CALL OUT TO SCHOOLS FOR 1916 PROJECTS Hugely important to Leitrim is the 100th year of the proclamation of the Republic. There are a number of national call-outs inviting young people and schools to get involved in the celebrations. Primary and post-primary schools are being encouraged by The Department of Education and Skills to develop ideas through oral history, literature, drama, music and art. To illustrate the changing face of Ireland school children are also being asked to trace their family tree back to 1916. Wherever in the world that might bring stories from, The Dock is keen to support schools to realise their projects in the theatre and community spaces here over the course of March 2016.
