I’d have to say Thanksgiving dinner. The food always smells great, and I’m surrounded by my family and friends. — Susan Buck A The fragrance of the sweet olive trees around Jackson Square in New Orleans. — Laura Pasquarella A My favorite smell is cinnamon. — Matthew Sydor A Fresh cut lumber! There is nothing better. — Teresa Lane A The smell of burning wood (bonfire, barbecue). —Emma Hamilton A Campfire! I love when the smell lingers on your hair and clothes. — Lindsay Zasada A This is weird, but ever since Eden was born, I’m obsessed with smelling her feet. Can’t Wait? Dial 8888! by Jakob Willoughby
The Facilities team spends a lot of time on the go. Taking care of issues around the Evergreen campus in a timely fashion involves moving — office-to-office, floor-to-floor, or even site-to-site. This means we’re often away from our desks, and if a facilities-related emergency comes up while we’re out in the field, it may be difficult to notify us immediately. This in turn slows down our ability to respond to situations where every second may be critical. Our friends in IT have created a direct emergency phone extension (EPE) that rings at all of our desks along with select team members’ cell phones. Everyone’s definition of exactly what constitutes an emergency may vary, but the EPE is designed to be used only in situations that require an immediate response. Matters of safety or security, water line breaks, or electrical disturbances qualify. Please continue
to submit a regular ticket for your normal facilities needs. But if it can’t wait, dial 8888! Speaking of tickets, our IT pals have graciously included us in the development of our new shared ticketing system. Many forms that were previously stored on the F: drive have been added to our new system, under the “All Forms” tab in the drop down menus. These include move requests, employee transfers, and new hire requests, and more will be added soon. This is especially important now that all transfers and title changes are set to go through on the twenty-second of each month. Utilizing the new system as soon as you can will help us react quicker to transitions, and give us the ability to plan and prioritize our operational flow. Anyone in IT or Facilities should be able to answer any questions that may arise in this changeover. Connections

Outside, the skies were gloomy, but inside it was all sunshine and smiles at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Evergreen Lofts. Staff and visitors alike were amazed at the dramatic transformation of a gritty industrial building into comfortable, attractive housing for our clients.
