Spectrum Retirement facility design approved by ACC Board ELIZABETH MEDORA STAFF

ANTHEM – Construction on the new Spectrum Retirement Community facility on Venture Drive may begin as early as fall 2015. The Anthem Community Council Board of Directors approved the architectural design of the Spectrum facility at a Feb. 25 meeting. In the Board meeting summary notes, it was noted that, “The Board’s decision to approve the architectural design for the proposed facility on Venture Dr. marked the final step of the Council’s consideration for the project to advance.” The planned facility’s design is now under review by Maricopa County. “We have submitted and are awaiting approval,” said

Council approves waterline repair expenditures TARA ALATORRE STAFF

CAVE CREEK – The Cave Creek Town Council unanimously agreed to approve over half a million dollars in expenditures for waterline improvements at their March 3 meeting, which will fix 50 percent of the town’s main waterline leaks that are contributing to major malfunctions identified in the municipal water utility system. The $514,654 in expenditures were funded by the budget and part of a larger effort by

10,000-15,000 sq. ft., with twostory and three-story sections. The two-story section will house the assisted living and memory care wings, and the threestory section will house the independent living wing.

The beginning of construction now depends on the needed county approvals. If all goes as planned, construction will begin in the fourth quarter of 2015. The ACC Board noted in their meeting summary

Additionally, if any significant changes emerge from the Maricopa County approval process, they must also be brought back before the Council.” The Board’s notes concluded with a commendation to Spectrum for “working to address final design details prior to the approval vote.” Spectrum plans to take resident reservations by the end of this year. “We will start taking reservations Q4 2015 and welcoming residents in 2017,” noted MacDonald.
