Altitude Angel Initiates Implementation of Specialized Low-Altitude Aviation Surveillance Network

Altitude Angel is deploying the largest commercial sensor network in the UK designed specifically for detecting lowaltitude drones and aircraft. The network includes purpose-built ADS-B and Mode S receivers, along with SDR capabilities to detect 'Remote ID' broadcasts from drones and collect transmission information from their control systems. It can identify drones with or without intentional location broadcasts and even detect low-flying crewed aviation without signals. The additional data integrates into Altitude Angel's air-surveillance picture, creating a real-time digital map of low-altitude airspace. The network's expansion includes 30 locations across England, enabling largescale automated BVLOS drone operations while ensuring safety in unsegregated airspace. It utilizes certified aviationgrade hardware for improved reception and coverage. Third parties can access the surveillance data through Altitude Angel's Developer Platform. The network's focus on low-altitude airspace caters to drones and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) operators, enhancing safety and visibility for these airspace users.
