ANTHEM – Sharing the blessings of Christmas keeps the season’s magic alive year after year, and Shannon Everett and her family have found a way to share the joy of the season. For the fourth year in a row, Everett is running the Christmas Angel Adventure for the kids of Canyon Springs School. Seven hardworking, deserving kids are nominated by a team at the school, and from there, the adventure begins. Giving back: Local teen collecting supplies for Child Crisis Arizona ELIZABETH MEDORA STAFF
CAVE CREEK – At just 13 years old, Cave Creek resident Jessica Brashear is already helping make the community around her a kinder, more caring place. This month, Jessica is running a supply drive for Child Crisis Arizona, collecting items for kids who are going through difficult times and are in great need. As co-president of Kids Care Club in Cave Creek, Jessica works with GenerationOn, which helps kids improve their community. “By being a part of this club, I was able to find another
opportunity as Kindness Ambassador that would allow me to help even more people,” Jessica said in an email interview. “The Joy Maker Challenge is a project, from the GenerationOn company, that allows other kids and teens to spread kindness throughout the community and create a project that will make the holidays this year great for many people.” Hasbro Toys sponsors the Joy Maker Challenge, and Jessica noted that Hasbro has given over 100 toys to every Kindness Ambassador to donate to others Heidi Brashear photo
