Note from the Coach Looking ahead
e have many new faces that have joined our Ghostriders family. Jeff Wagner - Head Coach/ General Manager, Justin Peers - Assistant Coach, Jered Neufeld - Assistant Coach, Brandy Craverio - Athletic Therapist and Jon Levesque - Board Member along some new volunteers. On behalf of myself and the members of the board welcome to our Ghostriders family and we are looking forward to our 2018-2019 season. The hard work and dedication of our volunteers has provided our organization with a foundation rich in team play, commitment and integrity. Along with the commitment are the billet families who graciously invite the young men into their homes and have them as part of their family. We also are fortunate to have so many dedicated community members; sponsors and City of Fernie employees and council who are committed to seeing the team remain successful behind the scene. MEET THE NEW 2018/2019 COACHING STAFF Jeff Wagner Head Coach/GM Fernie Ghostriders
F
ernie Ghostriders head into the 2018/19 season with a new coaching staff. Jeff Wagner is entering his first year as the Fernie Ghostriders Head Coach and General Manager, after joining the team from the Creston Valley Thunder Cats. In his two years with Creston, he assisted in leading the team to a combined regular season record of 68-21-3-2 in 94 games, which included back to back seasons where the Thunder Cats recorded the most goals in the KIJHL. In the 2016-17 the team won the Bronze Medal at the Cyclone Taylor Cup following a record setting regular season. Prior to joining the Thunder Cats, Wagner coached for six years in Calgary splitting his time between the Calgary Northstars and Calgary Buffaloes Associations. During this time, he attended Mount Royal University where he obtained a Bachelor of Business & Entrepreneurship in Sports and Recreation. Over his eight year coaching career, Wagner has helped advance 28 players to full time Junior A hockey careers and 20 players to college/university hockey. Wagner also added two assistant coaches in the off-season as well.

Justin Peers
Neufeld joins the team following a playing career that saw him play for the Briercrest Clippers in the ACAC, as well as experience as a coach with the Red Deer Vipers in the Heritage Junior Hockey League. He most recently was the Assistant GM and Coach of the Esterhazy Flyers Senior Hockey Team of the Triangle Hockey League for the past two seasons.
Peers joins the team following a three year playing career with the Fernie Ghostriders. In 124 career KIJHL games, Peers scored 60 goals and added 80 assists. He also added 17 points in 19 career post season games.

Starting October 24 to January 31 and according to the Ghostrider schedule, Ghostrider players will visit local elementary school classes to spend time reading, answering questions, signing autographs and playing floor hockey. The Ghostriders will present each student with a game ticket to an upcoming Ghostrider hockey game.
