“Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” espionage novel with a little help from the crème de la crème of British acting talent. Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight) is George Smiley, a retired intelligence agent recalled to sniff out a Soviet mole who’s managed to infiltrate the MI6. Set in the 1970s, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy promises to be an intelligent old-school spy caper that prizes atmosphere over whiz-bang special effects, painting a portrait of international espionage very much at odds with the glitz and glamour of Bond. - Cambridge Film Festival 2011 Still part of our Classic Cinema series, but this time with a modern twist, tickets can be bought through the box office 071 96 50 828 and on our website, www.thedock.ie €5 includes tea / coffee and biscuits on arrival.

Meet the Maker Whiskey Tasting Event: Paul Coyne from Nine Design will be here on the 27th Feb at 7pm to launch his new collection 55B. Paul Coyne’s new jewellery collection artfully combines the contemporary elegance of matt sterling silver with the golden patina of wood carved from old whiskey casks. Two classic materials fuse – the hallmarked matt silver, restrained in its reflection, frames the heritage wood now tinted pale gold in hues absorbed from fine malts and mature Irish whiskey blends during the aging process. The precious colours blend not so much like ancient treasure but as a punctuation mark for a new era of understated style and inspired design. Pendants drop elegantly from delicate chains, cufflinks declare an individuality devoid of pretence – everything is restrained, easy. Earrings, bangles, rings, tie clips reflect the mood of modern lifestyles. With a further twist of imagination Paul calls the collection ‘ 55b’. It is named after the number of the barge that once transported world famous Tullamore Dew whiskey from its remowned distillery along the grand canal to Dublin on its journey to international acclaim. Pop in and meet Paul at 7pm and taste a whiskey with him. Let your senses be fulfilled! Culture and Craft Intercultural Dialogue Week May 21 2013: Leitrim Design House is pleased to present a selection of the work produced as part of the Culture and Craft programme carried out under the Intercultural Support Programme.
