DVUSD override, DMFD bond approved by voters NORTH VALLEY – Deer Valley Unified School District’s Maintenance & Operations override was an extremely close election, but it has passed with a narrow margin. As early ballots were counted, the override swung from not passing to passing by just over 300 votes. Daisy Mountain Fire Department’s requested bond passed with a wide majority of support. Over 65 percent of voters voted yes on the bond. The funds will be used to purchase new water tanker trucks for firefighting in areas without fire hydrants and for
building a new station in the Desert Hills area to replace the current station that has major structural damage. The Maricopa County Recorder’s election results show the Cave Creek Unified School District’s requested Maintenance & Operations override as failing with voters in the Nov. 3 election. About 55 percent of the district voters voted against the override. Follow election results and get information on polling places, registering to vote, and getting on the permanent early ballot list at recorder.maricopa.gov.
