Please join us for the opening preview: FRIDAY, July 3rd, 6pm Exhibition runs from: July 4th to September 12th, 2015.
WATER CONVERSATIONS is the umbrella term for an ongoing series of works by Leitrim-based artist Anna Macleod that addresses water through political, social and cultural lenses. Macleod’s aim has been to build an alternative, global commons map of this finite resource—water—a substance that is at the core of life itself. Articulated as a series of actions, small sculptures, posters, drawings, sound works, interdisciplinary collaborations, public interventions and site specific works, WATER CONVERSATIONS explores the complex interstices between landscape and geopolitics, science and technology, culture and tradition. To date projects have been realized in Ghana, West Africa: a variety of locations through Northern India; Colorado, USA; Ireland and the Gobi Desert, Mongolia, Alberta Canada and Almería, Spain and in October 2015, Broken Hill, NSW, Australia.
