BeforejoiningCalArts,Travistaughtat institutionslikeYaleSchoolofDrama, ColumbiaSchooloftheArts,NewYork University,theNationalTheaterSchoolof Denmark,IndianaUniversity,andtheHong KongAcademyforthePerformingArts,and HarvardUniversity AtHarvard,he spearheadedtheSummerDramaProgramfor sixyears.

FromhisearlydaysasamemberoftheBoyScoutsof America,Dr.Jonesdiscoveredhistruecalling:tomakea meaningfulimpactontheworld.Motivatedbyan unwaveringdetermination,hedevelopedanatural inclinationtopositivelyinfluencethelivesofothers throughactiveparticipationincommunityservice initiatives.Asafirst-generation,non-traditionalcollege studentatTallahasseeCommunityCollege(TCC),Dr Jones’scommitmenttoexcellencepropelledhimforward, ultimatelyleadingtohisbachelor’sandPh.D.inbiology fromtheprestigiousFloridaStateUniversity(FSU).

EvolutionoftheUniversity

TheUniversityofMaineatMachias(UMM)hasarich historyrootedineducation.Initiallyestablishedin1952as theWashingtonStateTeachers’College,itevolvedfromthe WashingtonStateNormalSchool,foundedin1911.After joiningtheUniversityofMaineSystem(UMS)in1968,it becametheUniversityofMaineatMachiasin1970.
