Expect on-ramp closures along Loop 303

MARICOPA COUNTY – As a small token of appreciation for the freedoms afforded to all Americans, Maricopa County’s Parks and Recreation Department will be honoring all veterans with Military Service Appreciation Day on Sunday, November 11. In 2005, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors issued a formal proclamation resolving that each Veterans Day from that point forward would be observed as Military Service Appreciation Day at all Maricopa County Parks. Arizona flu season off to a fast start; health officials push flu shots BY RENATA CLÓ CRONKITE NEWS

WASHINGTON – Three weeks into this flu season, the Arizona Department of Health Services already had confirmed 96 cases, slightly above last year’s numbers but close to three times the number of confirmed cases at this point in a typical year. “We are seeing some similar case numbers, maybe even a little bit of an increase from what we saw from the previous year,” said Eugene Livar, interim chief of

PHOENIX – Drivers who use the Loop 303 north of Interstate 10 should expect a series of onramp closures during daytime hours on weekdays through November 15. The closures are necessary as the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) continues work on a project to improve safety and traffic flow on Loop 303 between I-10 and Northern Avenue. ADOT advises drivers to use

an alternate ramp to access Loop 303 while the following on-ramp closures are in place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.: • Thursday, Nov. 8: Northbound Glendale Avenue • Friday, Nov. 9: Northbound Thomas Road and southbound Indian School Road • Tuesday, Nov. 13:
