Run-Off Explained

he/she must secure over 50 percent of the total votes cast. Because Cost secured 347 votes which was only 47 percent, a run-off is necessary and will be held Oct. 9. Cost will run against Ben McCrory, incumbent mayor who had 254 votes which was 34 percent.

When asked about the upcoming runoff, Cost had this to say,“I am extremely excited about the possibility of becoming the next mayor of the town that I love,” A more in depth story will follow in weeks to come. Check back with us every Monday for more.
