If in case there is an ad running with your older account, then you will be charged for it in the older currency.
The Currency to which you are changing must belong the country for which you are running your business. For example, if a user has opted for BRL as the new currency, then they should set Brazil as their home country. If in case you choose any other Country than Brazil for creating the Facebook ad account, then, later on, you can not change your Country name to Brazil.
