Homemade fudgy brownies topped with a silky-smooth cocoa buttercream frosting come to life as Reindeer Brownies with sugar eyes and a bright red candy nose!

Ingredients for brownies

240g butter 330g granulated sugar 4 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 120g flour 150g unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 tsp salt

120g of butter, at room temperature 200g icing sugar 90g unsweetened cocoa powder 60ml of milk 48 edible candy eyes 24 assorted red candy for noses 48 mini candy canes or chocolate covered mini pretzels for antlers

Instructions for brownie:

Preheat oven to 180 Â° C. Line a 13-inch x 9-inch baking pan with foil leaving a 2-inch overhang. Coat with non-stick cooking spray.

In microwave-safe bowl, melt 240g of butter. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until blended.

Stir in flour, 150g of cocoa powder and salt until a batter forms.

Spread evenly in a prepared baking tin and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.

Let cool for 15 minutes in tin. Using foil overhang, transfer brownie to wire rack and let it cool completely.

Meanwhile, beat 120g of butter until creamy. Combine icing sugar and 90g of cocoa powder in bowl and whisk until blended. Gradually add icing sugar mixture until blended. Add milk and beat until creamy and smooth. Spread frosting over top of cooled brownies.

2. Cut brownies horizontally into three sections.

Directions

• 180ml chilled whipping cream • 240ml freshly ground coffee (preferably a mild roast) • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon • 1 1⁄2 tablespoons powdered sugar • 5 teaspoons ground cardamom • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg • 1 tablespoon brandy • 1 tablespoon sugar • 1.5 litres of water

Using electric mixer, beat whipping cream in a large bowl to soft peaks.

Add powdered sugar and brandy; beat to peaks.

Place ground coffee, cardamom, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in coffee filter. Using spoon, mix gently.

Add water to the coffee maker and brew according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Divide coffee among 8 cups, then garnish each with a dollop of whipped cream and serve immediately.

PETERSFIELD DECEMBER 2019 THE DIRECTORY GROUP ATTEND TPS CAREERS FAIR In November, the Petersfield School held their annual careers fair for year 9-11 pupils - who are in the process of considering their GCSE/A Levels and beginning to think about what they’d like to do as a career in the future. The event, held in the school sports hall, hosted many organisations connected to various careers, including The Directory Group, who were representing publishing and the different aspects of this field including graphic design, social media, journalism and photography.

Our own creative team from The Directory Group, Zoe and Emma (our graphic designers) attended the event, ready to speak about the role they play in the company and how they got there. The girls spoke to lots of young people, who came prepared with insightful questions about magazine publishing and the different skills needed to create

The Directories and Beautiful South Magazine each month. “It was fantastic to hear so many of them were interested in media, graphic design and journalism, and hopefully our team were able to offer information and insight about our daily jobs, and hopefully inspire those who are interested in our occupations.”

THE PETERSFIELD MUSEUM’S £3.7 MILLION ‘PATHWAYS INTO THE PAST’ PROJECT In the New Year, 2020, when the new Petersfield Museum re-opens, visitors will find beautiful collections and galleries that would make any community proud. Rooted in the community, the Petersfield Museum’s £3.7 million ‘Pathways into the Past’ project is very much FOR the community. For the first time, the Petersfield Museum will be combining all of their collections to tell a cohesive story of Petersfield and its nearby villages.
