what is zendesk? Over the past several months, the Information Technology staff has been busy rolling out the new Zendesk ticketing system for reporting computer issues. We’ve received quite a few questions regarding the new system, so I’m going to take a few minutes and answer some of them. Q. What is Zendesk? Zendesk is a site that I.T. uses to let us know when a computer user anywhere within our agency is having an issue with their computer. It is done online so that all members of the I.T. staff can be alerted at once. Q. Why do I have to use it? It is helpful both to you as a user and to the I.T. staff. You know when you see one of us running through the halls with cables hanging from our shoulders and a printer in our arms and you ask us to take a look at why your mouse has stopped working and then two hours later, you have not seen or heard from us? That is how it helps. If you enter a ticket in our system, we have a record of you asking us about a problem. Once that printer has been installed, we can check
the Zendesk system and see that you are having issues and we can assist, or another team member may see it first and get help to you sooner. Q. How do I use it? It is pretty simple. Just go to the site, evergreenhs. zendesk.com, and follow the steps of entering your problem. Once you have submitted the issue, you will receive an email asking you confirm that you are not a robot and then the ticket is submitted. Q. What if I don’t get an email from Zendesk? Go back into the system and resubmit your ticket and double check your email address. We have noticed some tickets do not get added to the system because a person entered the wrong email address and the system cannot confirm that you are not a robot. Q. Why don’t you help
by brendan orrange robots? We just simply do not have the time. Q. What if I do not get a response from I.T.? You can go to the Zendesk site and check the status of your ticket. We may have added a note discussing the issue or asking for further information. We may have also not gotten to it yet. We have many computers in several buildings. You can also resubmit the ticket and mention in the comment that you are resubmitting the issue. I hope this clears up some of the questions you may have had in regards to the new Zendesk ticketing system. If there is an issue that you would like to have cleared up, please feel free to send an email to any of your friendly neighborhood IT staff members and we will do our best to answer it for you. C
Summer heat can be more than just uncomfortable; it can be a threat to your health, especially for older adults and children. Whatever your age, don’t let summer heat get the best of you.
Heat Exhaustion Heat exhaustion occurs when a person cannot sweat enough to cool the body, usually the result of not drinking enough fluids during hot weather. It generally develops when a person is playing, working, or exercising outside in extreme heat. Symptoms include dizziness, weakness, nausea, headache, and vomiting. They can also include blurry vision, rise in body temperature, thirst, and difficulty speaking. A person suffering from heat exhaustion must move to a cool place and drink plenty of water.
Heat Stroke Heat stroke is the result of untreated heat exhaustion. Symptoms of heat stroke can include sweating, unawareness of heat and thirst, body temperature rising rapidly to above 101°F, confusion or delirium, and loss of consciousness or seizure. Heat stroke is a serious medical emergency that must be treated quickly by a trained professional. Until help arrives, cool the person down by placing ice on the neck, armpits and groin. If the person is awake and able to swallow, give him or her fluids.
Tips for Staying Cool Drink plenty of water. In hot weather, drink enough to quench your thirst. The average adult needs eight 8 ounce glasses of water a day, and more during heat spells. Dress for the weather. When outside, wear lightweight clothing made of natural fabrics and a well - ventilated hat. Stay inside if possible. Do errands and outside chores early or late in the day. Eat light. Replace heavy or hot meals with lighter, refreshing foods. Think cool! Take a cool shower or apply a cold compress to your pulse points. Or, try spending time indoors at an air-conditioned mall or movie theater.
Remember Feeling thirsty means that your body is already on the road to becoming dehydrated. So don’t wait until you’re thirsty to drink, especially if you are working or playing outside in extreme heat. Information submitted by Human Resources

My autobiography I’m writing when I retire will be, “If It Is to Be, It’ll Happen to Me.” Found in the comedy section of your favorite book store. (Lavine Corp) The title of my autobiography of which I have already sold billions of copies of (in my mind) is “The Awkward Girl Behind the Glasses.” (Jacelyn Lyles) “The Adventures of My Humorous and Not So Humorous Life Experiences”. (Denise Scull) “Life Isn’t a Bowl of Cherries, It’s A Bunch of Bananas”. (Trish Hopkins) “Shevy: Like a Rock”. (Siobohn Fitzgerald-Cushing) “Late Bloomer”. (Susan Fiedler) “Changing Lives”. I can say the changes around us do impact us but for a better change. Each day something new is happening and we are like a chain of command. (Magali Maldonado)

Thank you to everyone who helped with the move!
Evan Greene has been on the move, making the rounds among Evergreen staff. He spent some quality time with Julie Vaughan in CBH, then headed over to see Chris Reybrouck in the Foundation. After that, Evan stopped by to see our hardworking Pharmacy staff. Then Evan finished out the month with another trip to see Julie Vaughan. Congratulations one and all! Keep an eye out; Evan might be on his way to your desk next!

“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” I absolutely love that show! (Charell EllioƩ) “The Cosby Show” (Anthonie King) The Huxtable Family from “The Cosby Show”. (Tayrin Torres) I’m not sure if you would consider them a sitcom because they are a real family but the Duggar family —“19 Kids and CounƟng” even though there is like a bazillion of them, they all adore each other, their love for life and each other, their faith - it’s not fake or put on. They are genuinely happy, peaceful, content, giving, selfless people. These are the people I want to surround myself with. Not selfish, negaƟve, backstabbing, pessimisƟc, grumpy, uncaring, unforgiving people that we someƟmes cross paths with. The world needs more people that love each other. (Nichole Frank) Hands down: The Banks Family “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” (Shannon Bryant) Definitely “Modern Family” specifically with Mitchell and Cam, they are soo funny! (Michelle Santos) The “True Blood” family (Andy Kiener) The Cosby family. Why? They had so much love in their house. And since I have a lot of love to give, I would fit right in. (Lolita Small) Roseanne! (Krista Fenske) For Better or Worse (Cord Stone) My family… wouldn’t change them for the world. It’s a Spanish novel. (Jasiel Guzman)
What’s the One Piece of Advice You Would Give Others About Life? Don’t sweat the small stuff. (Sue Fiedler) I believe you need the guts to never give up, to always keep pushing for a better tomorrow. ( Jasiel Guzman) Don’t lose who you are in the blur of the stars! Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing, It’s okay not to be okay. Sometimes it’s hard to follow your heart. Tears don’t mean you’re losing, everybody’s bruising, Just be true to who you are! (Michelle Santos) To live it and don’t allow it to live you. (Anthonie King) Always find a reason to smile. (Kimberly Brown) Don’t take anything for granted or judge anyone. (Magali Maldonado) Give of yourself selflessly to the world. Treat others as you would like to be treated. With kindness, love and respect. (Lolita Small) Your dreams can become your reality, don’t give up! (Tayrin Torres) Never take life or the people in your life for granted, because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Make sure to tell the ones you care about how much they mean to you, because words left unsaid are often the most regretted. And always pay attention to the signs Life gives you! (Nicole Coonly) Day by day. (Andy Kiener) You are not a victim of your circumstances, rather a survivor. (Krista Fenske) Be open, practice gratitude, and know that you are enough - just as you are. (Shannon Bryant) You were not created to simply exist. You lift others as you climb. And remember there is a reason why the windshield in our car is bigger than the rearview mirror: keep pressing forward no matter the side distraction. (Charell Elliott) If you want to enjoy the rainbow, be prepared to endure the storm. (Cord Stone) We cannot make others responsible for our happiness, nor can we rely on circumstances — new shoes or a purse to make us happy. People often say, “If I could just have a bigger house, then I will be happy,” or “if I could just have that promotion, then I would be happy”. How about, “If I could just find a husband, that’s when I will truly be happy”. Then as soon as we get it, we are on to the next “need” in order to make us happy. We have to rely on ourselves for this job. Happiness is a choice; stop giving others that responsibility. When I see a person who is happy, peaceful and content, despite dire circumstances, that person to me is admirable. The best way to get our minds off ourselves and stop feeling sorry for ourselves or depressed is to start looking to help others. I challenge you to do something good for someone and not feel a happiness that bubbles up from your belly to your heart. People who look to serve others have this glowing contentment that radiates from them. Try it… it could change your entire life. (Nichole Frank) My advice, and I promise it’s excellent advice, is that you shouldn’t ask me for advice about life. (John Carocci)
