YCSO arrests suspect in Black Canyon City burglary BLACK CANYON CITY – Last August, someone broke into the Black Canyon Community Health Center in Black Canyon City and stole cash and a portable safe. Yavapai County Sheriff ’s Office detectives have been investigating the burglary and have now arrested a suspect. According to a report from YCSO, over the last several weeks, a YCSO detective developed information identifying a suspect in this burglary case. When the detective began tracing forged checks that were stolen from the clinic to the Phoenix area, the leads identified additional
suspects, including 47-yearold Joseph Onello from Black Canyon City. It was discovered Onello had supplied Health Center checks that were kept in the safe stolen during the September burglary. The total amount of money involved in check forgeries already exceeded $11,000. Detectives also located a witness who described seeing a suspicious man with a red off-road style motorcycle in the clinic parking lot around 5 a.m. on a day prior to the burglary.
