We think it’s safe to say decorating your house or condo or apartment for Tomato Art Fest has become a tradition. So, once again, the great satraps of tomatodom are encouraging you to up your game with a little competition. It’s for a great cause, too, being as it’s a fundraising event for the Margaret Maddox Family YMCA in East Nashville. Run the race, then stay for the Tomato Art Fest and make a day of it! TOMATO ART FEST “PUSH, PULL, & WEAR PARADE” Team Tomato wants you to participate by building a float that can be pushed, pulled, carried, or worn on your body. Entries for the parade are limited so sign up early.

KIDS ART SHOW + CONTEST TOMATO ART FEST ART SHOW We think there is no finer collection of tomato art to be found east of the Mississippi, and maybe even in the entire tomato-eating world! (We would say UNIVERSE, but that would just be bragging.) Now, we realize this is a bold statement, so you will just have to come out and see for yourself if you think we are right. Artist applications for the show are available at tomatoartfest.com.

Calling all kids! Now is the time to show off your artistic skills and become a tomato artist. Your artwork should include at least one “tomatolike” element of any kind. The rest is up to your imagination. Age Categories: 3 yrs. and under; 4-6 yrs.; 7-9 yrs.; 10-11 yrs.; 12-13 yrs. GUIDELINES: • Artwork should be two-dimensional and can be done in any media — paint, pencil, crayon, pastels, collage, etc. • Due to hanging and size constraints, please, NO canvases or framed artwork with glass. Please use paper or thin poster board. • Artwork should not exceed 12 x 18 inches or 18 x 18 inches. • One entry per artist. • Entry form available at tomatoartfest.com • Artist’s name, parent’s/guardian’s name, age, phone number, address, and email address should be listed on the back of the entry in the top left corner. Judging will also include creative art awards for: Best of Show and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each category. Artwork should be dropped off at Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. EEUMC’S TOMATO ART KIDFEST 2019 Hosted by East End United Methodist Church Again this year, children of all ages are invited to the Tomato Art KIDFEST, a celebration of community fun just for kids (and their families) during the Tomato Art Fest in East Nashville. FREE activities will include inflatable fun with a water slide, FREE popsicles, FREE “tomato head” hair painting, and a FREE kid’s craft.

FAUX PAW FASHION SHOW If you like to dress up your pet, and parade it around town, then this event was made for you. The Faux Paw Fashion Show is open to pets of all species, and is a costume contest to see who can dress their dog, cat, bird, monkey, lizard, ferret, reptile, marsupial, insect, etc., in the best-looking tomato inspired outfit that can be dreamed into existence.

TOMATO ART FEST CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT The tomato — THE uniter of all fruits and vegetables — loves to celebrate even the simple grains. With that being said, the ever popular Tomato Art Fest Cornhole Tournament returns. This fun event involves two players tossing bags of corn at a 6-inch hole 10 yards away. Sound easy?
