First, you’ll need an account! This will allow you to keep track of your orders, plus billing and delivery information. Here’s the form you’ll use to sign up.
Now that you have an account, you’re ready to
start shopping!
When opening the site, you will be greeted with the following pop-up:
or prepared Here, you’ll choose if you want your groceries delivered for curbside pickup . You can also start building a shopping list . Shopping options are located at the top of the page. You’ll see “Curbside Pickup” or “Delivery,” the store location or your ZIP code and the next available time slot or delivery wait time.
Need a different location? Just click the location to receive the following message! This will allow you to choose stores close by or search for a specific location. You can even select “Show Map” to see your nearest stores on a map.
Want your groceries delivered? Remember to check that the address is correct! You can use your current address or add a new one.
You can shop by departments or featured homepage items. To add items to your cart, click on the item and select the “Add to Cart” option.
Pay attention to quantities and how an item is sold. If it’s sold by the pound, you’ll need to select an amount. Expect a hold on your card for a larger amount to allow for slight variations in weight and substitutions. If sold by each, add the item to your cart, then click the “plus” symbol to add one more quantity or the “minus” symbol to remove one quantity.

Can’t find an item? Try searching for keywords in the search bar. Sometimes searching for “Chicken” instead of “Grilled Fresh Marinated Chicken Breast” can help you find those specific items faster.

Your shopper will contact you to ask about what alternative options you’d like to choose from. Check these boxes if you would like to allow substitutions.
Sometimes you may want your item shopped a specific way. At any point, you can view your cart on the right side of the screen and see your products. From there, underneath the products, you can select to “Add a Note.” For example, you can ask for greener bananas or ask for a specific replacement item.

Once you’re done shopping, simply select “Checkout” when viewing your cart on the right side of the screen. You can also click the basket icon with the order subtotal to proceed to checkout.
Once you select “Checkout,” you can view your entire cart to ensure quantities and substitution options are correct. On the right side, you’ll also see your order method (delivery or curbside pickup) and the available timeslot or estimated wait time. If your order contains alcohol, expect to enter in your birthday and verify your age. You’ll also be required to provide ID during curbside pickup.
Select “Checkout” once more to give any delivery instructions, select a day and time, ensure the delivery address and contact information are correct and choose a payment method. It’s a good idea to take one more look at all the changes and ensure everything is accurate. Once everything has been selected, place your order. You’re all set!
Need to change your payment method? You can quickly do so during checkout! Remember that you can only change payment here and not after an order has already been placed. If you’ve placed an order before, your card will be saved for checkout. Your card can also be removed at any time.
You can even use special instructions to help our delivery drivers in case your entrance is hard to find. During checkout, you’ll see an option to add delivery instructions.
After adding any instructions and replacements, all you need to do is place the order!
After that, your shopper will begin shopping soon and will notify you of any changes or questions to your order. This also allows you to message your shopper in case you need to add an item you forgot, but this can only be done before the employee begins checkout.
When it’s time to pick up your order, park in the designated curbside pickup parking spots at your store. Either click the link sent to you or call the number on the sign to have your order brought out to you! You will also be notified when your order is being brought out to your car.
Have any issues with your order? Let us know! After your order is picked up or delivered, you’ll receive an email and text with a link asking you to review your order. From here, select “Report an Issue” and describe the problem. You can also select what you would like Instacart to do about the order and select items with specific issues. Afterwards, hit “Submit Issue” to finish. This link will also allow you to rate your order between 1 and 5 stars.
FAQ
What if my order is ready early? If your order is ready early, great news! It can be picked up earlier than scheduled (but doesn’t have to be). Either way, we’ll make sure to keep your hot items hot and cold items cold. No melted ice cream on our watch!
I ordered a product but didn’t get the sale price, why? An item’s sale price is only valid the day it’s paid for and ordered, not when it’s picked up or received. For example, if chicken is $2.99 per pound on Tuesday, then it needs to be ordered on Tuesday to have that price. If the order for the chicken is placed on a different day for pickup on Tuesday, it will not have the Tuesday sale price.
I need a refund for my order, who do I talk to? If problems arise in your order, you will be able to report an issue with the link sent to your number after your order, as well as your order history page. The Fresh Market cannot issue refunds for orders placed online. These refunds must be requested from Instacart.
Why are my pickup and delivery fees sometimes higher or lower? Order fees are based on method and order total. For delivery, orders $35 or more have a fee of $3.99. Any orders less than $35 for delivery will have a fee of $7.99. Pickup orders $35 or more have a fee of $1.99, and orders less than $35 have a fee of $3.99.
