CAVE CREEK – A 40-yearold Scottsdale woman was rescued from a hole that was 20-feet deep by deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff ’s Office (MCSO) and crews from the Rural Metro Fire Department (RMFD) on the evening of March 31, in the Spur Cross Conservation Area.

While she attempted to find her way out of the desert to rescue crews that were searching for her, she went off-trail, falling into a hole and becoming trapped, according to first responders.

Proposed subdivision that straddles New River near west Anthem scrutinized by community for safety issues, fears of flooding

ANTHEM – The developers of Riverview, which is a proposed housing development straddling New River on a Phoenix-annexed parcel of private land near west Anthem, announced last week that it will present information to a City of Phoenix committee on April 9, to begin its pursuit in rezoning a portion of the parcel to make way for 170 new homes.

If the rezoning request submitted by El Dorado Holdings is approved, the requested 55.25-acres located near 43rd Avenue and Circle Mountain Road will go from low-density farming residential (S-1) land, to single family residential (R1-6), with a density of three homes per acre. The Scottsdale based developer has promised to preserve the remaining 104.75-acres of the parcel, which is mostly located in a floodplain.

Neighboring residents that attended the community meeting at Canyon Springs Elementary on March 25, claimed the development would cause safety issues for the community, obstruct views and mooch Anthem’s amenities that residents pay for with homeowner association (HOA) fees.

Flooding The biggest concern of the evening was about potential flooding in west Anthem because part of the subdivision will be built in the New River wash, which could displace water downstream.

However, El Dorado Holdings claims that the subdivision is engineered to withstand a 500-year flood event.

Also, federal approval will need to be obtained before they can begin to build in the floodplain, ultimately assuring the community that there will be no flood risk caused from Riverview.

Ed Bull, who represented El Dorado Holdings and facilitated the meeting last week, told residents there are only 13-acres of the development located in the New River wash, and the floodway would be revised with the approval of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in what is known as a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR).

“The foundation is being set at about the 500-year floodplain, and they won’t have to pay for flood insurance if approved ultimately by FEMA once mitigations occur and we submit a LOMR,” Bull said at the meeting.

However, despite the posters, graphs and experts on hand assuring residents that the development would not increase the floodplain and have no impact to the

wash, residents – especially west-side Anthem residents present at the meeting – were still disapproving of Riverview.

“I feel really sorry for the people you build homes for that will lose everything when the floods come wash it away,” Deborah Harper said, an Anthem resident who lives in Arroyo Grande, which borders the southwest side of the Riverview property. “This wash gets running devastatingly, and you’re going to build 170 homes and that’s really sad.”

She went on to say that in the last 10 years she has already seen flood waters crest the 10-foot retaining wall between the Riverview property and west Anthem, so it is hard for her to believe that new and existing homes won’t be affected when the next big flood happens.

“The volume of water has to go somewhere,” Harper said passionately.

“Ultimately you’re changing the natural flow.”

But a Riverview engineer explained that the developer owns both sides of New river on the north and south boundary of the parcel, with the natural flow of the river being the west bank, which is the portion being undeveloped. The part of the wash that Riverview will be built on is not the main channel of the river and is very shallow.

“We expect for there to be a small increase – not in feet – maybe two to three-tenth-inches maximum.

The natural tendency for the floodplain is to move that way,” the engineer said as he pointed to the west corner of the Riverview property away from existing homes, insisting that it would not increase the downstream flow of the river.

But it wasn’t just flooding that the community was upset about.

Traffic Another contentious topic discussed by residents at the meeting was traffic impacts, especially due to the location of the potential development, which is essentially landlocked and only accessible by 43rd Avenue.

Residents were concerned that the 170 new homes would bring traffic issues to the neighborhood and said it would be especially compounded because Caurus Academy will be opening a new campus next fall on the southeast corner of 43rd Avenue and Circle Mountain Road.

“That’s 500 additional cars going down 43rd Avenue,” said one resident about how the school is a charter without busses and every student attending will be driving or getting dropped off.

“Which you guys didn’t even know about until recently!”

The developer has conducted a traffic impact assessment (TIA) for the area that did include an additional 585 students driving on 43rd Avenue for school, but it was not shared at the meeting.

At the time this was written, The Foothills Focus had still not received a copy of the TIA that was requested. The developers said that they were revising the TIA based on the public input from the meeting.

Many other residents expressed concerns about emergency vehicles limited accessibility entering and exiting the area too, especially because Riverview is landlocked by the I-17 and a one-way Frontage Road on its east border.

Fire and law enforcement The community was also upset that residents living in Riverview would not be paying their fair share for emergency services provided by the Daisy Mountain Fire District, which is funded by local property taxes.

“We have a line item on our taxes and its nothing to sneeze at,” said one resident. “We’re funding the fire support for this community [Riverview].”

Because Riverview is on property annexed into the City of Phoenix, those residents will pay Phoenix property taxes that don’t contribute to Daisy Mountain Fire District. However, since Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical is the closest fire department to the subdivision it will

likely be dispatched to the Riverview due to Maricopa County’s mutual aid response procedures.

“So, what happens when my house catches fire and Daisy Mountain is over there putting another one out!” said an upset woman. “Now your taking away from services we pay for.”

Bull responded by telling residents that Phoenix has a new fire station potentially planned to increase emergency services to the North Valley, and that the fire departments are in constant communication. Also, that the Maricopa County Sheriff ’s Office Black Mountain Precinct Commander Tom Van Dorn did not believe that Riverview would negatively impact response times for the area.

"I'm not the judge of what is fair and what is not fair," Bull said. "But it is a common procedure [mutual aid response] and overall, from a fiscal perspective, it does work well."

Other concerns were that response times for law enforcement and fire would become increasingly slower due to continued, unchecked population growth in the rural area.

She has a purpose. A talent, and a God-given gift that she has graciously shared with sick children.

Her name is Dorothy Crane, she is a 96-years-young resident of Black Canyon City who makes collage books out of construction paper and cutout pictures from magazines, creating uplifting and beautiful picture books.

Dorothy’s mission is to bring smiles and comfort to suffering children and every day she makes little works of art, punching holes, tying ribbon, arranging and pasting pictures in a true labor of love.

It is said, “life without a purpose, is no life at all.”

Purpose is not restricted by age, health, wealth or circumstance.

It is the inner drive to forge ahead, make a difference, know that our efforts matter and that our journey is better when we have a goal.

My mother died last December at the age of 97. Her last few years were difficult as she moved out of the family home into assisted living.

Her health failed her, yet one of her missions at the nursing home was to improve the food by “teaching” the cooking staff to cook.

She helped them with menu planning, shared recipes and every Tuesday held a cooking class for all the residents (and staff). At age 96, she revised her cookbook that she had written years before. She baked

Dorothy Crane is a role-model for each of us. Her husband of 64 years passed away many years ago and to work through her grief, she poured her heart into craft projects. The one project that dominated her time and became a core purpose, was the collage books.

When 30 books are completed, Dorothy boxes them up and sends them to a children’s hospital on her list of 20.

So how many books has Dorothy made? A whopping 10,000 books have been lovingly created, sent and received! Every box that is sent brings hope, joy and encouragement to an ill child.

Her box of 30 books was sent in November 2018, to New Orleans Children’s Hospital and they were the lucky recipient of her 10,000th book.

What a legacy!

Boxes of 30 collage books are sent to 20 hospitals in five states.

How is this possible?

Neighbors and friends in Black Canyon City take magazines, paper, glue and other supplies to Dorothy Crane. Often these helpful folks take the boxes to the post office and pay

for the postage.

One lady inspires a whole town to spring to action. And we are all better because of it.

A couple of the hospitals that receive these books in Arizona are John C. Lincoln and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Today a child is in a hospital room, perhaps frightened and in need of comfort. And today, a sick child will receive a happy, hand-made book of pictures of kittens, doggies, rabbits, unicorns, sunsets, princesses . . . and many more images that are joyful reminders of a wonderful world.

By 10:53 p.m. MCSO located the woman hearing her calls for help from inside the hole. RMFD was called for assistance in a rope rescue at about midnight.

“Additionally, a rattlesnake was heard in the mine shaft, but it was unknown where the snake was,” Gilleland said.

Judy did not sustain serious injuries and was treated on the scene by medics for minor injuries.

CAREFREE – Calling all photographers! The Town of Carefree is holding its annual Carefree Desert Gardens Photo Contest, with submissions being accepted in several location throughout the Town.

Entries vie for the popular “Peoples’ Choice Award” as voted by the public, which will be presented in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion on Friday, May 10, in conjunction with National Public Gardens Day. “The Carefree Desert Gardens present a wide array of spectacular photographic opportunities,” shared Mayor Les Peterson.

Images must be taken within the Carefree Desert Gardens in the Carefree Town Center, with no time constraints on

Photographers are limited to a maximum of three image entries, and all entries must be received no later than Friday, April 26.

Submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel, and 12 images will be selected to compete for the “Peoples’ Choice,” with voting taking place at the Desert Foothills Library from April 27–May 5.

CAVE CREEK – Ken Zoll presents, “Meteorites Among the Ancient People of Central Arizona,” on April 10, with the Desert Foothills Chapter of the Arizona Archaeology Society (DFC-AAS).

The occurrence of meteorites on archaeological sites in North America has been known since the early 19th century. From the Hopewell culture in the eastern United States to the Indians in the American Southwest and northern Mexico, meteorites have been found on these ancient sites.

Much like meteorite hunters of today, ancient Native American cultures actively engaged in meteorite collecting.

Several meteorite fragments from Meteor Crater near Flagstaff have been discovered at ancient dwellings in Central Arizona.

This presentation describes these meteorite locations and how they are associated with Meteor Crater. Also, how one of the meteorites, using radiocarbon dating, established its location within a ruin and confirmed the date of the ruin’s destruction.

Zoll is the executive director of the Verde Valley Archaeology Center in Camp Verde, Ariz. He is also the regional coordinator for the site steward program with the Arizona State Parks and Trails, and a volunteer docent at cultural heritage sites in the Coconino National Forest.

He has conducted extensive fieldwork in ancient astronomical practices of the Southwest and is a certified instructor in ancient astronomy fieldwork.

Zoll is the author of several books on local ancient rock art and astronomical practices, as well as several articles in professional journals on his studies. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees

from Loyola University Chicago and retired to Sedona in 2004, after 35 years of Federal service.

The public may attend an DFC-AAS meeting at no charge, meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May. There are refreshments available at 7 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7:30 p.m., usually ending prior to 9 p.m.

soil it can lay root into is called Globe Chamomile or Oncosiphon piluliferum.

It is also commonly referred to as Stinknet due to its strong, vile odor that emanates from the lacey looking leaves, and unfortunately its smell isn’t the only awful thing about it.

Stinknet is considered a prolific, fast moving invasive plant by Maricopa County and it has heavily infested the Sonoran Desert Foothills area. The bulbous flower has dominated the landscape outcompeting native plants in the open desert, causing people to have allergic reactions from its leaves and abundant pollen and it is resistant to most commercial herbicides.

Stinknet was first noticed in the Spur Cross Conservation Area in 2005, by 2008 the plant had become profuse. It spread from initial infestations in North and Northwest Phoenix into the metropolitan area and is now spreading to Southern Arizona, according to Maricopa County Parks Ranger Kevin Smith.

"A lot of people don't realize it is not native so they don't pull it because they think it is pretty," Ranger Smith said, while he stands surrounded by Stinknet as far as the eye can see in the Spur Cross.

"I don't think the problem is going away."

The plant was first identified in Maricopa County in the 1990s, by 2005 it had proliferated along the Interstate 17 near the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, Cave Creek, New River and parts of the Tonto National Forest, according The Arizona Native Plant Society (ANPS).

“The infestation of the Ben Avery Facility provided a perfect storm for infestation in Maricopa County. It was allowed to bulk up unimpeded for over 15 years,” Arizona Native Plant Society Conservation Committee Chairman

The plant sprouts around late November, flower beginning in January, then quickly go to seed by early February going through up to three generations from November to April. In wet years, seed dispersion can continue into late May, experts say.

“If infestations are allowed to propagate over the course of several seasons, they will form dense stands with prolific seed production,” stated Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department in a brochure it released about Stinknet.

The prodigious plant and seed production combined with how easily the lightweight seeds can be spread by wind and vehicle traffic makes the Phoenix Valley rife for globe chamomile infestation, according to ANPS. This year’s winter rains caused a superbloom, and the Stinknet was no exception, causing major infestations all over the North Valley, according to Jamie Schmitt, the owner of the local landscaping company, Jamieson Greens.

Schmitt says the other major problem in the battle against Stinknet is that typical herbicides don’t work – Glyphosate is not match for this flowering foe.

"Roundup does not work! You can spray it on the plant and everything around it will be dead and the Globe Chamomile is just fine." Schmitt said.

The landscaping company has a client that lives on top of Black Mountain in the Desert Hills area and Schmitt says the entire hill "is just infected." So he and his crews spent the whole day mowing the Globe Chamomile down on the property in an attempt to stop its propagation.

However below the property line is still a blanket of yellow, stinky flowers.

"You can't not see it," he said. "It's just crazy."

Scmitt's advice to the residents that did not pull up the Globe Chamomile before it flowered and are now battling the Stinknet assault is to mow down or trim the plants, removing the flowers and its seeds.

Other removal methods that are recommended by Maricopa County are using the herbicides Trichlopyr or Garlon, or using Glyphosate with a surfactant like Hasten.

"I know it sounds horrible, but the best way to get rid of it is physical labor," Schmitt said. "And try to get at it before it has flowered."

Cave Creek residents asking community to Walk 4 Water this weekend

CAVE CREEK – Not having access to clean, potable water is the harsh reality for over half of Uganda’s population, with thousands of children dying every year from avoidable illnesses contracted by drinking contaminated water, which is why a local Cave Creek resident is asking people to “Walk 4 Water” with her on April 6.

Peggy O’ Rourke, is a Chairman and Ambassador for Water 4 Kids International, a global non-profit organization that raises money to drill deep-water wells and install filtration devices for communities in impoverished countries, helping the millions of people access clean water.

This is her third year organizing the local Walk 4 Water event and fundraiser, which has succeeded in raising enough donations to drill a total of four wells; two wells for every year the event has taken place.

“The good thing about our wells are that they are good for 30 to 50 years,” O’Rourke said.

“Other organizations don’t dig as deep, so they are basically still drinking the same dirty surface water. We go 100-feet down into the aquifer.”

In Uganda almost 24 million people do not have access to clean water and over 4,500 children under the age of five die each year from diarrheaillnesses. Men, women and children suffer from Trachomacaused blindness contracted from dirty water, according to WaterAid a global non-profit leading the fight for access to clean water and sanitation.

Peggy and her husband, Brian, who is also a Walk 4 Water co-chair, have a goal to raise $25,000 this year to cover the costs for drilling another two wells for villages in the Luwero District of Uganda. Each well drilled this year will provide safe, potable water for four to five villages, helping almost 10,000 people access the basic essential of life, clean water.

But Walk 4 Water, which is affiliated with the international non-profit Water 4 Kids, doesn’t

just drill the wells and leave, it also continues to work with the locals, ensuring the wells are being maintained properly, and working.

“Water issues have become our passion,” she said. “You see it come full circle. It’s such a blessing to be a blessing.”

The O’Rourkes say they know first-hand that the wells are being maintained and changing lives. That’s because they have visited the Ugandan villages twice. Once in 2017 before the well was drilled, then in 2018 for the dedication of the Kiwogo Village well, which was funded by2018 Cave Creek’s Walk 4 Water event.

“The increase in health affects can be seen almost immediately,” Peggy said of witnessing the overall quality of life change for the better in the village after the well was drilled in 2018.

So far, the local couple has raised over 60 percent of their fundraising goal this year and are on their way to getting another two wells drilled that will be named after their hometown, Cave Creek.

However, the O’ Rourkes say most of the support for Walk 4 Water has come from members of their church that is active in helping Ugandan communities.

But this year they are trying to raise more awareness about Walk4Water by expanding their reach to the surrounding residents and communities.

They are inviting everyone of all ages to join them in a two-mile walk to honor the mothers and young children in Uganda who must travel far distances every day to a contaminated open pond for their daily source of water.

The Walk 4 Water event is on April 6, starting at 8 a.m. at Saddlecreek Coffee Co., 28212 N. Tatum Boulevard, and is the cost is $25 for adults and $15 for ages under 17. Pre-registration is recommended but not required.

Painting as silent poetry

"Her painting is silent poetry," a quote that immediatel comes to mind when viewing local artist Martha Klare's delicately rendered work of Asian Brush painting.

According to Martha there are a number of styles in this form of painting but her work is strongly influenced by the free style method. This style challenges the artist to emphasize the subject's spirit or chi, through abstraction and economy of strokes.

Each piece incorporates negative (unpainted) space giving it a clean, uncluttered look.

"My work represents a fusion of traditional techniques and aesthetic I learned in China and the US, as well as, my ongoing creative discovery of the limitless possibilities this timeless art form indulges," Martha comments.

Martha grew up in Oakton, Va., in a semi-rural area outside of Washington, D.C, Her family's home had acres and acres of woods, fields, a flowing creek and presented limitless opportunities to create your own playground. Or in Martha's case a natural environment art studio.

She spent hours digging clay from the bank of the creek to make sculptures, picking

wildflowers for arrangements and building birdhouses for the local wild bird population.

Her structured artistic influences came from her mother and neighbors who were artists and illustrators for National Geographic, Audubon, and Smithsonian magazines. The opportunity for visits to museums and galleries in D.C. was a regular activity for Martha as well.

When she reached high school she met her first Zen Buddhist teacher in the form of her art teacher. During her college years the study of architecture, landscape and urban design took the forefront.

Her formal study of Asian brush painting began through the University of California, San Diego. It continued with masters and teachers in Southern California, Washington, D.C., and China.

Martha built a successful career as a landscape architect in San Diego and later operated a business, licensing her art to national and international markets as greeting cards, stationery and wall decor.

She eventually moved to Arizona for her husband's career.

Today she works from her home studio in Cave Creek, continuing to push the boundaries of her creativity and Asian brush painting art form.

Martha draws inspiration from a variety of environments from, Arizona, California, and recently Italy on her extended backpacking trips with friends and husband, who is a photographer.

She also enjoys shorter hiking adventures closer to home.

"Asian brush painting is very closely connected to the ancient culture, history and religions of China, Japan and other countries in the far east which honored the rhythm and balance of the natural world," Martha explains. "Even the materials of the art; brushes, paper, ink sticks, and ink stones, are still handmade of natural elements and are viewed as art forms themselves."

The deceivingly simple, yet versatile materials never fail to fascinate Martha.

The fact that for over 2,000 years Asian brush painting continues to renew and expand, while the basic principles and materials have remained relatively unchanged says something for its enduring presence as an art form.

Martha teaches and occasionally exhibits at The Foothills Community Foundation (azfcf.org).

Her next workshop, at The Foothills Community Foundation(FCF), is Asian Brush Painting on Thursday April 11, from 9 a.m.

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Film Festival celebrates its 19th anniversary this week.

Arizona’s largest film festival expanded to 11 days last year and continues the nearly twoweek long celebration with over: 300 movie screenings; the largest happy hour event in the state; educational panels with filmmakers; a special day for kids to learn behind-the-scenes moviemaking skills; and so many opportunities to find your new favorite movie.

The Phoenix Film Festival has created an environment for filmmakers to showcase their unique visions and voices, while maintaining a commitment to Arizona film fans in creating a special experience where they can watch a wide variety of movies.

If you are a cinephile or simply a weekend movie fan, the Phoenix Film Festival is guaranteed to have something for every taste.

The Festival has competition films from independent filmmakers from around the world, both short and feature films, while also featuring films with some of the biggest movie

talents in Hollywood. Edward James Olmos (Windows on the World), Greg Kinnear and Aldis Hodge (Brian Banks), Daisy Ridley (Ophelia), Elle Fanning (Teen Spirit), Burt Reynolds (An Innocent Kiss), and Judi Dench (Red Joan) are just a few of the actors starring in films playing at the festival.

The opening night film is “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile,” it stars Zac Efron as the serial killer, Ted Bundy, and Lily Collins as Bundy's girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer.

The movie concerns the lives of a happy couple in domestic bliss until, out of nowhere, their perfect life is put into a tailspin as Ted (Efron) is accused of a series of grisly murders.

The film is directed by Academy Award Nominated Director Joe Berlinger, who will be in attendance to participate in a Q&A following the film.

Another highlight of the festival is the film “Brian Banks” starring Aldis Hodge in the lead role of the inspirational, true story of an All-American high school football player, but is wrongly convicted of a crime sending him to prison. Years later, Banks tries to reclaim his life and fulfill his dream of

“In Fabric”, directed by Peter Strickland, is a haunting ghost story set against the backdrop of a department store that follows

the life a cursed dress as it torments those who wear it.

“Hole in the Ground” follows a mother and son who encounter a mysterious hole behind their home. Another highlight is “I Trapped the Devil,” a “Twilight Zone” influenced Christmas horror film about a lonely man who believes he has trapped the devil in his basement.

Corporation Commission approves EPCOR's interim water rates, causing increase for Anthem’s east-side

PHOENIX – The Arizona Corporation Commission (AZCC) approved the EPCOR interim water rate case at its meeting last Thursday in a 3-2 decision, increasing water rates for east-side Anthem residents effective April 1, 2019.

The rate hike does not include wastewater and is based on water usage. Typical east-side Anthem customers will see an increase of about 36 percent per billing cycle based on the average use of 7,000 gallons per month using a 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch meter.

Under the new interim rates an average east-side Anthem home will pay about $2.65 more per 1,000 gallons of water used, with the final numbers expected to be released by the AZCC sometime this week. The interim rates will be in effect until the AZCC decides on EPCOR’s permanent rates case that must be filed by May 1, 2020.

"While any increase is unacceptable in our opinion, the final result is better than

the 59 percent increase that Anthem ratepayers were facing just a few months ago," said Kristi Northcutt, Director of Public Affairs for the Anthem Community Council.

She served as an intervener in the case along with Board President Roger Willis.

EPCOR, which is the largest water company in Arizona, will use 2019 as a test year to establish new rates when it files its new permanent rate case in 2020.

If the rates decided in the 2020 case are less than interim rates, customers will be refunded the difference for that time period plus interest, according to a press release from the Anthem Community Council (ACC).

The EPCOR rate case has been ongoing since the private utility company filed an application for interim rates on January 31, 2019, because the AZCC could not come to a majority decision regarding the company’s request to consolidate rates for its 11 districts across the state.

"Regional consolidation holds some promise for our district. So, while our ratepayers must unfortunately endure an increase in this interim period, there does seem to be hope for a better outcome next year," Northcutt said.

According to EPCOR, it needs to invest more than $430 million in the next decade for infrastructure improvement on all its Arizona water systems.

The utility company says it recommended the consolidation because stand-alone rates would cause a net increase in each district.

EPCOR will host a community meeting at the Civic Building in the near future to explain these changes, the impact to Anthem ratepayers, and next steps. The information for the meeting will be posted at OnlineatAnthem. com. Anthem residents were also suspicious that Riverview developers were relying too much on Anthem amenities and services for its future homeowners.

Riverview will have two park areas with grass and playgrounds, but some are skeptical it will not provide enough recreation for the 170 new residences, causing Anthem amenities to be used by people not paying the HOA fees and become overcrowded.

“How do you plan on compensating Anthem Community Council for an overload use of its services?” Anthem resident Ron Jerich asked.

“You have done nothing to facilitate recreation and they will go to Anthem as a result.”

Linda Cheney, the Vice President of El Dorado said that in the beginning they tried annexing Riverview into Anthem so it could become a part of the HOA, but Anthem declined.

“We’re still open to annex into the Anthem HOA, but not if they are just going to tell us no,” Cheney said.

However, Anthem says it has never been approached about annexing Riverview into Anthem, and they are not interested either.

“The ACC is very concerned about the negative impacts that adding 170 homes at this location will have on west-side traffic flow and circulation, public safety response times, and other quality of life issues,” Anthem’s Community Executive Officer Neal Shearer said.

“If such concerns are not adequately addressed by the developer or the City of Phoenix, the ACC will actively oppose the Riverview rezoning case."

Timeline of events The next steps in the planning and approval process for Riverview are: •

April 9, at 6 p.m. is an informational meeting only for the Phoenix Rio Vista Village Planning Committee at the Goelet A.C. Beuf Community Center, 3435 West Pinnacle Peak Road (agenda subject to change) regarding the request to rezone.

May 14, at 6 p.m.

El Dorado Holdings will ask the Rio Vista Village Planning Committee for a recommendation to rezone at the Goelet A.C. Beuf Community Center, 3435 West Pinnacle Peak Road (agenda subject to change).

•

June 6, The El Dorado rezoning request for Riverview will go to the City of Phoenix Planning Commission for action. If the commission approves the rezoning request it will move forward for final approval (dates/agenda subject to change).

July 3, The Phoenix City Council will decide to whether or not to give final approval for the rezoning request (dates/agenda subject to change).
