Homemade fudgy brownies topped with a silky-smooth cocoa buttercream frosting come to life as Reindeer Brownies with sugar eyes and a bright red candy nose!

240g butter 330g granulated sugar 4 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 120g flour 150g unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 tsp salt
120g of butter, at room temperature 200g icing sugar 90g unsweetened cocoa powder 60ml of milk 48 edible candy eyes 24 assorted red candy for noses 48 mini candy canes or chocolate covered mini pretzels for antlers
Instructions for brownie:
1.
Preheat oven to 180 ° C. Line a 13-inch x 9-inch baking pan with foil leaving a 2-inch overhang. Coat with non-stick cooking spray.
2.
In microwave-safe bowl, melt 240g of butter. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Add eggs and vanilla, stirring until blended.
3.
Stir in flour, 150g of cocoa powder and salt until a batter forms.
4.
Spread evenly in a prepared baking tin and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
5.
Let cool for 15 minutes in tin. Using foil overhang, transfer brownie to wire rack and let it cool completely.

Meanwhile, beat 120g of butter until creamy. Combine icing sugar and 90g of cocoa powder in bowl and whisk until blended. Gradually add icing sugar mixture until blended. Add milk and beat until creamy and smooth. Spread frosting over top of cooled brownies.
2. Cut brownies horizontally into three sections.

• 180ml chilled whipping cream • 240ml freshly ground coffee (preferably a mild roast) • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon • 1 1⁄2 tablespoons powdered sugar • 5 teaspoons ground cardamom • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg • 1 tablespoon brandy • 1 tablespoon sugar • 1.5 litres of water

Using electric mixer, beat whipping cream in a large bowl to soft peaks.

Add powdered sugar and brandy; beat to peaks.

Place ground coffee, cardamom, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in coffee filter. Using spoon, mix gently.

Add water to the coffee maker and brew according to manufacturer’s instructions.
5
Divide coffee among 8 cups, then garnish each with a dollop of whipped cream and serve immediately.

HAVANT & ROWLANDS CASTLE DEC 2019 DEMENTIA FRIENDLY CRICKET WITH GET UP & GO Havant Borough Council have now set up dementia friendly cricket, which locals can enjoy with their friends, family and carers. Dementia friendly cricket sessions are being held each week from 2-3pm in the sports hall of Havant Leisure Centre starting in November until late December.
The activity doesn’t require running, and it’s a great way to socialise and have fun! Everyone who attends is invited for a free cup of tea after the session! To take part it’s only £2 per person, which can be paid on arrival at reception. Book now by visiting the Get up and Go website. The next events are on the 4th, 11th and 18th of December. TOP DOG GETS SPECIAL RECYCLING REWARD A very special pup has been awarded for her environmental efforts. An eight-yearold Staffordshire Bull Terrier, named Koko, regularly picks up bottles on her walks – which are the recycled by her owner and local Havant resident, Talan James. After this story was heard by Havant Borough, Koko and Talan were invited to meet the Mayor of Havant and presented with the 'Canine Award for Services to the Environment’ a prestigious award given to dogs who do their part for the environment. During Koko’s visit with the mayor, Koko showed off her vast bottle collection, which was waiting to be recycled - and enjoyed some tasty doggy treats! When she was a puppy, Koko was taught how to fetch using plastic bottles and over the years, her owner estimates that she has helped recycle more than 1000 items littered in parks across Havant. Recycling a single plastic bottle will save enough energy to power a lightbulb for three hours or more. “When we heard about Koko’s amazing work we felt she deserved a special award. She’s truly a special dog, and her efforts show how doing something little each day can make a big difference to the local environment.” Havant Borough Council, alongside influencers like Final Straw Solent - have already taken steps to become greener and reducing the plastic wasted throughout the borough, and by stopping the use of plastic cups and straws at the Plaza.
