1 hour. Bring a softball glove.

We will play 18 holes at Kiwanis and 18 holes and Dry Run Creek. Results will be flighted with prizes for flight winners. Experience is not a requirement, HAVING FUN IS! GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL SWIM LESSONS:

All classes are taught by Red Cross Certified Instructors. Please wear swim-wear to class. Bring a towel. Parents are welcome to attend, but must sit in the spectator area to allow children to learn independently with their instructors.

RED CROSS SWIM LESSON COURSES Parent & Child Aquatics – Starfish Fee: $25 Ages 2 or 3 The purpose of Parent and Child Aquatics is to teach safe behaviors around the water and develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around water. Parent & Child Aquatics – Tadpoles Fee: $25 Ages 3 or 4 The purpose of Parent and Child Aquatics is to teach safe behaviors around the water and develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on and around water. Preschool Aquatics Fours – Clownfish Fee: $35 Preschool Aquatics aims to promote the developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and aquatic skills to young children in a logical progression. Preschool Aquatics Fives – Dolphins Fee: $35 Preschool Aquatics aims to promote the developmentally appropriate learning of fundamental water safety and aquatic skills to young children in a logical progression. Level 1 Swim – Into to Water Exploration Fee: $35 The Red Cross recommends age 6 as a starting age for this class, as well as 5-year-olds who have previously taken preschool aquatics without a parent in the water with them. Elementary swim skills are introduced. Level 2 Swim – Fundamental Aquatic Skills Fee: $35 The beginning of true locomotive skills in the water such as floating, kicks and arm motions. Level 3 Swim – Stroke Development Fee: $35 Builds on earlier skills an introduces the crawl strokes, backstroke, treading water and basic diving form. Level 4 Swim – Stroke Improvement Fee $35 Deep water skills and strength development through distance swimming. Level 5 Swim – Stroke Refinement Fee: $35 Requires strength and endurance as 50 meter swims are introduced in the crawl strokes, and 25 meter swims will be required in the breaststroke, sidestroke and backstroke. Level 6 Swim – Personed Water Safety Fee: $35 “Level 6 – Fitness Swimmer” working on distance swimming and endurance.

The Mitchell Rec Center and Sanford Hea lth will be offering four Saturday morning Boo t Camps for parents and kids this summer! Each class will take place at a different park throughout the highlighting the activities available at each city, specific site! A staff member will be present to supervise the kids while an instructor runs the Boo t Camp for the adults! Space is limited, so keep an eye out for dates, times and locations! LAKE MITCHELL CAMPGROUND

A

family camping center overlooking Lake Mitchell with fishing, swimming, canoes, pedal boats, paddle boards, playground, hiking trail and a laundry facility. The campground includes 59 RV campsites with full hookups and 16 Tent Sites. The campground is open from April 1st through October 31st. Full hookups include water, sewer and electricity. RV sites have 50 amp or 30 amp sites available, tent sites with electricity are also available. Reservations begin online September 1st each year. Reservable dates are May 15 through September 15. First-come, first served sites are available daily but not guaranteed. Self-pay system is utilized for first-come, first-served. There is no manager on-site, campground hosts are available to assist campers.

Age appropriate teams will play in Mitchell and travel out of town for soccer games and tournaments. Players can select as few or as many games and tournaments they would like to play in. All Coaches are licensed.
