EPA awards Arizona $30.8 million for drinking water and wastewater projects SAN FRANCISCO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded more than $30.8 million to Arizona for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure improvements. “These funds will be used for numerous local projects that will boost the economy while improving water systems,” said EPA Pacific Southwest Regional Administrator Mike Stoker. “EPA is committed to investing in local infrastructure to benefit the communities we serve.” EPA awarded more than
$30.8 million to Arizona’s clean water and drinking water State Revolving Fund programs. These federal funds are supplemented with state funding sources, which together provide low-interest loans for wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects. As money is repaid to the revolving loan fund, Arizona funds new infrastructure projects. “These infrastructure improvements will directly

PHOENIX – Winter has officially arrived in Arizona with snow blanketing the high country and a cold snap bringing freezing conditions to Phoenix and other areas across the state last week, and according to weather forecasts the snow is expected to stay a while. On December 28, nearly 10-inches of snow fell in parts of Flagstaff, two-inches in Williams, about three-inches in Show Low. Also, areas across Southeast Arizona saw up to three-inches of snow fall last weekend near Tucson. A freeze warning remained in affect across southern
