After a long few years trying to navigate through the pandemic, what better way to let off some steam then enjoying all the winter activities Fernie has to offer.

When you arrive to town, staff at the Fernie Visitor Information Centre will be available to help answer any of your questions or give recommendations. The Fernie Visitor Information Centre is the hub for “all things Fernie” where you will find information about the local area, the Kootenays, and BC. Our local information counselors want to share with you all the Fernie need-to-knows: cross country and snowshoeing trails, maps, the places to eat, the cultural gems, souvenirs, and much more. Open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm (and Saturdays when the ski hill is open!). There is so much more to do in Fernie in the winter besides skiing. Griz Days is Fernie’s annual winter heritage festival held on the first weekend of March. Commencing its 45th year, Griz Days is a multi-day festival of fun-filled family-friendly events, activities, fundraising and entertainment. Griz Days has become a highlight of the annual Fernie calendar and draws visitors who are not necessarily here to ski – but to experience arts, culture, dining and retail. Speaking of arts, culture, dining and retail, Fernie’s Historical Downtown is your one spot stop! The abundance of local art galleries, restaurants, shops, and historic buildings make it a MUST when visiting Fernie.
