WHO’S OPENING AND WHERE Dunkin’ Brands (781-737-3000), through a franchisee expansion plan, is opening nine Dunkin’ Donuts locations throughout Albuquerque, NM and the surrounding areas beginning in the summer of 2016. The company, serving coffee, donuts and breakfast sandwiches, operates more than 11,300 Dunkin’ Donuts locations worldwide. easyhome, Ltd. (888-528-3279) has plans to open 60 locations this year. The company, based in Canada, offers lease-to-own home furnishings, appliances and electronics, and currently operates 188 easyhome leasing stores and 194 easyfinancial locations. Cabela’s, Inc. (308-254-5505) is planning to open an 81,000 sq.ft. Cabela’s store off Exit 153 of Interstate 90 near Chester Road in Avon, OH during 2016. It will be the company’s fourth location in the state. The chain, offering hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and other outdoor-related equipment, apparel and gear, currently operates 67 locations nationwide. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (479-273-4000) is proposing the development of a 40,000 sq.ft. Walmart Neighborhood Market at the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Grand Street in Springfield, MO during early 2016. The fast casual artisanal pizzeria chain offers customers a create-your-own pizza concept.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. (512-477-4455) is planning to open a Whole Foods Market along Elgin between Smith Street and Brazos Street in the Midtown neighborhood of Houston, TX during the end of 2017. It will be the company’s 11th location in the area. Plans also call for the opening of a 40,000 sq.ft. flagship supermarket along Landmark Drive near Kimball Junction in Park City, UT during early 2017. The store, targeting millennials, will offer an expanded prepared foods department and a taproom for beer and wine, in addition to a fresh-pressed juice bar. The company is slated to open additional stores of this format early next year. The chain, offering organic and natural food items, currently operates 417 specialty supermarkets nationwide and in Canada and the United Kingdom and also operates under a spa concept trading as Milk + Honey Spa. Newk’s Eatery (601-982-1160), through franchisee expansion plans, is looking to operate eight locations throughout the Gulf Coast region of the U.S. by 2017. The chain, offering salad, pizza, soups and dessert items, currently operates nearly 80 locations throughout 13 states and plans to operate more than 200 units by the end of 2018. Zips Franchising, LLC (301-313-0389), through a franchisee, is planning to open more than 100 Zips Dry Cleaners locations during the next several years throughout NJ, PA, OH and VA. The company plans to operate 50 locations by the end of the year and currently operates 39 sites, primarily in MD.
