As I gaze towards the class, their mouths speak the words at the same time. Here I am looking at the letters like scrambled puzzle pieces, not knowing how to put them in the frontal lobe of my brain.

Solving the puzzle will make my life easy. Struggles are always with me in every situation. What my classmates see in the book cannot be recognized by my eyes and mind. The letters are normal but in my vision they are blurry. I should not be like this forever. I need to help myself so I started highlighting the important details of what I’m reading. I also browse reading materials on social media to improve little by little. Reading is not an overnight process. There are always challenges while I am meeting different letters and symbols that serve as my friends.

Solving puzzle pieces: From parcel of struggles to pieces of success

While I am holding my reading notebook, I can see a stair where I am at the lowest step while my classmates are at the way and still stepping for the top. I cannot move my feet, I am left behind. As I grow, I cannot just always look at others who can read, and be jealous. I sometimes struggle to understand the word. My mind screamed, “I should work for myself as my classmates do. I will look for the missing pieces and unlock the door with the key of success.”

Solving puzzle pieces: Each reading piece is special the reading puzzle. It is possible that I will complete them. As days pass by, I am able to form it little by little. My eyes were hurt but it will surely be worth it because I will make something very important. I just read everyday. I decided to conquer my difficulties. I am Kayla Irene Navarro. I am proud to say that I am now a reader. I completed the puzzle and am on the way to improving because it is endless. We improve each day, it is unstoppable. I adjusted my reading time. Being non- non-reader is very difficult, it is like I do not know anything. Despite these hurdles, nothing is impossible. I did not look at the achievements of others. Myself is my rival.

It is I, only I who can solve what I started. I’ve just realized that the puzzle is really hard to finish. There are a lot of processes. It needs critical thinking, skills, and abilities. To form it and see the meaning of every part of it is important. If one piece is missing, find it, you will never learn if something is missing from you. The best feeling is where we are able to use what we work hard for.

I became victorious after completing the puzzle pieces of my reading journey. I glanced at my reading notebook. It reminded me of the wonders of reading. Good job, self! I am now looking at the letters like beautiful destinations of my future.
