NSHMBA - Successfully hosted 4th Annual Executive Perspective
With the mission of accelerating Hispanic business talent, the National Conference of NSHMBA was another great success this year. NSHMBA 2011 Conference & Career Expo Makes a Big Impact in Anaheim Anaheim, CA —Saturday, October 15, marked the close of another successful and impactful National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) Conference and Career Expo, this year being held in Anaheim, California. Sponsors and conference attendees noted both the quality of the more than 5,300 attendees from the academic and professional sectors. From current students and newly minted graduate students to the seasoned professional, each came to interact, network, learn and enhance their career paths – with more than 250 corporate, academic, non-profit and government exhibitors with booths on the career expo floor. The first day of the conference – was host to a full day of seminars, workshops, and networking events, known as Professional Development Day. Some of the 500 Fortune Companies, hosted breakout sessions on topics of career development, diversity, finance, global management, leadership, marketing and strategy. The second day was the official ribbon cutting, where NSHMBA CEO Manny Gonzalez, University of California System Dean Mark Yudof and representatives

from this year’s lead sponsor companies officially welcomed the attendees of the 2011 Conference & Career Expo before opening the expo hall floor. Other notable events included the Entrepreneurial Success Program sponsored by Nationwide, and the Scholarship Luncheon, sponsored by Target, where recipients of this year’s NSHMBA Scholarship Program were recognized. The NSHMBA Women Leadership Network, NSHMBA’s tribute to both past and present female leadership, convened for its second year to address initiatives for the future. Putting the official cap on this year’s conference was the Brillante Awards for Excellence Ceremony, where some Hispanic leaders were recognized for their dedication and steadfastness to the Hispanic community. The conference concluded with the official announcement and invitation to join NSHMBA during the 2012 Conference & Career Expo in Florida, October 13-16.
