Thesedroneslooklikeminiatureairplanesandcanflyforlong distancesanddurations.Theyareusuallypoweredbygasor electricmotorsandhaveahigh-speedrangeofupto150km/h. Theycancarryheavypayloadsandhaveahigh-resolution cameramountedonthenoseorthebelly.

However,fixed-wingdronesalsohavesomedrawbacks.They areexpensiveandrequirealargespacefortakeoffandlanding. Theyarenotveryagileandcannothoverorflybackward. Subsequently,theyarealsonoisyandmayattractunwanted attention.Theyarenotsuitableforindoororurban environmentsandmayrequirealicensetooperate.

Pros:Longflighttimeandrange,heavypayloadcapacity,high imagequalityandresolution.

Cons:Highcost,largespacerequirement,lowmaneuverability, noise,licenserequirement.

Fixed-wingdronesarebestforprojectsthatrequirelarge-scale mapping,surveying,ormonitoringofremoteareas.For
