CAVE CREEK – A 40-yearold Scottsdale woman was rescued from a hole that was 20-feet deep by deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff ’s Office (MCSO) and crews from the Rural Metro Fire Department (RMFD) on the evening of March 31, in the Spur Cross Conservation Area. Alicia Judy was jogging long distance in the wilderness area near Cave Creek when she became lost as it started to get dark on Sunday. Judy was able to call her father from her

While she attempted to find her way out of the desert to rescue crews that were searching for her, she went off-trail, falling into a hole and becoming trapped, according to first responders. The hole could potentially be an abandoned mine shaft, but it was not confirmed at the time
