Minnesota Based Musician Spotlights Creeping Charlie

After seeing Creeping Charlie live many times, I can confdently say that they are a force to be reckoned with. Just like the ivy they’re named after, these fantastic group of musicians will stick with you long after your frst listen.

After swiftly taking the title as one of the Best New Bands of 2022, decided by First Avenue and the Current, they have headlined show after show here in Minneapolis, as well as having a residency at Amsterdam Bar and Hall. Currently, they are preparing for a busy summer full of shows. Along with opening for other artists, with each show they play, the bigger audience they accumulate.

The band consists of Julia Eubanks, the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter; Esmé Eubanks, bassist; Jack Malone, drums; and Harry Miles, guitar.

Together they are “making music for cool older sisters” as described by Julia. They have released 1 EP, 2 singles, and 1 album. Their frst release was

Asymmetrical in May of 2020, followed by their two singles in 2021, leading to their most recent album: How to Kill Creeping Charlie. Imagine if Patti Smith’s ‘Horses’ combined with Mazzy Stars’ ‘So Tonight That I Might See’, that combination is ‘How to Kill Creeping Charlie’. With their music being available on all streaming platforms, it’s a must to check them out! There is also a new album growing (but you didn’t hear that from me)… While listening, you may learn some gardening skills along the way.
