I’ve never seen a more elegant and intimate wedding than Ashley and Kyle Peecher’s. The outdoor ceremony was held at Angel’s View Wedding Chapel in Tennessee on October 26, 2019. The attention to detail was unmatched from the gorgeous multicolored flowers and succulents decorating the venue, rustic embellishments and garlands delicately placed, a sentimental candle that burned throughout the entire reception for loved ones lost, photos of the beautiful couple’s adventures together peppered throughout the reception hall and peach decorated cookies to represent Ashley becoming part of the Peech-er family. Ceremony: Blessed Sacrament | Reception: President Abraham Lincoln Hotel I was so excited to photograph the wedding of Edie and Luke because these two were just made for each other; they even share the same birthday and were born just hours apart! Edie’s vision came to life with an art deco theme and there were so many beautiful personal touches throughout the day. As Edie dressed for her day, she used old family heirlooms: a mirror, brush, and locket from her grandma, named Edith. Luke and the guys wore classic black tuxes to pull together the theme perfectly. Luke was calm all morning, just so excited to see his bride and celebrate with friends. We all met at the church, where Edie’s dad walked her own the aisle to Luke to make it official. After the ceremony, Edie and Luke exited the church to waving ribbons before hopping onto their party bus to begin the celebrations. We traveled downtown to popular spots for portraits. Their bridal party was so much fun; sweet and accommodating to us. We just loved hanging out with them! On the tables were floral centerpieces, while ferns adorned the altar and band stage. Edie hand-painted the band backdrop and she also created 14-foot-tall ‘illusion windows’ in the ballroom. Her mom and aunt sewed the gold satin curtains. The room was absolutely beautiful! Everything came together perfectly thanks to so many amazing vendors. I am so excited to share the images and wish these two so much love and happiness!

Ceremony & Venue: The Western Illinois Youth Camp, Jacksonville, IL When I say Nyki and Dyllan's day at the beautiful Western Illinois Youth Camp in Jacksonville, Illinois was perfect, I couldn't mean it more! Between the mild fall temperatures, the gorgeous decor with pops of turquoise, orange, and terra cotta, and the amazing love the couple showed one another it made the day so relaxing and enjoyable to capture. Nyki & Dyllan's love story began back in junior high school at a dance. A mutual friend thought they would make a cute couple. Instead of the friend simply introducing them, the friend asked the DJ to dedicate a slow song to the pair! So their very first encounter was a school dance where they awkwardly slow danced together. Although sparks, unfortunately, did not fly at that point, luckily for fate, they were reintroduced and became inseparable best friends in high school. Six years later...They were walking hand in hand into marriage! An incredible story! This adorable couple gave me so much precious time before their ceremony to really highlight their laid back and sweet nature together. Plus lots of time with their wonderful bridal party, who kept the energy high and the jokes flying! Their bridal party even included their furbaby, Molly, who I met at their engagement session last fall. My journey with Nyki and Dyllan was one I will never forget! These two have pure hearts, kind souls, and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to capture their memories!

I am an advocate for fun, smooth-running wedding days. Sure, maybe I turn a little *extra* Type A in order to see that happen, but it is totally worth it—especially when a wedding day is as enjoyable as Katie & Matt’s. How do I know this? It poured rain after their ceremony during bride & groom portraits & you would have never known! In fact, I think the rain made it all that much more fun. I loved celebrating this sweet couple. I watched as they shuffled around at their own reception to hand deliver thank you notes to all their vendors. Talk about hearts of gold! Jessi Withers, promotions & event coordinator for BJ Grand Salon & Spa in Springfield, emphasizes the importance of working with your technicians on wedding prep services: Hair: Jessi recommends working with your hairstylist to start a series of deep conditioning treatments a few months before the wedding so your hair is
beautiful, shiny and healthy to carry whatever style you have in mind. “Your stylists can also work with you to perfect your haircolor and chat about the use of extensions to achieve the desired wedding look,” she says. Treatment recommendations: The OYA Elixir Bond & Shine Treatment to reconstruct hair, keep it healthy and restore natural shine. Nails: Address brittle nails, dry cuticles, or nails affected by biting. “Work with your nail tech to make sure nails are healthy and cuticles are maintained,” Jessi says. “Your nail tech can suggest take-home products and in-

Ceremony & Venue: The Stonehouse of St. Charles, MO Zach and Lindsay's day was nothing short of a fairytale. Their gorgeous venue was something right out of a dream wedding: the historic restored stone house features bright and airy bridal quarters, a renovated out building with rustic groom quarters, and last but not least: The breathtaking "Sycamore Hall" where the ceremony and reception both took place. The amazing floor to ceiling windows backlit this model couple as they said their vows, and then we retreated outside for the formal portraits. The reception was full of emotion to say the least. The couple entered the flipped venue in "epic" style, As Epic Entertainment did their signature grand entrance with unique wedding party bios, and the heartfelt love story of how these two college sweethearts came to be. The room was brought to tears, (myself included) as Zach and Lindsay shared their first dance as husband and wife to "It feels like Home" with their own personal vows dropped into the song. This wedding will go down in my book as one of the most perfect weddings I have ever had the opportunity to photograph!

It’s a long-held dream, a sentimental experience, a moment when they first truly feel like a bride. And the process of finding that dress is a key part of wedding planning. Trying on dresses for the first time can be a monumental moment for brides, and Cloud Nine Bridal Boutique owner Jennifer Hitchins believes it should be a wonderful experience that you’ll always remember. “We just love being a part of one of the happiest moments of a bride’s life,” she says. “We want to make sure she is feeling that happiness all throughout the process.” Jennifer purchased the Peoria boutique in December of 2018, but she had worked at Cloud Nine for several years when the previous owner came to her ready to pass the baton. “The owner who opened the store had to go to Chicago for the feel and experience she was wanting,” she says. “Now brides have that big-city feel close to home. When you book an appointment to try on dresses, that time is reserved exclusively for you and your group. “It’s all about listening to the bride, and what her vision is,” Jennifer says. “We really listen to what she has in mind for the wedding and what she’s done so far so we can pick the perfect gown to match her personality and vision.”
“Come in nine to twelve months before your wedding, if possible,” she says. “That way you have enough time to order a dress and complete any alterations needed.” She also says to bring along anyone who will be truly supportive, but try to keep it to four or five people so there aren’t too many conflicting opinions.
“I have a lot of brides say what they end up choosing is not what they had in their mind when they come in,” she says. “Just be open and honest with your consultant about what you’re liking and not liking.”
And most importantly, keep an open mind.

When it comes to budget, Jennifer recommends brides do their research ahead of time. “Make sure there will be more than one gown in the store you go to that is in that price range, otherwise you’ll set yourself up for disappointment,” she says. “And do not try on anything outside your budget.”

THE BRIDAL TREATMENT Above all, Grosenbach says the goal is to look your best on your wedding day - not different. “Whenever we address skin issues, we want to build the structure underneath and then work on the skin above,” she says. “Anti-aging is a top concern for many of our bridal clients.” For youthful skin, she says the focus is on excellent skin care and chemical peels, as well as injectables like Botox and fillers. “Injectables are popular with brides, but I think a lot of people are afraid of them,” she says. “The key is for them not to be noticeable, just to give an improvement to your overall appearance.”
Acne is another common wedding day concern, Grosenbach says. To address it, brides come in for an initial consultation to try to uncover the cause. “It could be something where they need an antibiotic to get it cleared up, and then we work on pigmentation and scarring,” she says. “It’s important to leave plenty of time for us to diagnose and fix the appearance of the skin.” And because most brides are baring their neck and chest in their gowns, Skin Dimensions addresses common problems there too, including acne and fine lines. For the bride on a budget, Grosenbach says to invest in active ingredients and sunscreen. For example, focus on vitamin C to brighten the skin, salicylic acid for acne, and retinol for fine lines and wrinkles. Grosenbach also says one of the main issues she notices with brides is selfdiagnosis. “They might think they have oily or dry skin, and buy products that don’t help their skin,” she says. “That can make the issue worse. We want to make sure they are using proper at-home skin care for their skin type.” Another common problem? Waiting until the wedding week to try a new facial or skin care regimen. “If you’ve never had a facial and you come in a few days before the wedding, your skin could do what’s called a purge, leading to breakouts,” she says.

TIMELINE FOR GLOWING WEDDING DAY SKIN The most important tip for glowing wedding day skin is to start months in advance, Grosenbach says. She recommends coming in six to 12 months in advance to address any concerns. Start with a facial once per month, and use the recommended products to improve your skin over time. As the wedding day approaches, Grosenbach says she focuses on hydration and brightening. “We don’t want to do anything the week of the wedding that will cause the skin to purge or react, so we focus on hydration and brightening with vitamin C,” she says.
“Getting a spray tan doesn’t have to make you look like you just came back from the tropics,” she says. “It can leave you looking natural but just a little better.” Just like with skin care, Grosenbach says, you should get a spray tan ahead of time to make sure you like the color and react well to it. Then, two days before the big day, come in for your wedding day spray tan. “Coming two days in advance means your spray tan has time to develop, but the smell can also dissipate,” she says.
Come in for a facial two days before, and do a microcurrent facial treatment the night before, she recommends.
You should also exfoliate prior for the most even tan possible, and avoid using lotions. After the spray tan, your skin should not get wet for 8 hours. That includes showering, sweating, and being out in the rain or snow.
“Microcurrent deals with dark circles and puffiness, and will help take out bags, puffiness and dark circles,” she says.
Finally, Grosenbach recommends moisturizing as much as possible afterwards to help preserve the spray tan.
