Macy’s, Inc. (513-579-7000) is planning to open a Macy’s store in Ponce, Puerto Rico during this fiscal year. The company is also slated to open Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s locations in Miami, FL and a Bloomingdale’s store in San Jose, CA during 2017, in addition to openings in Abu Dhabi and United Arab Emirates during 2018. The company currently operates 825 Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s locations nationwide and in Guam and Puerto Rico, along with 13 Bloomingdale’s Outlet stores. Whole Foods Market, Inc. (512-477-4455) is planning to open a 50,000 sq.ft. Whole Foods Market at the intersection of Route 22 and Chimney Rock Road in Bridgewater, NJ during late 2017. Plans also call for a 43,000 sq.ft. store to open in Metuchen, NJ. The chain, offering organic and natural food items, currently operates more than 406 specialty supermarkets nationwide and in Canada and the United Kingdom and also operates under a spa concept trading as Milk + Honey Spa. Von Maur Department Store (877-8666287) is planning to open a 140,000 sq.ft. Von Maur department store at The Corners of Brookfield, a 750,000 sq.ft. lifestyle center situated on 19 acres along West Bluemound Road in Milwaukee, WI during fall 2016. The project will also feature 235 luxury apartments. The company offers family apparel, footwear and accessories, as well as gift items. Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza + Grill (760-4381212) recently launched a new fast-casual restaurant concept, trading as Table 89, in Las Vegas, NV. In addition to offering pizza, the concept will serve small plates, soups, sandwiches, pasta salads in an order-at-thecounter format. The company currently operates 16 locations, trading as Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza + Grill, throughout CA and NV. 1000 Degrees Pizzeria (856-318-4772), through franchised expansion, is opening restaurants throughout AZ, CA, FL, MI, NJ, OH, PA, TX and VA this year. The chain, offering family apparel, footwear and accessories, as well as home décor items and beauty and wellness products, currently operates 277 full-line locations and 20 clearance stores throughout 29 states nationwide. Urban Outfitters, Inc. (215-454-5500) is forecasted to operate 345 Urban Outfitters locations worldwide over the next six years. The company, offering apparel, footwear and accessories for men and women, currently operates more than 1,400 locations nationwide and internationally, trading as Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People and Terrain. Newk’s Eatery (601-982-1160) has plans to open 30 locations this year through corporate and franchised expansion plans.
